He was singled out, treated differently than the kids that have been there longer/kids with legacy parents. It's not a tight knit community - it's an everyone talks about everyone community of fake adults trying to live vicariously through their sons. 0/10 recommend.

As you approach it on Chestnut, you almost thinking you are driving down a quaint residential street, but given the size of this place, you soon realize that this is a sprawling campus. We park the back, and that lot needs some work. There is a HUGE pothole as you pull into the unpaved lot. Railroad timbers separate the parking zones on the unpaved lot. The pool looks nice, but it isn't open when we are there. The gym where the Futsal takes place is spacious, with 4 fields of play at once. There is a running track above the gym floor on a balcony level.

The Community School only has 1 teacher who got his teaching license by completing 4 years of…read morecollege in 1 year Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 are mandatory classes to graduate high school, yet The Community School doesn't teach either course. There is a ton of work yet it's all busy work, not work that is needed. The head teacher and founder, Tom, has only one interest, and it's getting access to presenters to come to the school and receive donations. I wouldn't recommend The Community School. You are not allowed to miss school due to being sick or even surgery. My son had to have life saving surgery and due to him having surgery he was treated terribly. Tom would say mean things to my son everyday in front of the whole class. Tom called him names. Tom put him down. Tom didn't allow him help from his brother with getting things and picking things up. He even forced their seats apart so his brother couldn't help him. My son was not able to pick up more than 5 lbs or bend and twist for 6 weeks after surgery. My son sat in class every day in pain as his teacher made him feel like he was worthless. Then, Tom kicked my son out of the school because I as his mom called and told him not to talk or treat my child like that. My son wouldn't of went back this year but to kick a kid out because you can't treat him like dirt and get away with it. After my phone call, Tom chose to stop speaking to my son all together and ignore him. My other son graduated this year and his 4 years at this school wasn't good either. He had to teach his self algebra, have a tutor for calculus and took college courses plus self taught his self because Tom chose to use him as a junior staff member instead of letting him graduate a year early when he had already been through every course he was learning for a second time.

The principal and the staff are prejudice against the minority. I read a few reviews and didn't believe it myself until my children became one of their victims. I disregarded the negative reviews and registered my children there due to the pandemic. Six weeks toward the end of the school year, they start attacking your family and your kid by find every little reason to expel my child. For example, they claimed my didn't follow a simple instruction to move his chair closer toward the working group fast enough or yelling at another kid for blocking the way during the staff-managed team racing, etc. They consistently attack my kid and harassing me by calling me to come to pick up my kid for every minor incident. Because they know after you pass a certain timeline, i.e., mid February, you are still liable to pay the entire school year base on their handbook refund policy. So, in other words, they rob you by trying to expel your children after you pass the refund timeline. The school allows children to retake any exams multiple times to bring the student's average grade up. Thus, the high average grade from the school is hype-up and not realistic. DO NOT BE A VICTIM LIKE MY FAMILY AND I, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CATHOLIC SCHOOL. THEY STAFF ARE TERRIBLE AND INCOMPETENCE.

I chose this school because of the curriculum, it's traditions, it's service to the community and the level of decorum it promotes. This school is an All Girls College Prep Catholic school. The school is for grades 6-12. They've won the Blue Ribbon quite a few times. They teach girls to strive for excellence, loyalty, respect themselves (and others) and to be true. The college admission and professional success rate of all alumnae is over 95% for all graduates. If you care about the future success of your daughter and you have the means, this is the school to attend.

This is a strong school academically, and your kid(s) will be challenged no matter what grade. We have been here for over four years and have no thoughts or concerns about changing schools. There is a sense of pride in the teachers and it's fascinating to see where your kid is in the beginning of the year, and how far they have come at the end. It is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of the teachers.

We are very grateful to this school for accommodating our daughter after the year had already…read morestarted, we don't expect they can do this for everyone but it's one of the reasons we loved it so much. The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

Granted, I have nothing else to compare it to as this is my first time going to school in about 15 years. The professors come from a wide variety of studies and parts of the world which contributes to the global aspect of the learning repertoire. The daytime student body is comprised mostly of Chinese students who have little to no work experience. You'll find at more established universities they do not need to rely on this demographic for sustainability. The evening student body is your average full-time worker who brings a lot more to the discussions and group work. The campus is perfection. Brand new building and one of the best locations in the harbor. The staff who works here tries very very hard to keep the building in excellent working order. I'm always impressed with the level of staff here. The officers go above and beyond to maintain a secure building. I love coming to campus. I graduate in a few months and will honestly miss being a student here. I will love and appreciate having Johns Hopkins on my diploma and CV for the rest of my life.
