Low prices--and now I know why. Last week a pump malfunctioned. It gave less than 50 cents worth of gas, then stopped. The cashier said sometimes that happens; then he switched me to another pump for the rest of my purchase. Because he was reasonable and quickly resolved the problem (for me, anyway), I would still say this is a good place to buy gas. Unless you're in a hurry. I went to this gas station and when I was getting my coffee. A lady came behind my back and her name is Brenda. She came in with an attitude telling me I should not use two cups for my coffee, but I told her their coffee is so hot and the sleeves did not work as I did get burn before from their coffee. She was so rude and was not listening to what I just told her. She kept repeating with attitude. Then I came up with this idea of using two sleeves instead. It is not as good but at least it is something. Then at the register counter there was a guy I do not know his name he was Hispanic and was wearing his hoodie on his head which is so unprofessional. He was extremely rude and he kept saying ready to pay but the machine has no price like usual on it so we asked him multiple times what was the price but he was so out of it. It is clearly he hates his job. Finally he answered with the biggest attitude on the planet. I just do not understand why hire these kind of people with zero customer service experience and terrible attitude. That guy at the register he was so pissed that he was working. This location does have crushed nuggets ice. There is only 1 employee who gives me issues when buying multiple new cups &/or refills of cup with ice only. But aside from this 1 employee who typically works in the early afternoon, there are no issues. read more

Beyond rude and horrible lady who works here. Not from around this area but came to pick up a family member who broke down and she made him push his truck off the property. Ummm it broke down!! He wasn't leaving it there, he called for help wtffff?! And then some lady was practically in tears bc she needed to use the restroom for a female issue and she told her no. On 2/25/19 at 11:05pm, I went to this Arco to fill up some gas. My ATM card wasn't working, so I went inside to pay $33 in cash for pump 7. I paid with (1) $20 bill, (2) $5 bills, and (3) $1 bills. I asked for a receipt, and was given one, but I didn't immediately look at it as I got it. Walked out, filled up my truck, and the pump stopped at $23. Looked at the receipt and saw that the genius cashier rung me up for $23 instead of the $33 I gave him. Walked into the shop and asked him what was up. He said I paid him $23. At that point, I knew he just cheated me out of $10. He must have been at a very low point in life to risk losing his job over $10. Maybe he needed to fill his heroin addiction, or needed another bottle of booze. Who knows how many other times he's done this to customers. This needs to be brought up to management, as it's giving Arco a bad name (as if going to Arco in the first place wasn't bad enough). I'm not shook though, $10 is nothing to me, and I have plenty more where it came from. At this point, I am going to write it off as a charity for a very low, scummy, and desperate Arco cashier. I have been a very loyal ARCO am/pm customer for many years. I purchase the gift cards regularly and often get them as gifts. I was recently at the am/pm located at 530 N. Brookhurst St., Anaheim, CA 92801 I had a very unpleasant, verbally assaultive, experience with Angie. To say she was unprofessional and disrespectful - is putting it kindly. The manner in which she spoke to me should never happen to a customer or to anyone. I pulled up to pump #6 and there was a gentleman on the opposite side who kindly told me that he accidentally told the cashier that he had put $20 on pump #6 and had gotten the pumps mixed up. He proceeded to take the nozzle and stretched it to the opposite side where his car was parked. When he realized it wouldn't reach, he went inside the am/pm. At that point, my ARCO gas card would not work so I pressed "cancel" and it asked if I wanted a receipt, to which I responded, "yes". A receipt printed out with a total of $2 and some change, for a beverage. I slid my ARCO card into the pad, and it said, card balance $50. I proceeded to pump the gas. At this point Angie marches out of the am/pm with the gentleman, and with fists clenched and angry eyes, confidently accused me, "You are pumping gas with this man's $20." I handed the receipt to her that the machine had printed out displaying the $2 and some change charge. I couldn't believe that I heard her just say this. I wanted to believe the best, but it was really difficult at this point because she was aggressive, angry, bullying, and accusing. She did not ask me - she told me that I was doing this. I produced the $50 ARCO gas card and showed it to her and calmly said, "No, I am not using his $20. I am using this $50 ARCO card." She grew angrier and