Honestly how do you expect to make any money if you're not serving a customer. Another incident happened and as an Asian person in this community I felt really disrespected being called a Ching Chong. It's a pretty big inconvenience that only cash and debit cards ($0.35 fee) are accepted; NO credit cards! But.... if you're looking for the cheapest gas and don't want/need the additives that Chevron/Shell/76 add (they claim extend the life of your engine) this is probably your best bet! Plus they are usually high volume/turnover shops so you're guaranteed to have relatively fresh gas (not old gas that's been sitting in the tank of Bob's Country Gas for 3 months soaking up water vapor). read more

You can look around for cheaper gas prices and they are out there but in my neck of the woods. This is the best price on gas week after week. The staff are all great. They whip cars through here as fast as the drivers can get back to their cars and drive away. It's a convenient store so don't go looking for good food or great alcohol at low prices or good taste cuz your at AM/PM/ARCO for one thing. For the love of food, please stay away from what I assume is edible whatever that stuff in the back is! There is a reason they sell two hamburgers for super cheap. (psst. It's not all beef. I've had mixed experiences at this ARCO. For the first time ever, my car had a check engine light come on after I bought gas here. It was during the wet season, so I wondered if when the station got its last delivery water somehow got in the mixture. Pump attendants here have always been brief but nice but inside the AMPM is a bit of a different story. One time I was using ARCO gift cards and that did not go over very well. read more

Probably one of the nastiest places ive been in my life! How do I even start this off... Before i even entered there was feces next to the door, i dont even want to think where it was from... when i walked in there was a sticky puddle of whatever. I was regretting my choices at this point. I was dehydrated so i told myself i needed to get something before i go anywhere! My God... even the handles of the refrigerators were sticky! It was almost like a goo. Once i opened the refrigerators door it was like i was SLAPPED with a horrendous smell, the same smell like you havent washed your bellybutton in months. I nearly puked.. but i had to finish what i came there for. When i walked up to the counter i saw a bunch of used cigarettes and papers, the place was just disgusting. He asked if i was going to get anything more and i said "no, this is all i need" and he seemed insulted by that.. the employee handled my items very poorly, felt like he was going to throw the bag at me... I've never had a problem at this Arco before. It's usually in the top 5 of cheap gas in the SE area if you pay in cash... And the attendants are pretty quick and friendly... But the girl behind the counter is a name I can't say on Yelp. Yesterday, I went in to pay for my gas, but there was a line. A few of the people were standing there because they were going to pay cash on their fills, so they let me go ahead on pay. I handed her my money and said, "6" because that was the tank I was at. I realized I didn't tell her how much of that cash I was putting in, so she looked at it and said, "$30 on 6?" And I said, "Yes." I go back out, and my gas wasn't pumping yet. We stood there and the attendant didn't know what was going on, so he was trying to talk to her over the system. She kept saying it was pumping, and he was like, "No it's not" multiple times. Finally, he came back to me and said, "She wants to talk to you inside." I go back inside and she said, "You told me 7, so someone else got your gas." I never said 7. I said 6, and she repeated it to me with my payment. And of course, I had paid in cash, so I didn't have records of anything. So I told her, "I said 6, and you even repeated me. No one said 7." So she said, "No, you said 7 and you're on 6." Luckily, there was a gentleman still in there that had been waiting on his fill. So I said, "Sorry to bring you into this, but you've been here this whole time. You heard both of us say 6, right?" And he nodded his head and smiled. This girl then goes on to say, "Well, they must've told me 7, but you should know your own number so I don't charge the wrong tank." And so I had to fight back by then since she was still blaming other people. I said, "YOU put in the information. WE BOTH said 6. YOU pushed the wrong button. Don't blame me, don't blame them. Say sorry and fix it." She wouldn't look me in the eye anymore and just said, "You'll get your gas." And then she has the guts to announce over the system, "Make sure the customers know which tank they're at so they don't pay for the wrong tank." So I had to turn around again, even though I was ready to leave, to say, "We had the right number. I said it first and you CONFIRMED it. Don't blame other people for messing up." I went back outside and yelled to the attendant from across the lot, "She's blaming you now!" He just laughed and shook his head. He joked, "Yeah, everything is everyone else's fault, right?" And when I was waiting for the gas, the guy that backed me up was done with his fill and I gave a big thanks to him. He just smiled because the whole situation was pretty ridiculous. Now I just want to find someone contact information for the actual owner because that was not ok. You don't start off by blaming other people. You can say what happened, even though you're still wasting my time by not just fixing it off the bat. But she came at me, blaming me for something that obviously wasn't true in the least. Steal money, this arco gas station must have added some secret liquid into the gas. I added number 87 gas there. My gas tank technically looks like full. Used to drive 420 miles, now only have 360 milliage driving. 60 milliage gas was stolen by this Arco Gas station, SE Holgate Blvd Portland,97266. I normally purchase in different arco, safeway, Fred Meyer and some other cheap gas stations, not have this problem before. read more
