I want to share my experience as someone who has donated to and shopped at this store, because the…read morecommunity deserves to know what is really happening inside. **The manager's behavior is unacceptable.** He is consistently rude and aggressive with customers -- yelling at people who ask about prices and telling them, "if you like it, take it; if not leave it." What makes this worse is the clear pattern: Hispanic and darker-skinned customers receive hostility and inflexible prices, while white customers are met with a friendlier attitude and better deals. I have witnessed this repeatedly. Whether intentional or not, this is discriminatory behavior and it needs to be addressed. **The wait times on truck days are unreasonable.** On Tuesdays and Fridays when the donation truck arrives, customers are made to wait outside for hours, in the middle of a brutal summer heat. There is no shade, no communication, and no respect for people's time. **The inside conditions are just as bad.** The store has no air conditioning, and the fans are frequently not turned on, making the shopping experience miserable and potentially dangerous. I have personally seen elderly shoppers visibly overheated inside the store. This is a health and safety concern. The store itself is also completely disorganized, making it difficult and frustrating to shop. People donate to Soul Harbor because they believe in the cause. The staff should treat shoppers -- who are also part of this community -- with basic dignity and respect. Right now, they are not.

Yes, they are a little dirty and need to be washed, but the thrill of the find always excites me. The manager always gets someone to help me out with my boxes of treasures. I go every time I get to Ennis and I am always pleased when I leave. If you want clean, bright, organized and easy to find items, don't come here. Not just here & there, but entire store. Sizes are mixed up. Multiple kids clothing items are found in men & women sections. Women & kids shirts in men sections. Dresses are all mixed, not organized by sizes or colors. I was told that management prioritizes quantity over quality. They're pushing employees to put out more items, increasing quantity, & sacrificing quality. I hope they reevaluate their priorities.

When my wife…read moreand I rolled into Waxahachie late one Saturday afternoon and found nearly everything closed, we had no idea that we were walking into Webb Gallery during one of the only times all week when it isn't. The first thing you're likely to notice here is the dog. I hope you like playing with dogs, because the little black Boston terrier in this place is going to bring you toys and expect you to throw them. His little black body is going to blast and shake his way back and forth across the room the entire time you're there. He cares not for art. He cares for play. If you're at all like me, once you managed to lure the hyper little dog close enough to a wall to actually look at the art, you're going to be delighted. I've gone to contemporary art museums, trying to make myself a better person in some way, and spent the whole time trying to understand... anything... really. I read information about the artists and what they're trying to portray, and my brain makes a noise like "buh" and shuts down. Here, though, the art is simply delightful. When we went, there were sideshow posters and paintings like old tattoos. There were small pieces based on elaborate displays of bad puns and large moving displays made of toothpicks. There was cute jewelry like the silver necklace my wife bought with the pendant that just says "blah blah blah." Everything is fun and whimsical and punctuated by the excited grunts of a tiny dog dropping a Gumby toy at your feet. The owners seemed very happy to discuss any of the pieces with us, and knew all about the artists who had created the art. I think they stayed open longer just because we walked in when we did, and at no point did we seem rushed to get out. We felt very welcome and enjoyed every minute of our visit to Webb Gallery. If I ever find myself in the area on a slow weekend afternoon again, I will certainly be stopping in to see what's in their gallery next.
