I have been a patient at Arete for 4 years. Recently, the quality of care and dismissive actions was poor. I was billed unnecessarily just for asking questions in the portal. The front desk staff was not helpful towards answering questions every time I would call. The front desk was not only unfriendly but they would talk to me in a cold and mean manner. My provider refused to answer my direct questions on the portal and via phone calls when I called every day. Instead, she billed me for "researching". When all I asked for was a referral- I did all the research myself. Not only did I feel like my care was dismissed but I was neglected and billed extra after messaging in the portal which I was not informed about. read more

Went there for two years - during that time, after providing extensive information about my medical history, they repeatedly failed to have major conditions logged in my records, which led to poor and inadequate care, gaslighting, and frustration. They often didn't fully listen, assuming they knew what I would say and not really hearing me or addressing my concerns. Then they started charging for questions or follow up communication through the portal - that was the final straw. They made the excuse that "other places are doing that too" and "you probably didn't realize since it was in the fine print on a form we had you sign." I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

The doctors are kind and straightforward. Wait times are better in the morning. The front desk staff is nice and fixes problems promptly.

Our family doctor retired this year and closed his practice, so we decided to give Arete a go after another doctor mentioning their practice. They're located in the AK Regional medical buildings. They have a lovely facility, clean, bright and friendly. Their office staff is quite nice and we enjoyed friendly conversation with them. The doctor's had a great sense of humor, which we both thoroughly enjoyed! We've been there a couple times and for the most part, felt taken care if. The annual physical was very different from what we have been use to over the years. That may just be a change in the time and a way that doctors differ in their care?! Bedside manner was excellent from everyone... medical assistants and doctors! Lab work was done in-house, the day of the appointment rather than in advance and results discussed... neither of us cared for this method, but we were informed we can do them earlier in the future. They're fairly quick to return calls and they utilize a web based portal to get messages and lab results to you, which is nice. Overall... I'd definitely recommend them for your everyday family practitioner needs! read more

Arete really disappointed me . I won't get into details but the appointment was very difficult for me and I went in and waited longer than actually seeing the doctor. She was very rushed with my appt and didn't seem to care why I was there, she pretty much came in and said a few words and walked out. I thought doctors were meant to be compassionate and want to build a connection with their patient. read more

I had a family emergency at 1:09 on a Friday afternoon and had to try to arrange travel for that night but needed a Covid test before I could go. My primary care physician (who I really appreciate) didn't do covid tests for travel. Arete does. I called their # at 2:33 (looked at my phone log) and they scheduled me for a telehealth at 3:00. 27 minutes later! I drove to their location and clicked the link they texted me. Promptly at 3 the PA, Tara Wood, came on and did my assessment. She was super professional, compassionate, and courteous. They sent a nurse out to do the swab around 10 minutes later. To easy. They called me with the results at 4:29 that night allowing me to book my travel that day. We are not living in a perfect world but this was about the most perfect outcome anyone could reasonably ask for. Everyone of the staff that I interacted with were just simply kind and understanding while I was stressed to the gills. If I needed a new Primary Care I would not even consider going anywhere else. read more

I've been going here since around the time they opened. Something has changed over the last 6 months and people are rude and nasty when they speak to you. They now give Covid test you don't consent too and when questioned when you get the bill for said test (insurance doesn't pay anymore) you get "it's office policy to give this test to anyone now" I tried to talk to the billing manager Rachael who was super rude from the start and accusing me of lying. I really feel like forcing these test on people is a cash grab and a scam to us patient who come in trusting them to provide us care we came in for not more we don't ask for. read more

The price and value are good, however they are very irresponsible when it comes to phone communication. They gave me a call, left a voicemail, I called them back twice after that, leaving voicemail and got no call back. Had to stop by and talk to them in person. It was a couple of hours later and the front desk lady didn't seem to be busy. read more

Be careful and read carefully what you sign! My first visit was over $700 because I was billed for two appointments. Beware! PA Nicki Naylor did not do a chart review and charged me for a full exam only for me to explain all my past medical history to her and sent on my way. Would not recommend this clinic to any of my loved ones or friends. read more

This clinic was set-up with doctors and staff who used to be at Family Medical Park. I adored the doctor's there, didn't love how medical park was managed/ran. So when my doctor moved here I was happy to give them a shot. Getting my medical records over there was a breeze, I got an appointment right away and was seen timely. When I had a mild emergency a few days later, I was able to be seen same day. They handle both of my insurances and I feel like all the staff cares about me and remembers me and soothes some of the doctor anxieties I have. I will be sticking with them as my primary care. read more

I had my first visit with Dr. Nieder today. From the time I walked through the door to getting my labs drawn and leaving, my experience was fantastic. The front desk was quick and personable and I did not have to wait past my appointment time. The nurse or MA who brought me back was friendly and knowledgeable and Dr. Nieder came in as soon as she was finished. Dr. Nieder was kind and personable. She addressed all of my concerns and did not make me feel rushed. She didn't talk down to me at all and explained everything clearly. I felt like she was working with me instead of telling me what to do. I cannot recommend this clinic enough. read more

This Dr. & clinic only seems concerned about generating bills. Dr. Timothy Coalwell of Medical Park Family Care prescribed a Renal Kidney Sonogram prior to my annual physical based on lab work, during my physical he said the test was negative and was not done based on my lab work, and that he prescribed it because I was overly anxious and not satisfied with any other explanation ? I guess that was his way of punishing me for asking questions and being my own health care advocate. 10 minutes latter he prescribed another unnecessary test for me, when I refused the 2nd test, for symptoms I did not have, he dismissed me and my family from his practice, and cancelled all my necessary prescriptions drugs he prescribed. In my opinion Dr. Coalwell and his clinic only seem to be concerned about generating bills versus my health. read more
