I went to Arbour lake dental this evening on an emergency basis. I am terrified of drs and dentist so I get very bad anxiety that raises my already high blood pressure. I have never felt so at ease in a dental office! Each and every person was super polite and understanding!! They made everything so uncomplicated and easy for me to understand. Arbour Lake Dental do such a great job at all their dental services. I have been going there for years - and have had so much work - annual cleaning, teeth removal, etc. And every year I have them do the work with sedation - and that is phenomenal. It makes such a difference - and means absolutly no pain with any dental work! They are a great company. read more

I've never felt so mistreated before in my life because of my colour. Everyone was treating me so differently that even Dr. Chris himself who barely touched my teeth (probably wouldn't have at all if I hadn't insisted that they were actually hurting) seemed to dislike me. I felt it already from the beginning--- from reception, where I saw only pictures of white people on their wall frames. And then, to the hygienist who seemed to be mad at almost everything I said. And then, Helen, the person who did my X-ray gave me weird vibes as if I couldn't understand anything, in my head I was just like: "Yes, I can speak and understand english." She got mad at me for communicating my pains again later on because it was an inconvenience for her to know it too "late". "You were supposed to communicate it to the dentist." Well, I didn't know I had to repeat the pain of my teeth 3 times to 3 different people...but even then, would it even matter if everyone kept rushing and not even noting/taking down my tooth aches? Shouldn't Kelly (who I texted my pains to when making my appointment), the blonde hygienist (who interviewed me where my pain hurt), or Helen (the one who kept showing frustration sighs and disappointment hints) --shouldn't these 3 have already noted it down so that it was easily communicated to the dentist himself? Also, I asked Helen if she could do an x-ray for me for the wisdom teeth surgeon but she said no to this, because she and Miller really wanted me to get my wisdom teeth extraction at THEIR PLACE and seemed frustrated about it that I couldn't.....so they just gave me a reference, but no x-ray. I ended up having to MISS some CLASS TIME a few hours later just so I can have another SEPARATE appointment on the SAME DAY. Up to the payment area at the end of my appointment, even the women on the desks were giving me weird looks, even when I came back a few hours later, I got snobby looks from Kelly, she was definitely way friendlier on the phone, probably didn't know I was not white until she saw me in person. At least a smile from them would've lighten the whole mood up a bit, but nope, I got nothing at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone, because they are not very welcoming. Maybe it is a different story if you are white, but who knows. Anyone who is just on the go for money is not genuine and if they can mistreat any human being like that, I wouldn't trust them with any human being whatever colour. read more

Can I just rate these guys with a minus! I would suggest that there are so many better options than this place. I found the reception staff rude... abrasive and insensitive. Miller is just out to get your $$$ and push you out the door as fast as he can. He did answer my questions about the procedures and options.. that's when I should have walked. A month after he put in a crown I had problems. Decided returning to THAT office was not going to happen. The dentist who repaired the work was astounded at "the quick and shoddy workmanship" by Miller. Unnecessary pain and nearly a thousand dollars to clear up the mess Miller made! So read the reviews... you think it'll be your lucky day? Just find a more competent and caring dentist. You really don't want this guy with his tools in your mouth! Do NOT go here. read more

Phoned to make an appointment because I had toothache. They were able to fit me in if I had a cleaning done ($). The hygienist took x-rays and I saw the dentist after a short wait, who grabbed hold of my painful tooth and said "it hurts if I do this"? To summarize: not much are, disinterested, uninformative and I left with no sense of how to resolve my toothache, but with a nice quote for $18,000 of work. Won't be going back. read more

This dental clinic and its dentist Christopher Miller sucks, big big big MONEY SUCKER. The only thing they are interested in is how many units you can claim from your insurance company and they will drain you dry in one visit. They clean up all my cleaning units in one cleaning visit. The service sucks, never meet the dentist after spending $500 for cleaning. Never Never pay a dim to this sucker!!!!!!! read more

