I've read the reviews here and am truly surprised at the negative reviews. I have a very rare liver…read moredisease which is usually missed for years before a doctor finally stumbles upon the correct diagnosis. I had just moved to Tallahassee when my disease became symptomatic, and Dr. Mangan discovered what was wrong with me within weeks. He coordinates my care with Mayo, and keeps up with all the latest news on possible treatments; not many doctors would do that after handing off a patient to another facility. Because I have been hospitalized multiple times with my illness, I've met most of the doctors in this practice, and have found all of them to be quite competent and caring. In fact, Dr. Singh performed a procedure that at the time only four facilities in Florida were able to do. I **highly** recommend Dr. Mangan and Digestive Disease Clinic.

Every time I eat, regardless of what I eat, I had continued diarrhea episodes beginning 5-10 minutes afterwards. That hardly seems like that would be episodes that would formulate that soon involving the colon. Significant stomach spasms continue and I'm often awaken by them at night, too. To me, the Digestive Disease Clinic seemed to be a colonoscopy mill. Did I ever get the test results made prior to the procedure from them? no. Did I have 2 pre-exams that they referenced in a phone call relative to an aggressive letter I received scheduling an appointment per text message I received only weekend before scheduled unknown appointment (made while i was in TMH ER post colonoscopy.) No. Too, prior to the colonoscopy, I was ridiculed by Dr. Somerset for eating a piece of toast 5 hours before the procedure. Well, I had lost 10 lbs in a week and several neighbors became very aware of that by sight. That much, that fast, the diarrhea, then the colonoscopy prep "destroyed" me. Led me to TMH ER. Ah, but I'm to pay Digestive Disease Clinic a $40 charge for a missed appointment, too, that I never made. These people, from my perspective, are true scammers. AND!!!! nice customer service (in jest) Dr. Somerset. Thank you for your critique that ultimately required me to go to and stay at the TMH ER!

I see a few reviews that only mention an office staff member not doing something with regards to…read moreprescriptions and I wanted to mention that prescriptions are refilled in several ways: You contact the pharmacist for a refill, you log onto the patient portal and submit a refill request, or you ask Dr. Smith to submit the refill while you are there in the office. I never had any issues with any of these three methods. I've been with Dr. Smith for twenty years, as has my daughter. She's always done the right thing, with thoughtful consideration of requests, a thorough knowledge of everyday healthcare issues and a concerted effort to learn more about healthcare issues that are less common. This has led to spot-on referrals to specialists as necessary. I could not begin to say enough about how delightful and wonderful Dr. Victoria Smith is as a doctor and much of her staff is pretty good as well. She does have healthcare students do their internships with her on occasion - so far, they've all been nice. As for the office staff - I, personally, have never had any issues with them. I have heard from my daughter that she doesn't always get the questions answered that she asks when she calls, but when I have her send the questions through the portal - she does get the results she wants. I'm not sure the turnover of secretaries there, so it may be the person who answered the phone when the review here was left (or when my daughter called) is not the same person anymore. I do know that judging Dr. Victoria Smith's practice based on one experience with a secretary is not a reflection of the overall experience I've had there for two decades. Also, any doctor won't know your experience with the secretary if you don't tell them. I know her well enough to know she'd have totally straightened out any situation that would impact the healthcare of her patients. She's got a huge heart.

I wanted an office that would refill all of his medications including his gabapentin without having to send him to a specialist every 3 months for pain management medication. Her office has been extremely helpful and accommodating with helping his condition.
