Greaaaaaat thrift store. I looove thrifting and was searching for theift stores when I was in town for Thanksgiving. Arc was down the street from my hotel so I decided to give it a try. My sister, who is a CS local, also recommended it! The store is huge! It has lots of stock at great prices. I found great brands in good condition at a good price. This Arc Thrift Store is located in the same plaza as Harbor Freight, with plenty of parking. I am a fan of thrift stores. It is always like a hunt whenever you go into a thrift store because you really have to dig to find some unique finds. And a lot of times, you may be lucky to get some really great deals too. Well what brought both my husband and I into this store was the large red banner hanging in the front that advertised 50% off every Saturday. It just so happens that we were in the area last Saturday and decided to check it out. There are 4 colored tags that are 50% off in the store, which is most items. I ended up finding some gently used books by a favorite author of mine, which was nice to get 2 books for a little under $3.50. The employees that I interacted with were very friendly. One employee thanked me for waiting in the long line and appreciated my patience (I was not surprised that there was rather a long wait to pay at the register since others also want to score a great deal on Saturdays). Overall, I had a positive shopping experience and would be regular if I lived in this area. read more

Living in Albuquerque we got our first ARC thrift store recently. Was in Colorado to go to a reseller meeting at the ARC corporate offices in Denver and I can't say enough good things about the organization and the management. They not only talk the talk they walk the walk. Donation to final distribution they are first class. This store is very nice. As with all thrift stores the pricing can be unique. But I found 3 great deals: Hoka sneakers women's 12.99 half off Saturday, 5.99 Talavera skull (no discount yellow tag), and a cute top. Total $6 (note I had a $10 coupon also). I left a couple good deals including a Villeroy and Boch casserole for 24.99 which would resell for $75 to $100 but didn't want to transport. Thanks ARC for what you do! read more

One of my favorite locations in Colorado Springs. It's big, and has a decent sized men's section (compared to other locations). It's also much more organized than other thrift stores I've been to (for the most part things are indeed sorted by the size) and by type. I wish it had more dressing rooms (it has 4-5, but they always seem occupied) or at least a few more mirrors to try on things that don't require a full dressing room. Things are cheaply priced but they also have deals and specials so you can get some really cute stuff for under $20. read more

This Arc thrift location is probably one of my favorites in CO area. It's close to my house so I can donate items and also shop for rare finds from time to time. I will say that at times they can get a little pricy but overall it's reasonable considering that a high quality shirt at the mall will cost you no less than $60. Here a shirt or blouse gently used with no odors or stains you're looking at 7.99 to 9.99 is a bargain-- even if the colored tag isn't on sale. Today I came to get the dude a few summer shirts and walked out with 4 shirts for $22-- that's under $6 a piece. You just can't beat that! Arc thrift is a pretty cool thrift store and I definitely enjoy searching the racks for those one of a kind rare finds. Thanks Arc thrift for making my closet a little more funkier! An extremely large thrift store with lots to look at. It was fairly clean and well staffed. The prices are a bit on the high side for games and electronics. It's hard to look at the games and blurays when locked behind glass. I understand the reasoning why, but feel pressured when and employee must babysit you as you shop. The Denver store seemed to have more to look at without being locked up. Still it's way better than the leading thrift store chain. read more

This thrift store reminds me of Walmart. Only difference is, at Walmart things are new and less expensive. Across the board, EVERYTHING here is priced higher then even the other ARC Thrift Store across town. In the entryway today, I walked in and spotted an old small dresser/wardrobe... listed at $250. You wouldn't even see it priced that high at an antique store. The purpose of a thrift store is to make things affordable for the less fortunate. These are donated items... some of them my donated items... that you're turning around just to make a profit. read more

Love, love, LOVE this ARC and his Austin Bluffs counterpart. The 2 best ARCs in the Springs. Organized, pretty clean (this is second hand, don't expect retail styling) and AWESOME DEALS TO BE FOUND. This store, as well as the Austin Bluffs, discounts 4 of his color tags (50% off) each Saturday for all, each Monday for Military and each Tuesday for Seniors. They do this with ALL of their items, to include formalwear (the ARC on South Academy does not) so there are great deals to be found here for formal gowns and for Halloween costumes. When you walk into the store on those days, just look around (registers, racks, wall displays) for the posted sign that tells which 4 colors are on sale that day. Green tags are never on sale (they are usually locked inside the curio cabinets). Items arrived that week are not on sale, they will go on sale the following week...so the 4 discounted colored tags cycle thru all the time. I only come to shop on discount days. Saturday (being that anyone can get 50% off on 4 color tags) it gets very busy. So your best bet is to go late in the evening. That's what I do when I can't visit on Monday (much less crowded since only military get 50% off). On Wed-Thur-Fri-Sun only ONE color tag is discounted. So there are less deals to be found...but I have visited on those days as well. They organize their items as best as possible. The volume of stuff that comes into these stores is mind boggling. Some stuff is rough, but there is a lot of very kindly pre-owned items to be found. I regularly purchase cashmere sweaters, silk blouses, designer brands, leather accessories, formal gowns and off course TONS and tons of items to be assembled into halloween costumes and accessories and props. They also have 'theme' racks for seasonal items so it's easy to find what you are looking for around holidays. You can return items purchased within 10 days if you have the receipt. You only get store credit, but sometimes it's useful as on Saturday the lines for the dressing rooms are very long and I often take clothing home to try them on. I always use the store credit within a month or so, as I am here on o weekly-biweekly basis when I have time to browse. I am addicted to this place. Absolutely love it. read more