MONEY HUNGRY!!!! Forgive me but this might be a lil long. I used to go to Arbour Lake in 2000 and have no complaints when it was owned by Ian Miller, sadly tho he has passed it down to his sons. I recently moved back to the NW and went back here. I've recommended this place to a few friends and have since called to apologize to them. I had an apt here in late Jan at 430. I showed up early and did all my forms and waited. The waiting room filled and emptied twice and by 5 I was still waiting and no one had said a word to me. I understand people are late, I'm always one of them. I watched a lady walk through the door shortly after 5 and just had a feeling she was my hygienist and I was right. 20 mins later my hygienist came over to me to say she was sorry but all the chairs were now full and I'd have to wait. OK, not so bad but a bit of a pain. So I finally get in shortly after 530 and get my xrays done and my teeth cleaned. Dr Mike comes in to look at them, doesn't really say much to except for "Hi" and "are you flossing everyday" but he talks dentist talk to the hygienist and leaves. He was literly in my presence for less than 5 mins. After he leaves the hygienist says that I have 7 cavities that will need to be filled ASAP. Excuse me.... 7???!?!?!?! I am 27 and have had 1 cavity in my life, I don't believe after 6 months I all of a sudden have 7. So after all is done I get up and am rushed out to the area where you are to pay, it really does feel like an assembly line. So I set up my apt to get the cavities filled and head out the door. I called a gf, who I recommended to this place, when I got home to tell her about my 7 cavities and she tells me that she's sure he's just after insurance money as he told her she had 10. I made an apt across town at my old dentist (C U Smiles, it's wonderful! I saw them between 2001-2011) and ask for a second opinion. I call Arbour Lake a few days before to make sure they've sent my xrays over there as I've already called and asked them to do. The girl tells me there's a problem with my insurance payment so they haven't and won't release any xrays until everything is paid up. Fair enough. I take off work early, cause she said they were closing by 4, to go and pay my $446 tab and once again say "You're sending the Xrays now right?" "Of course we are" she even reads the email address back to me. Saturday I go to C U Smile and of course my xrays haven't made it there. What's better, Arbour Lake is closed on the weekend so they can't send anything. Errrrrrrrrr. My dentist takes a look anyways and tells me she sees 2 cavities but wants to wait for the xrays. So, I book to go on the Tues and call on Mon to see if my xrays have made it. They have but they don't think they're my xrays. Sure enough they weren't. They had sent over about 5 different xrays, some had root canals, some extra fillings and some with caps. So C U Smiles was nice enough to do a set of xrays at no charge so they knew exactly what they were dealing with. After all was said and done I had 2 cavities in total... not 7. I honestly believe Dr Mike and his crew are after insurance money. I think they tell you that you need all this work that you don't so they can cash in on you. Save yourself the hassle and headache and go to somewhere else! I would never ever ever set foot in this office again let alone recommend anyone here. read more

I am writing this review as I had used this place for se work on my teeth. First, the dentist told me that there is no limit as to what they can charge for any work as it is not regulated by the government.. Second, he also told me that it is the customers that buy his tools needed for work...which is wrong. As a business owner myself, I cannot make the customers pay for my business tools. The tools are required to do the job not to be put onto the patients shoulders. The business should be using there little bit of profit to buy new tools and whatever else it needs to operate not charge the patient out the bleep. I had 2 teeth fixed and within 1 week both teeth had broken, when I approached the dental clinic about it, they told me to bad you still have to pay..they charged me a ridiculous amount....I guess that's why he drives a BMW and vacations a few times a year...anything that is needed to operate a business is not the responsibility of the patients..it's the business's responsibility to save their profit and use that to upgrade or keep the business going. An auto motive tech can't charge the customer to by his tools, nor can a tradesmen. so why is ok for dentists to? If a dentist wants to charge $1000 to pull 1 tooth they are allowed..I think that it's crazy there is no regulations on this since 1997. If you like paying for the BMW and the vacations...well the general public is a fool instead of standing up and saying something. I have investigated other countries and it is the same dental schooling in North America but those place are half and some even more than half the price of what is charges here in Canada....it's disgusting people..wake up. read more

I wish I could give a lower rating, but I can't. I had sedation dentistry done about three years ago. They soaked me for 3 crowns and some fillings, etc. Did it all at once under sedation, and that was supposed to be that. Ended up having to go back and be sedated THREE MORE TIMES in the following weeks to fix the screw ups they made. Teeth not fitting together so needed regrinding, one crown broke apart, etc. Now today, I am eating a piece of CHOCOLATE, and a crown comes right off. I called them (it is Thursday afternoon), and not only do they apparently not have any dentists available, but they have none in until MONDAY. So I have to suffer in pain, and potentially damage the stub waiting until then? To top it off, the lady says they would have to charge me for it. For what??????? To fix your screw up that shouldn't have happened anyway? I wanna become a dentist at Arbour Lake so I can charge 3500 bucks for a crown, then another few hundred for sedation, then screw it all up, then have the crown fall off, so I can charge to put it back on. What a scam. Stay away from these shysters. I am sure there are REAL dentists in town who care more about your teeth than the fatness of your wallet. read more

Awesome dental office. Professional, kind, and explain things clearly.

After having Dr. Ian Miller as my dentist since their days in a tiny strip mall in Silver Springs, I can honestly say things changed in later years. Now you are nothing but a number in the system, mostly ignored during appointments, and the quality of work is seriously lacking. I have had to have numerous procedures redone elsewhere after a short period of time, and still have issues with a couple of repairs they did. Other members of my family have had similar negative results with the work done at Arbour Lake, and have taken their business and health elsewhere. 30 years ago, best dental practice in town. Now, however, I wouldn't waste my time building their financial empire. So sad. read more
