My children are the same age, were put in different classes and then one of them was mistakenly put in an entirely different grade from their sibling this year. Neither the school nor the teacher disclosed the issue or tried to figure out a solution, I found out and tried to address it. Their response and action essentially caused emotional damage to my child that they continue to talk about 6 months later. There are no safety measures on campus, as a parent, I was never informed about any procedures - fire drills, armed strangers on campus or active shooters, nothing. Before and after care is basically outdoor play with little supervision (depending on the teacher). If I had known about the quality of the education, the lack of safety, lack of support for IEPs...I would never have enrolled them. While this school excells in teaching work habits, it seems somewhat lacking in teaching social habits. You will most likely not have the same social-life experience that most high schools offer. Relationships between students seem strictly taboo similarly to relationships with coworkers. Despite this, I found my best friend here, and had a wonderful experience I will never forget. Now, with the exception of the students lending a hand of almost nothing (one didn't know the street that was facing the exit & the other didn't know how to exit to the parking lot), hope they are getting good grades nonetheless. Upon entering there were a few group of campaign workers who respected people's space & not force any persuasion. The signage made it easy to get to the polling place that was located in the Gymnasium, check in & cast your ballot. Thanks to the Volunteers for making the Voters comfortable while casting their votes. This polling location was open to 7PM.

She is very shy and very withdrawn at the beginning of the year but with the help of Ms Paley and a theater class, she has emerged from her shell. And her love for art encouraged by Ms Ely has let her express herself. Her struggles with math almost broke her but the patience and encouragement she excelled with the help of Mr Snyder and Ms Rau. Generally, this middle school was okay and I went through it fine, but for some reason the culture there was a little trashy. I don't know. The high school(WJ) was significantly more classy and preppy, but this middle school was a little bit nasty. I liked the classes I took and all the electives I could take. It did prepare me for high school. At that time in the mid-90s, alternative rock music was famous and Friends was on TV. It was a good time in the US. We liked meeting other schoolmates in middle school and going through high school, but it got a bit dramatic and cliquey...as well there are some snobby people and you just had to sit through it all in high school because after all, you are not in private school!!

I truly believe any facility dedicated to the education of our future (our children) should be given five stars. I was a little perplexed about the size of the lockers. They look like they belonged in an elementary school. In this day and age where high schoolers are 10 feet tall, I don't think they should have to get on their knees to get in and out of their lockers. Maybe that is their exercise for the day. Who knows. The school was very clean and their trophy case was loaded. I would have taken a picture, however I hate to be in pictures (via reflective glass).