more indignant and loudly accused me again, "No, you are not, this machine does not take those cards. You have to go inside to use the card. You are using his $20 to pump your gas." Now I was getting angry and I felt myself began to shake. She had not only accused me of stealing the man's $20, now she's accused me of lying and that I didn't really use the gas card because you can't use them at the pump. I've been in customer service since 1977 in different formats, and have worked for major customer service known companies that most businesses model their customer service from. I'm also a hairstylist and a journalist, so I am used to talking with people in a respectful manner. I was well-dressed and have a nice car. So it's not like I looked questionable and was acting shady. Customer service lesson number 1: never accuse a customer of stealing. Lesson number 2: never accuse a customer of lying. I could not believe that someone who is supposed to be in customer service, and for a very well known oil company, such as ARCO am/pm, would be talking to me this way - but it was really happening. At this point, rather than continuing to argue, I pointed at the pump that I was at $38 and some change. I said to her, "I'm using my gas card, it says $38. If he gave you $20 then how am I putting in $38?" She gets an, "oops" look on her face and turns to the gentleman, and begins to ask him in Spanish about the amount. Then she angrily turned on her heels and walked back into the am/pm with the man behind her. She didn't even acknowledge me. While he was in the am/pm, I saw the gentleman on his cell phone. I figured he was speaking with his bank trying to figure out what happened to the $20. The man came out later and apologized to me. He said that I had canceled the transaction and he was only charged for the beverage and not for the gas. I went into the am/pm and there were two lines of people waiting to be rung up. I showed Angie my ARCO receipt and card, but she wouldn't look at them. She just kind of nodded her head in a go-away, get lost, I'm busy, motion. I told her, "You accused me of stealing this man's $20." Without looking at me, she pridefully replied, "I did not accuse you of stealing." I responded resolutely, "Yes you did. And you didn't even apologize." To which she replied in a caustic manner, "I'm sorry." I told her that I would be letting the owner know about her behavior. How awkward it was for me to be placed in this very uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. To be accused of stealing and lying is bad enough - let alone in front of other customers; that should never happen. She was not only rude, she was extremely unprofessional, and should not be working in a business environment with her attitude and lack of emotional stability. I sincerely thought that ARCO would do a better job in customer service training, as well as training their employees that customers can use ARCO cards at the pump. There are many gas station/Convenience Store choices for consumers, and plenty of ARCO stations. And maybe they are owned by the same person -maybe they are not - but I will definitely take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

Customer service is more like customer abuse after sitting on hold for over 30 minutes you then have to start all over just to try to pay your account. And god forbid you pay late, because they will really screw you on fees and charges. They keep changing their website and now you have to use some obscure data payment system. Worst customer service EVER. I came here on a Saturday night around midnight and had a gift card I wanted to use. I normally go inside when it's that late and there was an attendant there who had a line of 6 people. The reason? DAVID chatted IN SPANISH with each and every customer about 3-5 minutes AFTER the transaction was done. Geez, can't you see there's a huge line waiting? When I get to the front, he speaks to me in SPANISH, even though I'm Asian, and then in POOR broken English tries to run my transaction. Now I've used Gift cards at Arco before and I know that sometimes the machines have to run it a certain way, like a credit card. He tries it once, tells me "it no work" and then declines me, even though it's clearly a brand new card. I explain that sometimes he needs to run it another way and he looks at me and clearly since he DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH tells me I have to go to another station. He prints out a receipt that says "customer changed mind" to cover his butt, and then ignores me. I call up customer service on the phone and they tell me to tell him to run it differently but of course it doesn't work BECAUSE HE DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. For whoever is the manager/owner of this station: -train your employees to accept Gift Cards, especially since I read so much about how they try to lure you in the store to buy things. How can I buy things when the employees don't know how to ring things up, ESPECIALLY GAS? All I wanted was just GAS! -employ people that speak ENGLISH. read more

