I trained with Archetype Strength during one of their six week challenges. And I loved every minute! Steve Olson, the owner, provided an easy to follow meal plan and weight training classes at the gym. Classes are scheduled daily Monday - Saturday, with morning, afternoon and evening options available. Steve and the Archetype trainers are knowledgeable and motivational! They are quick to modify workouts to accommodate an injury or limitation due to weakness or otherwise. The gym is clean and stocked with top of the line equipment from rowers, treadmills and bikes to weights, benches, racks and ropes. Every workout is different and I left each session feeling accomplished and stronger! My six weeks in review: Week1: sore, but excited to continue. The meal plan was difficult week1 because I felt hungry and had to retrain my body and mind to eat for nourishment and not out of habit. Week2: down 3 pounds at weigh-in, clothes fit better and I felt stronger after the soreness wore off. Week3: down 1/2 pound, starting to visually notice changes in muscle tone overall and shape of my midsection. Week4: down 2 pounds, body fat percentage has dropped one point since week1. Feeling very energetic! Had to buy a new belt to keep my pants up. Week5: down 2.5 pounds, feeling strong, food on point. Ready to finish this challenge! Week6: weigh out- down a total of 11 pounds in six weeks. Lost a total of 4 inches from my stomach. Feel: amazing, tons of energy, and ready to continue this journey of fitness! Debated on whether or not to post this, but I have to. Created a membership for myself and my partner. Somehow we got access to different gyms. Should have been the first red flag, but I digress. Started going for a couple of months. The equipment is mid. No one puts back their weights, and there doesn't seem to be any accountability for that, a lot of the equipment was broken. I know this is a no frills gym, but I at least thought the equipment would be usable. Only went for about 2 months so I can't say if it was ever fixed. I canceled both memberships in April of 2025, with the understanding that we would pay the month of may, then be done per archetype strength policy. YALL, I AM STILL BEING CHARGED IT IS JULY. I have reached out on numerous occasions to try and get my money back that they STOLE, I had to put a stop payment from my bank to get them to stop charging me. And they are still trying. I spoke with the owner, who assured me my money had been refunded. It's been almost 2 months, and instead of a refund, they are trying to draft money from my account. That's the OPPOSITE of a refund. The owner called my partner to scream at him for leaving an honest review. As an owner, it is shameful to call someone who has, at this point, over paid you for your trash equipment, and scream obscenities at them. I started training with Steve at Archetype end of February 2018. I was in a rut and looking for a program to get me back on track with diet and a training routine. My husband and I have years experience in the gym, training and changing diet to reach fitness goals, so we weren't new to the scene, but that being said, Steve did not disappoint! It's very obvious Steve has the experience and knowledge to help everyone of all fitness levels to reach their goals. Whether you are a beginner just starting out, never picked up a weight before, or you have been lifting for years, you will learn something new. I really liked that he helped focus on proper form when training. I have been squatting for years and turns out I was doing it all wrong! Another added benefit is the diet plans he puts together for each individual. I would recommend Steve and Archetype Strength to anyone looking to get motivated and get a great workout without having to put to much thought into it. You just show up with a willing attitude and get pushed to your limits! It's great! I'm back on track and it feels great. Lastly, he offers childcare so it was convenient to workout in the evenings when I had my kiddos with me. They were close by and I was able to check on them throughout my workout, which is always a comfort. The gym overall seems to be very family orientated. read more

I would give this gym 0 stars if I could. I joined this gym last summer. Fortunately and unfortunately I only did 4 weeks. The program was for 8 weeks. With a commitment of 6 months. Initially I thought it would be good to help me lose the much needed weight that my doctor told me I needed to lose. It was a great program EXCEPT FOR THE GYM OWNER STEVE. He is a vile money hungry soul. And that's putting it lightly. I had to pause my membership because I was having issues with my health (he didn't care), I had a family die (he didn't care). What he did care is that I should drag my depressed, swollen optical nerves grieving self to his gym so he can make money. When I told him about himself and canceled my membership he accused me of stealing a water bottle. The same bottle they give you to join. I told him to kiss my ass and charge me for the bottle because I didn't want shit from him and his gym. Yep and he charged me $15. I don't even care. I had to move to be closer to family due to my health issues. I canceled my membership, unsubscribed and asked to not contact me anymore. So here we are months later and this is the stalking behavior and business he is promoting. read more

This gym has been great for me, I joined the 6-week challenge because I really needed a jump start and also some real training, not just to pop into the gym for a 30-minutes or so. These sessions have totally changed the way I look at training in a short 6 weeks. Besides becoming stronger it has given me the confidence to do things I would have shied away from. I would highly recommend the trainers here, they are knowledgeable and will push you to do your very best. You'll see changes in the first few weeks no matter what your current fitness level. The classes are intense but they are not intimidating because you're not being trained on "display". Oftentimes, in larger gyms, you are working out with a personal trainer as people loiter around equipment, or barely move on treadmills. This is exactly the opposite of Archetype Strength. Every person in the class is completely absorbed in doing the workout, and if you're there to get the benefits of strength training, without the vanity of a wall of mirrors then Archetype Strength is your place. read more

I had a hard time breaking out of my usual workout and diet habits whenever I would try to improve them by myself. So I decided to seek assistance through Steve at Archetype Strength. 6 weeks later I can say that it was one of the best decisions I have made for my fitness and overall health. Steve and the other trainers not only motivated me, but pushed me to do things that I never tried or thought of. They helped me with my form, movements, etc in all my lifts which in turn helped me progress much quicker and safer than I would have on my own. After seeing this progress and growth I couldn't help but sign up for more training and I am excited to see what the future holds with Archetype Strength! read more

Archetype strength is such an amazing gym! The trainers are super helpful with technique and actually fun to be around! The workouts are tough and will work you harder than you've ever worked before. BUT you will see results! I've lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks and have already noticed the toning in my body(especially my stomach and we all know how hard that is to get rid of)!! I joined the 6 week challenge at the beginning of the year when the gym was just opened. The amount of support is amazing and the gym equipment continued to increase. Everyday was a different workout and I definitely can see results. I do encourage those that are doing the challenge to read all of the details to meet your goals successfully according to the contract. I started with archetype at the beginning of the year and did the 6 week challenge. I had a weight gain goal of 15 pounds of which i gained almost 10. Steve did a great job of keeping all of us motivated and there was always something new to look forward to the next day. He does the majority of the work for you with awesome meal plans, diets and plans all workouts. He does give an awesome deal to stay with it, I'm definitely taking advantage! read more

I never felt comfortable working out until I found Archetype Gym. The environment is welcoming, the facility is immaculately clean, and being open 24 hours makes it incredibly convenient. One of the best things is being able to change the music, which really sets the tone for a great workout.
