However, I was awoken at around 3 in the morning and discovered that my bed was crawling with bedbugs. I got up, removed my belongings from the room, and sat in the common area to wait for reception to open. In the morning, I spoke to the manager, told him the situation, and even showed him one of the bedbugs I killed. He agreed that it was definitely a bedbug, then said, "Ok. If you go out later, I have a special spray. I'll go spray your mattress with it". Clearly he's dealt with this situation before. I told him I didn't feel comfortable staying there any longer and would prefer to just get a refund and be on my way. He refused to refund my night, saying that for all he knows, I brought the bedbugs in myself. For the two months I've been traveling, not ONCE have I experienced bedbugs; not even so much as waking up to a bite. I know for a fact they originated in this hostel and not from me. So if you're looking for a hostel in the middle of nowhere that will leave you covered in itchy bites, by all means, give this place a go.

You just have to take some stairs from the Landungsbrücken subway station. Their pricing is fair. You don't need any cash, except for the lockers and the bar. Dinner is extra, but if you book it in advance, it's way cheaper. And it's quite good for the price. It's also a very clean hostel.