I really try to avoid using this station. In the past, it seems, no matter what island I tried I ALWAYS had a problem with the pump accepting my credit card. (no problem elsewhere) I just stopped going to this particular gas station. Tonight, however, I had no choice. My car overheated and this was the closest station to where I parked to let it cool off. I went to the water/air station. First off, never mind free, but this station charges 75 cents. Fine, whatever. I grab the water hose and to my horror, there is no handle. Just the stub where the handle obviously broke. I try pushing on the stub to try to get some water. No dice. I am now forced to go in the store and BUY some water. I tell the cashier that I should get a 75 cent discount since there was no sign alerting customers that the water hose was broken and I just wasted 75 cents. Now many of you are, at this point saying 75 cents is no big deal. I am not rich, to begin with. I barely make it paycheck to paycheck, renting out a room. But even if I was rich, it is the principle of the thing. Also, I just did NOT like her apathetic attitude. (she basically said "whatever" without actually saying "whatever") You know the quickest way to get me angry? Steal my money and give me a "whatever" gesture. In full disclosure, I did not react very well. I asked if we were being recorded, found the nearest camera, turned to it, and said loudly "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!" accompanied by the world famous Italian Hand Gesture. Cashier mumbled, (as she took my money for the water I was forced to buy-I have now spent $3.75) that what I did was, "more unacceptable." I mumbled a profanity aimed at her direction. (I'm not proud of this, I am no saint, but you get me mad and you get the horns of the profane inner child demon, that's just how it is) In any case, she asks me what I said. I toy with the idea of actually repeating it. I don't. I say, "Oh, nothing." She says "I thought so." in a smug little apathetic way. I used this ARCO out of sheer desperation I should have used my better judgment and gone across the street to the other gas station first mistake. I used my card at the self service island which was my second mistake because the line was out the door that evening. I have been getting fraudulent charges since 1/18/2013. I called the station first and talked with a Lady whom called herself the Manager" Gabby". She barely spoke the English language. The first thing the manager wanted from me was my credit card number. I stated that did not feel comfortable nor did I trust giving my credit card number again to a place that already engaged in fraudulent activity and wanted to talk to the owner. The manger refused to give me the owners name or when I could call back to talk to him/her. I asked for the mangers last name so I could reference this with corporate when I called the lady stated " I will not give you any more info until you give me more information". When I refused again The manger gave me a local number and called it the corporate office number I looked it up on Google and it reversed it back to the same station. After I called the real Corporate office I called back and asked one more time to ask for the owner the same Manager answered (this time the lady spoke better English). To ask for when the owner would be in the manager "Gabby" would not give me any information. The gas station employee/employees there are obviously engaging fraudulent activity. I recommend that everybody stay away from this gas station as they will rip you off. Also do not call the number that they give you 714-781-2999 which is a direct line to the gas station. If I could easily track it back to a second line at that gas station just with using Google imagine what these underhanded employee's could do. Just be careful... i went to this gas station because it was convenient for me to pay with cash and not have to go inside with my three kids to wait in the long line! i had put in a $20 bill in the usual pops up and says your pump #8 is ready but when i go to pump my gas it didn't work so i went inside really quick the cashier tells me u put only $15 only but then when the manager shows up they said there was no money at all in the pump! so Gabby comes out with money to show me that the terminal clearly works and tells me that i might have push in the wrong number after i told her no i didn't she goes into the back to check the cameras and tells me that i never even put in my money she said the video showed i didn't! then with my kids she tells me to go to the back and see the video so we went. as she played the video it clearly shows me putting the money into the terminal. can i remind you Gabby told me that the video shows me not putting in my money but from what i saw it clearly shows me putting in my money.
