What a unique experience. My friend and I were visiting from out of town and were torn between this and visiting the Castle. Let me just say, we made the right choice by coming to Arcadia. This conservation museum was informative, interactive, breathtaking, fun, and truly something special. Other countries- take notes! (We need more places like this!) Upon entry you're asked to download their app so you can enjoy further the interactive experience. You will see while circles on the ground or walls that you can with your phone for an image to come to life on your screen. With these images you are given facts about different animal species. Several rooms to note: one was red made out of fishing nets. This room showed how fishing is harming our oceans and various marine life are affection when they're tangled within them. Another you sit as the hallway changes from the mountains to the ocean, to a stream and learn about various endangered animals, why they're endangered and how you can help. There was a technology room was an incredible throne made out of computer mice and keyboards. These are just a FEW of the experiences you'll get to enjoy while on this educated journey. Arcadia also offers a a planetarium experience that takes place under water. (Don't be silly you're not really in the ocean.) They have a small gift shop where everything is naturally made and gives back to the environment. I had a lovely chat with one of the sales associates who helped me select a facial cleanser and moisturizer while there than honestly has made my skin GLOW in just a few days of using it. I HIGHLY recommend you put this on your travel list.

My family and I visiting here while in Toronto. It was very interactive and full of interesting exhibits. It really makes you think about your personal responsibility to save planet Earth.

Arcadia Earth is an exhibit that takes about an hour to peruse, and teaches you about the environment and how to take care of planet earth. Through a series of videos, virtual reality and an app, you learn many interesting facts about the earth's degradation and how to reverse course. It's good for young and old alike. There is a nice gift shop containing environmentally sustainable products, and an art project for kids. The staff is particularly nice and the customer service is a standout feature.

Easy to navigate in the museum. Very interactive and cool with the app and with the displays. Interesting facts shown throughout the museum to learn. Definitely recommend locals and visitors to come check this place out while it still open. Update: wanted to add this to my review. I came during the Swiftie promo therefore 13% off. The staff at the front did not apply the 13% correctly for myself and my group. I reached out to their customer service team and they were fast in responding and fixing the error. They refunded the difference to me. However keep in mind, they do charge a service fee on top of the base fee. All of this adds up and does make the entrance fee steep.

Arcadia is a beautiful exhibition not only it's very instagramabale but it also teaches you a lot about sustainability and what our planet is going through. When we went they had five different rooms and each room had a different theme. It took us about an hour to go through everything. They also have an app that you can download & on it you can use AR to learn more about our planet and the exhibition. Had a fantastic time.

This is an example of a really well executed augmented reality experience! I just happened to be walking by, saw the cool logo, and decided to try it out. It was well worth the money.

For those wanting a different entertainment experience, Arcadia Earth at the terrace / upper level of The Well provides a unique Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experience with the theme of promoting Earth's sustainability. Each room / section transports you to a different world or ecology habitat, and brings forth a different type of environmental issue to tackle. Most of the rooms / areas are AR, and there is only 1 VR room with VR headsets. You can either download the app using your phone or tablet, or borrow one of their iPads on site. The whole experience takes about 1 hour. Tickets are available online, or you can just do a walk-in and purchase on site. A portion of the ticket proceeds goes towards World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The themes presented in all the rooms prompt you to think, reflect, and realize that even small steps and human actions can have a big impact on the environment.

Hubby & I went to this exhibit on a Saturday afternoon. We were really glad we came! The exhibit is made up of art installations that inspire people to live more sustainably. If you download the app you can get more of the immersive experience by pointing your camera at the trigger points. The trigger points show you cool videos that also have educational information. Before you go into the exhibit there's a tutorial you can watch to figure out how to navigate the exhibit. There's an art installation on e-waste, plastic waste, sea waste (nets, etc) and more. One room is about bees & there are scent stations where you can lift up jars where scents are being pumped into that area. The room I liked the most was the room that the World Wildlife Fund sponsored. The room has a video projection on the walls & floor. It looks & feels like you're standing in a forest in the middle of a stream. A voice narrates giving information about the forests, etc. Just before you get to the exit there is the VR room. Here you can put some VR goggles on to watch video footage they shot of different animals. It's really fascinating. You feel like the animals are right in front of you. There was a jaguar, cobras, orangutan, lion, and I think I'm forgetting the rest. Don't worry, they clean & sanitize the googles after every use. Outside of the exhibit rooms is the gift shop where you can buy eco-friendly products. They have all kinds of stuff here. There's eco-friendly towels, skincare, tea, coffee, t-shirts, mugs, etc. There's also a large handicap washroom outside the exhibit. The main washrooms are inside the exhibit after around the third room. Arcadia Earth is a permanent exhibit from what the cashier said. It will be interesting to see if they will someday put different art installations in the rooms. We really enjoyed this exhibit & we would go again. The location is great for people who live downtown as it's at The Well. The Well takes up a whole block from Wellington Street on the north side, Front street on the south side, Draper Street on the east side & Spadina Ave on the West side.

