We couldn't decide what to eat so we got 4 different items and if I am honest they were all AMAZING!!!!!! Seriously this place is a most go! The inside was interesting and maybe poorly done but that didn't even matter because the food was so good. We also had a good laugh with the staff. About 10 people came in for one door dash order. The guy kept saying he didn't get the food and to reorder it. The restaurant caught on the 3rd time but after that it was a laugh every time they dasher came in and gave his name. They were all good sports about it. 100% recommend The Chicken Shanty.

Let me start by saying that went a long way for me, and I held my opinion until I was able to go back. The restaurant has a lot going for it really; a spacious interior, free video games, exterior dining area with a heater and a drive through. As their name implies, their menu is chicken done in various ways with signature sauces, extras like pimento cheese and cranberries, and flavors to take things up a notch. I tried a few menu items; Chicken Salad sandwich with sweet potato fries, breaded chicken sandwich with fries and their signature sauce and traditional buffalo wings, and added a signature beverage; Prickly pear lemonade. Despite the unappealing name, I also tried a Chicken Turd; a chocolate chip coconut cookie. The manager (Alex) was awesome and explained some of the sauces and options to us while taking the order. While waiting, we checked out the games where my daughter won a rubber duckie and discovered a new version of PacMan, and chatted with a very nice new employee on her break, April, who was excited to begin her journey with the company. I appreciated the companies use of eco friendly take out containers and straws as we took our meals to go. The wings were decently sized and juicy. Next time I'll order a side of buffalo wing sauce to drizzle over them. They were served with blue cheese and 5 celery sticks. Having an option to add more (& carrots) would also be nice. The chicken salad sandwich was served on a croissant and was hard to manage without the innards falling out. I don't know if it wasn't dense enough or just what, but what I tasted was good though I don't recall biting into a cranberry. The sweet potato fries were the highlight. The Prickly pear lemonade was refreshing, and they also had Pepsi fountain products. While I've dismissed most of my first experience, I was not a fan of the pumpkin iced tea. My daughter enjoyed her breaded chicken sandwich and fries with her chosen 'Voo Doo' sauce (Habanero Mango), as well as the 'turd', though she agreed the name was pretty ridiculous. No need to go there, it was a cookie and should be called that. Their menu items reflect the current inflation, so you can expect to pay around $15 per person when ordering with a side and drink. Overall, I was pleasantly pleased with the extent that the owner, Tyson, went to ensure I would be a return customer and will, in fact, recommend them to friends and family for just that. I'm glad to have gone back to support another small business.

There is chalkboard tables with chalk, I passed on this, didn't want to handle chalk then eat fries, but clever to bring out your artistic side of you.
