I endulged in a Dermalogica facial. Very calming, and enjoyable (even the extractions weren't as bad as I thought, blackhead and spot squeezing for those of you not "in the know") and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and, as far as I'm aware, with my limited spa experience, this salon is reasonably priced. The beautician advised me as to future skincare and didn't guilt-trip me into buying any products. While encouraging me to come back, she also offered alternatives and advised me of special offers. I will definately be making a return visit and if you fancy a bit of pampering, there is plenty of free parking here and some good early bird offers on a Monday and Tuesday.

I was advised by crunch fitness staff that the girl thought my appointment was at 7pm, had left at 7.15pm and her shift finished at 7.30pm. On booking my appointment over the phone months previously, I was advised it was open until 8pm. I had wrote the time into my two diaries, the appointment was definitely 7.30pm not 7pm. Unfortunately the salon does not send appointment confirmations via email or text so I could not show them. I had a wedding the following day and was very disappointed. My previous appointment at the salon was for my wedding in 2014 which also unfortunately was a disappointment. Both my tan and my bridesmaid's tan did not show the next day at all. We were brought to the relaxation room. It's cosy with huge chairs and cushions. We were brought to our treatment room. I love the way we could get changed into dressing gown in the room. The room was very relaxing. I had the coconut foot soak, hot towel back compress, relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage, Dermalogica Facial and foot massage. From start to finish was so relaxing. Best massage ever. When I went back into the relaxation we had Presecco and chocolates ready for us. And my pet hate .... product pushing I didn't feel there was any pressure to buy any products like some Spas. This was our first visit. I got the Relax & Renew spa package that was reduced from €119 to €69 in December, which included a coconut foot soak, Dermalogica facial, Indian head massage and a back, hand and foot massage. The offers change every month, but I know for January 2016, it €59 for the skin treatments like microdermabrasion and illuminating facials and 40% discount on massages. I've also had a deep tissue massage here which was pretty good but shorter than I expected (~40 mins). The girls here are really nice and friendly and they always do my Shellac perfectly (although they don't do complimentary removal even if you got it there, which costs an extra €5). The nail art is pretty limited in that they don't seem to do the really funky designs. You can get simple things like glitter, stars, hearts etc. though. They also seem to have some unique treatments that you don't come across everyday like ear candling, seaweed facials, body wraps and massage as well as special treatments like laser (non-contract), IPL red vein removal, facial peels and callus removal. The prices in general are slightly lower than most city centre salons (facials cost around €70 up), and the online booking system allows you to made instantaneous appointments via phorest without having to wait for confirmation. Overall, nice salon with friendly staff, a range of treatments and interesting special offers.

She kept dipping the same applicator into the pot, and I assume that wax had been used for other people as my appointment was at 5pm. It was also a good size pot of wax, so I doubt if it was thrown out for appointments after me. She also did not wear gloves, and used the same strip to remove wax from both underarms. At first I was pleasantly surprised because the removal did not hurt as much; however, I had lots of regrowth the very next day, which makes me think she did not remove the hair at the root. Shirrin is lovely and wonderful to speak with, but I will not be a returning client.

Shirrin then applied a beautiful combination of dewy make-up and a dramatic smokey eye, she also used contouring which in my opinion gave me an amazing look. I really liked the girl who did my pedicure, and they had the foot spa with a massaging chair like most other nail bars. They had personal fans for drying finger nails but not for drying feet, which wasn't an issue for me since my toes dried while my fingers were painted, but would not be good in a hurry. Super helpful. Then she did a lovely shellac polish and it's looking great a week later. Brilliant price too, €25 for removing the old stuff, a quick shape and then shellac. Interior is a little shabby but have to say the service was great. I'll be going again.