I recently checked out this exhibit and it was fantastic! It is an immersive art exhibit that showcases how to create a more sustainable future through huge interactive art installations. You start the journey within the ocean and learn about the sea and how you can make a difference. There is even an app you can download so you can photograph trigger points throughout the exhibit to see more of the installation and learn how you can make an impact to create a more sustainable planet. Next, we were transported into a bunch of other installations including: a universe in the depths of the earth that has interactive swings and looks like an underworld, a computer room that has tons of old technology parts that have not decomposed including a really cool throne with an amazing photo opportunity, a tunnel with a portal that is pretty cool to walk through, rooms with virtual movies playing on the screen where you can sit on the ground and watch the show, a room with giant artistic noses that look so artistic to explain how bees play a role in pollination and making our food supply with wonderful scents you can explore and smell while interacting with the VR Experience, and so much more. Do I Recommend this exhibit? Absolutely!

Such a cool experience with 4D immersive animation. Staff is very friendly and helpful. And it is better to download the app on iPhone in advance to get the better experience. They also provide ipad on site if you want have a phone. It is also very informative for kids to learn about environment and earth, also what we can do to make a difference. Total visit time is below 1 hour though, it is short considering the ticket price.

This is a strange place--but in a very good way. The elegant neo-classical facade of the original…read moreclub is backed by a somewhat ghastly modern condo-tower. There are two desks in the lobby, one for the condos and one for the club (which occupies the first six floors of the tower). The club has a private elevator. The Institute guest rooms are huge, well-appointed, comfortable, and very reasonable in price for Toronto (even for a reciprocal like me--even cheaper for members). But best of all, even when the club is not serving food and drink (it was not when I stayed there on a Sunday, so I cannot speak to that aspect) guests have the run of the public rooms (some of them, alas, given over to catering: but that's club life these days) which are half museum and half club, including the magnificent library which may be the handsomest room in Canada. I spent an hour communing with Richthofen's fighter-plane seat, in a vitrine in one of the bars. And when club services are not offered, the club is profoundly silent: a joy in the chaotic stew of today's Toronto. I would go back just for that. Two things to remember: Food and drink (and indeed other people, other than the 24/7 concierge) are only available Wednesday-Saturday. But one of the densest collections of restaurants in the world surrounds the club. Despite the preserved facade, this is a modern building, and despite the Institute's attempt to make it as old-dark-wood, swords-and- pistols-on-the-walls, London military-clubby as possible, it feels like one. If you want old-world pomposity in your interiors, stay at the National Club.

The club was founded in 1890…read more The club is first class, in a brand new building.  The old club was falling down structurally and the members decided to take a chance years ago and allowed a large condo building to be erected and the club would get 6 floors in the building and the ability to purchase condos in the building above the club first before it was offered to others. It has all worked out very well and the club is thriving.  The wait staff was taken care of while we were closed and most were able to return to us afterward assuming they wanted to. The club has both men and women members and though the members originally consisted of officers of the Toronto Garrison; there is no longer any military requirement-though there is a very strong military presence in the club. There are many bedrooms, a fitness facility, dining rooms, bar, etc , a military museum and library.  To my knowledge- it is the largest private military library in North America. The RCMI has an extensive reciprocal list of maybe 250 of the top clubs in the world. The club is located on University Avenue and next door to the University Club of Toronto. Eaton Center is extensive shopping mall complex that is a couple of blocks away.
