Great school if you're willing to actually put in the work. Not for slackers or who expects a standard public school curriculum.

Please consider looking at Ryan as a choice for your child's education. The teachers, administrators, and staff are very friendly and personable and will help you with anything you need. Ryan offers over 30 clubs and activities as well as many sports (boys and girls) that will help your child find his/her individual interests. The students here are not treated as just a number but for who they really are. This is something that you will not find at other schools. Ryan is a college prep school, it also has a great AP program, and many honors classes. I would love to give it 4 or more stars, but am unable to because of the student body. Overall, you get what you work for in this school. If you want to excel it is more than possible, the teachers tend to be quite helpful and encouraging. I never had any problems seeing teachers after school, and tutoring is readily available for those that ask for it. Class sizes (for most tracks) tend to be quite large, rarely less than 20. The religion aspect of the school isn't pushed much, it's almost on the proverbial back-burner. For that I am appreciative, because reiligion doesn't help you get into (most) colleges. Their sports teams do rather well in the diocese, many after school activities are available - everything from drama to computer science and their Mathletes are legendary. This school uses a track-system, so there is a place for everyone and your not stuck with kids learning at the pace of the slacker. If your in the area and it's convenient, I wouldn't discourage you form attending. But if you can afford better, it's probably worth it because the student body is irksome. read more

I'm so surprised at the unfavorable reviews. It's been 40+ years since I attended Ryan. So I recognize that the culture and curriculum have changed over the preceding decades. Ryan prepared me for the future by having top notch educators and a great curriculum. We (students) were expected to work hard and achieve our best. Those who wanted to learn, did. Ryan has graduated individuals who became doctors, lawyers, politicians, etc. If your child is struggling at Ryan, perhaps you should address the issue with the people who have a vested interest in your child's education. Otherwise, put your child in the public school system. read more

Not a fan.. Ryan has not done anything for my son except cause headaches and heartache.look elsewhere.for a High School

I don't think Ryan is the best choice of high schools, but it was the one our son chose. He had a difficult first year. I don't think the teachers are as caring and helpful as they could be. I think the administration is more worried about whether the students are dressed properly than if their academics are high. I wanted him to transfer, but he didn't want to. I hope it is worth it...right now, I don't think it is. We're paying a lot of money for subpar education. read more
