I booked a private session before my first group class so I would understand the moves a bit as I had zero kickboxing experience, and did not want to feel lost in a class. It was definitely worth it. All the instructors are helpful if you have questions about form. Practice makes perfect and sometimes it takes a minute for you to fully understand what you doing. But if you want your kid to start training in boxing with the intent of truly being able to defend him/herself, if you want a coach who isn't there to cuddle your child, but impress upon them the real skills and the real confidence that will come with it, that's the place I recommend. If you want your kid to lose the soft belly (literally and figuratively), learn boxing and appreciate the grit, sweat and determination that comes with it, give this place a call. I've been severely out of shape since Covid because the gyms shut down, and I didn't feel safe going into a gym once they did open up. I was at my absolute heaviest weight I'd ever been, and getting back into shape seemed daunting. With Olivier's help, I am now building muscle, upping my cardio, and shedding weight. He focused on technique above power, which was really important to me because I came in knowing absolutely nothing and of course I don't want to get injured.
