Can't say enough good things about this company. They showed up on time, very professional. Had a 60ft tree taken down. Sat at the corner of my deck. Absolutely no damage to the deck and minimal holes from dropping the trunk of the tree. Lowered all limbs by rope. Cleaned up the yard after they were done. If I had more trees I'd hire them again. Needed 2 trees cut down and another branch cut off another tree. They gave me a written quote and copy of their certificate of insurance on a Friday afternoon. The work was promptly Mon. morning and they hauled everything away and even raked most of my leaves along with the tree debris. Guys were clean cut and professional, great prices. read more

Probably the most unprofessional company I've ever had to deal with. I needed a large birch tree removed from the side of my yard, and upon getting several quotes from other companies, I decided to go with them because they were cheapest. They assured me that they would handle all of the necessary permits, etc., for removing the tree since it was above the diameter threshold for the City of Charleston. However, as I found out, they DID NOT apply for the permit and so I got hit with a $248 fine about a month after (which the City luckily rescinded after I told them the situation - they ended up fining them directly). During the actual removal process, the majority of the tree fell within about 10 yards of my neighbor's house in their back yard, which left them with a good amount of soil damage. And instead of hauling the tree debris away with them (it was about a 30 foot tree), they, without telling me, used the PROTECTED wetlands (signs were in plain sight) behind my house to dump the trunk and limbs. In doing so, they damaged my neighbor's yard AGAIN, by continuously driving their equipment back and forth from the tree site to a small opening in the woods. Luckily, my neighbor didn't sue me. When I confronted them about using the wetlands as a dump site instead of hauling it away, David Christmas remarked that since I wanted it to be cheap, it was necessary to dump it behind my house rather than hauling it away. I am THOROUGHLY impressed by David Michael Christmas and his crew. Removed a pecan tree and a split oak tree, all three over 25 feet tall, AND ground stump for FAR less than MANY others. AND within a very tight space. No damage to house, shed, fence or ac unit. On time, no change in quote, communicated throughout project, no trash left behind, simply EXCELLENT service. I too have used this company I hired them because they were "licensed and insured". We had them remove approximately 10 trees from our yard for a large amount of money. They completed the work but cracked our driveway in the meantime with their trucks, refused to pay for the driveway because it already had a crack in it. Took them to court, and they didn't even show up for the case, I still have a judgement out against them and have not seen a dime. This was 2009-2010. I would never recommend them or use them again, I see they are still at it. read more

Incredibly unprofessional and STOLE MY MONEY. I paid Mr. Christmas $375 in February as a "deposit" on a tree removal job that he promised to have done by the beginning of March. It is now May 18 and no one will return my phone calls. They will not refund my money and also will not come and do the job. I would stay far, far away from this company. read more

Arborscape Tree Services accepted a 50% deposit ( $1,100) on 7 June 2016 on a written service agreement for work to be accomplished by 30 June 2016. As yet they have never performed the work even after many promises of doing the work after 3 months of repeated excuses as to why they couldn't get the work rescheduled and started. I called and told Keith in early September the contract was now terminated and I wanted my deposit refunded ASAP. I also followed up with a text and email twice in September 2016 that this contracted is terminated for nonperformance and wanted my refund now. Keith said he would have his brother refund my deposit but as of 13 December 2016 Arborscape Tree Service has not refunded my deposit nor accomplished any work. I highly recommend that you not use this company as they a re not honorable, professional or trustworthy. read more

Still waiting for my refund Mr. Christmas! After being paid in full prior to the job (I lived out of state at the time of payment) Arborscape removed one of two trees and left the site, never to return. Mr. Christmas promised on several occasions to return payment for the other half of the job and, to date (several years later) has not. He also refused to respond to the State Consumer Affairs complaint, BBB and Angie's list. Another client even took Aborscape to court and, is still waiting for payment. read more

I experienced the same take-the-money-and-run behavior with Arborscape Tree Preservation, LLC as noted in other reviews here on Yelp. I called and Arborscape's Mr. Keith Christmas came to estimate a job for us. We needed several trees removed from around our house. "Keith" estimated the job at $2500.00, which I thought reasonable, and I wrote him a personal check for $1250.00 for the required "retainer". Stupid me. May 16th work was to start, but no one showed up, and no one called to explain. So I called "Keith" and the Arborscape "office". It took days and days of calling but I finally got an answer from someone at the office. They denied that Arborscape had ever agreed to that date, but my wife and I know they did. Ultimately, the office person agreed to reset the date to May 26th. Again, no show, and no answer to multiple calls and messages. Finally, I made an unannounced, 7:00pm visit to Arborscape's "office", which is also David Christmas's home. David and Keith are brothers. We had long, rather tense discussion standing on their front porch, during which Mr. Christmas at no time offered any reasonable explanation for their failures. Ultimately, I told him I wanted a full refund of the $1250.00 retainer. Mr. Christmas offered to give me $500.00 cash and a "personal check" for the rest, "right now". I decided not to be stupid twice. I gave him a hard deadline, with a precise date and time, to have the full $1250.00 in cash or certified check, in my hands, at my home. The check has cleared at the bank. End of story. The lesson is, . . . Don't even think of hiring Arborscape, and always check the Yelp business reviews first. read more
