Run, don't walk...away from STUDS…read more It is 2025 and customer service should not be that hard to deliver, alas, I've been proven wrong. Is studs convenient? Yes. Besides the fact that my piercer was nice and it was easy to get an appointment, the rest of my experience left a lot to be desired. I am going to include all the details here so that when Annalisa comments and asks me to reach out to share more details we can all know that this is a canned response and they truly don't care about their customers. Day of piercing. They were a bit behind. No worries. I chose my jewelry and was get my flat helix pierced. The piercer marked the spot, though she didn't use a light or anything to check for blood vessels. I'm not a piercer, so maybe not all piercings require that. Honestly the initial experience was more or less fine. It was about one month later that my piercing got knocked out of my ear in the shower. I was flabbergasted because I have several other ear piercings and it is actually impossible to remove them. I literally had to sign a waiver for an MRI bc I couldn't get them out. Studs jewelry, on the other hand, is cheap cheap cheap despite the unnecessarily high pricetag. I was fortunate to find both pieces of the earring when it fell out and I attempted to get it back in. My ear was swollen and then grew much more swollen through my attempts to get it back in. I figured I was causing harm so I decided to stop and go back in. I called to see if I could pop in before I left for vacation the next day. They don't have a phone in their studios. Like what? I figured I had no other choice but to go in and quickly ask someone who does this all day long to quickly pop it back in. When I walked in and shared the story at the desk, you would think I was asking them to perform a root canal. The receptionist seemed outraged that I would make such a request 15 minutes before closing when there is still one appointment left for the day. I let her know that I'd be happy to wait. I was told they have to close. Like duh, I understand, but this will take like three seconds. My entire piercing appt was 3 minutes. Like y'all, we can make this happen. Like I mentioned, I was going on vacation and I didn't want my brand new piercing that cost like $80 to close up. I thought they wouldn't want it either. A good piercing out of that studio is a walking billboard. The receptionist agreed to ask the piercer. A lady comes down with a horrible attitude, does not introduce herself and tells me why it is not possible for them to put my earring in. I asked how long it would take. She informed me a couple of seconds. She spoke to me in such a condescending way using phrases like, "what I am trying to explain to you is...," "what you don't understand is...," "if you would just let me finish..." She also told me that they work 8 hours and have to come back the next day to do the same thing as if they are the only people in the world with a job. I literally have never spoken to a customer about my work schedule as an excuse to not be kind and accommodating. Now I thought I was talking to the piercer. I said how about we get this in my ear instead of yapping about it. Turns out it was the manager, Sasha. I was being spoken down to by the manager. Customer service 101 is listening and she was unable to listen, she spoke over me time and time again using sarcasm which I did not appreciate. I get really anxious in this type of situation and my eyes welled up and she told me, "to stop crying. There is no reason to be crying." Anyone who is highly sensitive knows that makes it way worse. The manager should not be saying that to a customer. She eventually went to ask the piercer if it was possible. Upon her return she asked me to sign a waiver (like for what plus I already signed it for this exact hole) and then tried to charge me a $15 jewelry change fee. I was outraged. This should have been a courtesy given the horrible quality of the jewelry. If your jewelry falls out in the shower, that is a quality issue. While I was waiting for the manager to speak to the piercer, the receptionist gave me a tip for getting it back in myself. Bro, if we started there, this would have never gotten blown out of proportion. So all that said, I will only be going to a real piercer from now on. The quality of jewelry is better. I've had more healing issues here than any of my other piercings. Oh and they tend to be legitimately nice in real piercings studio. Just don't bother. Even if the initial appt seems fine, there are long term repercussions for getting pierced there.

Marina was running the shop herself and took care of 3 clients in a short period of time without rushing. she was super kind and helpful even though i didn't get my piercing here. she let me know my options and i chose to replace the bottom disc of a floating naval with a ball since the disc was digging into me. after she replaced the disc, i nearly immediately started feeling better. the disc had swollen the area around my naval, but the ball nearly immediately settled it. the bar already seems much longer due to the swelling going down after about 14 hours. she was patient, helpful and caring. i appreciate that she cared about my healing more than the place i got the piercing done from! and i love her pink gloves and matching supplies. comfortable waiting room, piercing room, good vibes. i love that they separated the piercing and tattoo sections. wonderful customer service. thank you for not treating clients like a burden.

I came in with clear ideas and references, but very little of what I asked for was actually incorporated into the final piece. What's most frustrating is the apparent lack of effort. When I compare my tattoo to other work he has done, the difference in quality and attention to detail is hard to ignore. My piece feels rushed and poorly executed, with minimal care taken to match the concept we had planned. Getting a tattoo is a permanent and personal decision, so it's important to feel heard and confident in your artist. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience here. I would strongly recommend that others carefully review his work and ensure clear communication before committing. Also, he admitted to me that he has been drunk while doing other clients work in the past and had alcohol at his station in the shop. That begs the question if he was drunk while doing mine.

I already knew…read morewhat I wanted to get from a prior trip to the Seaport Mejuri location and just needed to come in to check sizing. I looked up my items online, which was difficult given that (with no labels on any of the jewelry) I didn't know what to search on their website. So I was ready to purchase items, just needed to check sizes (which is what an in-person jewelry showroom is for). We waited in line due to store occupancy limits (understandable, it's a small location) and once we got in were immediately accosted by an associate who asked if we were finding everything ok. She disappeared once I said that I knew what I wanted and needed help with sizing. When I had to go ask someone from the back desk area for help, they rolled their eyes and scoffed at me for...asking them to do their job and help me understand the (unlabeled) sizing for the bracelet. If you're going to have no labels on your display for what the sample sizes are (20/22 inches for a chain necklace, a very slight difference, plus no idea which sample bracelet was for the M/L/XL sizes) at least have helpful staff! Then, when checkout time came I was told that the price was going to be more than I had originally budgeted for since we had picked out the necklace with a slightly larger diameter. I asked for clarification and the girl helping me gave the most convoluted explanation about the bracelet already being upsized. She expected me to already be knowledgeable about the different finishes too. I had to advocate for my 10% signup discount to be applied. And when we got home, one of the boxes was missing the storage pouch and polishing cloth. Overall a really scummy experience all around that I felt like I was being tricked and upsold with unclear explanations even when I knew what I was purchasing. I'm used to buying fine jewelry and having nice laid out options sheets that this business model was clearly lacking. Or even transparent pricing! I'm betting that they treat their staff poorly because they are so unenthusiastic to even help out people who know what they want! Such an unnecessarily stressful experience. The gals next door at Glossier are so much nicer and more helpful, and their price point for makeup is far less than the consideration for buying what is ostensibly marketed as fine jewelry. Most things are extremely marked up and of variable quality as compared to standard jewelers. I only came because I liked one particular design and had felt it before as solid. TL;DR Even if you already know what you want, don't go to the Mejuri on Newbury, maybe the one in Seaport instead. Very unhelpful layout and staff.
