"Driving" the truck, "flying" the airplane, and rolling the giant exercise balls on the second level are favourite activities too. The best part is the large separate snack area they have set aside for their patrons -- kids always get hungry and thirsty, and it is nice to be able to bring in our own lunch to save money and maximize our play time. They also offer beverages and snacks at their cafe. Their nut-free policy definitely gives me piece of mind when bringing my peanut-allergic son here. It can get busy if daycare groups are visiting, but the last Tuesday morning (when adults get in free) we were here, it was quiet and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Admission isn't cheap and entry is $13 and $8 for my two kids, but the amenities available more than make up for it when we do occasionally drop in. Great place - we will be back.

We stay at Portage campground (there are 4 campground all together), because it's by far the most wooded and private. The lots are huge, and almost completely closed in. It's difficult to hear anyone else unless they are being very loud, which you're not supposed to do. There is a "no excessive noise at any time" rule in place. The lots are so big that we had room for 3 tents (a 3 person, a 4 person and a 6 person tent) plus a 12 x 12 screen house and two cars. We rented two lots as we were a group of 8 people, and put the picnic table from the other lot on ours and still had plenty of space for everyone to move around, set up outdoor games, and sit, distanced, around the fire. I will only plan camping trips here.

I've actually helped to throw a gorgeous wedding here in the heritage buildings a number of years ago, it was challenging but so memorable and I'd highly recommend it if you're willing to do the work and deal with the constraints of the space (when they reopen). But winter here is my favourite. We love to come here cross-country skiing as a family, being on these huge trails and wild edges of the island. It's always breezy here in the summer, even hot days are soothing, the waves are wild and you just feel a release from the heaviness of the city. All the more appreciated during these crazy times.

The pricing gets cheaper the more ten-minute sessions you sign up for, although it starts at $20 per session. For any rookies out there, while ten minutes may not seem like a lot at first, it's plenty when you're two inches off of the ground with a hot little engine under your body. If I'm going to be honest, we were all even a little sore after our ten minute session. The only reason I've allocated four stars here instead of five is my love/hate feels over the service. I could have done without some of the attitude the kids working the track were serving but hey, I probably would have been the same way if I was a high school kid working at a go karting track in St Zotique.

Monica was all smiles as she greeted us and introduced us to Casper, explaining the proper grooming and care after which she invited everyone to come and help with the brushing, cleaning of hooves, and saddling up. We went outside and my girls took turns riding Casper around the lot (he was so gentle with my 6 year old!) and Monica was great answering all our questions about all the ponies. After the ride, we got to feed Casper as well as all the ponies outside. 90 minutes flew by so quickly but we had so much fun and felt so welcomed that we will all be coming back, especially as the Stable grows and horses get introduced so adults can also get some riding in :)

The animals include rabbits, ducks, chickens, goats, alpacas, a small cow and even some wild pigs. They also have a friendly dog named Ava that greets you as you walk in the farm. Tickets are $14 per person and free for children 2 and younger. Totally worthwhile, as it's a pretty immersive experience and you're surrounded by tons of animals. The animals are friendly and not aggressive. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely wear some boots to the farm (especially if it's rained recently) and follow the directions on their website to find the farm.

Right when you walk onto the farm you're greeted by their gorgeous friendly dog Ava surrounded by a pond filled with chirpy ducks. You'll probably feel right at home here, as I did. For a reasonable fee, you can have a guided tour of the rabbits, goats, alpacas, and a free running miniature cow and miniature horses! Yes you can feed them! Some tips: 1) you must chop the food into bite sizes for the alpacas! 2) No cucumbers 3) No loose plastic bags. So, it's best to bring your food ready to feed the animals in a bag. Make sure you watch small children as the goats can be energetic when eating. Yes, you're in the enclosure with them right in the middle of the action! They also offer volunteer opportunities to the public a few times a year. I didn't find it too muddy but wear outdoor shoes just in case. Bring some hand wipes as I'm not sure if there's a hand washing station.