Easily the worst of all the Arc stores in Colorado. My wife and I love these stores, so when we come to visit family in Colorado, we always make sure to visit as many as we can. On our last trip, we visited fourteen different Arc stores around Denver and Colorado Springs. I am almost positive that we really have been to every single Arc in the state, so it is not an exaggeration when I say, WORST. ARC. EVER. Also, I have seen the running of a large thrift store in SF, know many many people who manage and work there, and understand that these can be a challenge to run. Still no excuse. Why such a bad review? Strike 1: Employees talking loudly about how much they hate their job, and how they can't wait to get out of there. Seriously. They were having a conversation across the store about how they couldn't wait for closing (which was still a couple hours away). How do you find employees this unprofessional? Strike 2: After finding some books, we walk up to the check stands. Nobody home. We look around and see multiple employees standing around the store. No help. Note: I am 6'1" tall, a little over 200lbs, wearing a brightly colored shirt. I am not hard to see, standing at the front of the store. The girl who was complaining loudly earlier starts walking towards us. 'Yay,' I think,'Someone is finally going to assist us!'. When she gets close, I make eye contact with her. She then (I kid you not) puts her head down and speeds up as she walks past us. Minutes pass. Finally, after roughly ten minutes of me debating whether it would be a bad thing just to take the books (considering nobody is interested in selling them to me), an older lady comes in, completely high on God knows what, and says something about 'putting away the shopping carts'. Is that what they call it these days? Strike 3: As we check out, I realize I left one of the books I wanted on the shelf. I run to get it, and my wife waits at the counter while the lady scans the books. As I am walking back (there is nobody in line behind us), the high counter lady looks over and yells 'Hurry up!'. I then run back and give her the book. Seriously. You're out. I left this place feeling like I had just wandered into and out of the twilight zone. I have never received such poor customer service in my life. There was no management present, no direction, no friendliness, nothing. There are plenty of other Arcs in Colorado Springs. I'd recommend you visit literally ANY of them but this one. read more

I worked here for almost 6 weeks. This is the worst management I have seen in my entire life. These managers claim to "support people with disabilities" but everyone who works their with a disability is treated like they are dumb. They are all extremely uneducated on autism and any kinds of disabilities. They choose certain workers and harass them. The people who do the most work are treated with extreme disrespect and are extremely underpaid and constantly told to "do more". Or that they are not doing there jobs well. It is an extremely draining job with many responsibilities and for supposedly being supportive of disabilities these managers are so uneducated, passive aggressive, rude, and unable to communicate with their workers. read more

I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about the prices, it is very cheap! I got four bags of stuff for $40 so in no way are the prices retail. It's huge and they have a little bit of everything, plus 50% off many items on Saturdays. It's also very clean, all in all an EXCELLENT thrift store. I like Arc in general, and this location is a good one for furniture in particular. Their selection tends to be nicer and more plentiful than the other Arc I frequent. The parking situation can get pretty crazy during their Saturday 50% off sales and on senior day (Tuesday), so I tend to go in the evenings if I go those days. read more

Not sure why all the hate. Okay I'm not a professional picker, so maybe that's it. This is my least favorite of the local ARC stores only because I can never find anything I want there. Great inventory and very nice cashiers. They are always sweet even when it's really busy. For the best deals watch for 50% off sales, usually every Saturday and holiday weekends like Labor Day. Inventory changes quickly due to massive amount of donations coming in, which is nice for repeat customers. I've found designer labels there including Kate Spade, etc. I think of it like a treasure hunt and the fact that the profits help the disabled makes it meaningful. read more

Not the worst I've ever seen but there are loads of better thrift stores in the Springs. The Arc on Austin Bluffs tends to have a better selection of clothes, books and knick knacks. The problem is that all the aforementioned items are pricier here. Perhaps its location is the issue. Being the north end of town, maybe they feel people will spend more on the same items they could find cheaper further south. Or it could be that since there is a decent Goodwill only a couple of blocks north they feel they must compete. Either way it's too bad as the location is prime and they should surely be more competitive in both selection and price. read more
