The New Century School is a great concept but is hampered by the admissions office. The school grounds is spacious for city standards. The separate gym building provides space for birthday parties. They have a indoor climbing apparatus (a somewhat dangerous one), bounce house, and large gym blocks. The space is open and a good size space for birthday parties for smaller kids. For the school itself, the main flaw is the New Century admissions process. It lacks structure, there is one person in charge. The person in charge, DS, is "disingenuous" as described by the first review. Since she alone runs the visits, the applicants are selected based off of her own personal evaluations and thus, her preferences and biases. Determining which 1-2 year old is more qualified than the next seems like a great skill, until its clear she does not look below the surface. We sent our daughter here for 4 years and are are preparing to send our son in fall 2020. We have had a great experiences with kind, knowledgable staff including aftercare. The kids spend a ton of time outside which is fantastic for little brains and bodies! As a teacher, I was impressed with the solid foundational skills my daughter received in her early years (2-5yo). That's why we are going back! Advice: Not every school is for every kid. Find the place you are comfortable with and that matches your style of parenting. The teachers are decent, the language immersion was the draw in. The aftercare staff is sweet and helpful. But the administration, those in charge of finances are not pleasant. The unprofessionalism is at an all time high. I do not recommend this place to anyone; there are other wonderful institutions to send your children this would not be the one. If for some reason your child is unable to attend they want you to pay. A parent asked me do I recommend sending their child here I was always on the fence as I didn't quite love the school from inception. But now I would say no, get your child language teachers elsewhere if that's what important to you. read more

Only one because I can not write zero. Stay away!!!! Note!! on your "interview" if you sense that they are disingenuous .....please believe your gut feeling!!!! They are disingenuous . It felt great the first few months because I was fooled by the fake smiles and empty promises but I grew weary as I saw poor academic results . I realized that the happiness I experienced was based on a mirage and not truly reality. I wished I had followed my gut feeling and not wasted a year of my childrens' time. I removed my daughters after the first year as the teachers seemed agitated by reasonable questions that my wife and I had. The school admin is disorganized, teachers are always late and illiterate. I accepted this at first because I excused them as English was not their first language but the Chinese teachers especially the head teacher can not speak or communicate in English to us or chinese to my girls and can not teach proficiently. The spanish head teacher spoke the worst accent in spanish, I was appalled by the ghetto spanish my children were taught , they sounded like a drunken man. Admin is deaf, dismissive, extremely dishonest and very vindictive. When I started asking questions my children they stopped speaking to me and my kids started coming home dirty and hungry and they both all of a sudden started doing "poorly" , they blamed us and my kids saying they were tired and took no responsibility for not teaching my girls. My daughter was very unhappy and came home with unexplained bruises / injuries as the staff tried to tell me they did not see how that happened and that the kids were supervised . I went there several days in the mornings and evenings and the kids were not supervised. If that is not scary enough older kids were there with preK kids. read more

Just attended the first annual family dance at The New Century School. It was a great family activity for families of all ages. It was so much fun and I look forward to the next one. The camaraderie and the warm welcome received was paramount. read more
