I feel morally compelled to write this review so that no one else is victimized by this firm. Going through a divorce is hard enough without being victimized by the "attorneys" who are supposed to be helping you. I hired Argyris Mah after reading a few positive reviews and having an encouraging first phone call. I know - not enough. Do your research. These people will rob you and give you nothing in return. I'm assuming they populate any positive reviews themselves, although I see many more negative reviews now than I did previously. Arlette/Andrea are unethical, outrageously inefficient bill runners - not lawyers. You cannot get away fast enough. Seriously - run. I'm an executive and have worked with all kinds of corporate entities, and yet I still got sucked in by these people. My divorce case cost me over $100,000 in less than 8 months and I emerged with absolutely *nothing* to show for it, forcing me to fire them and start at zero with a new firm, $100k in debt. We made no progress, in fact, I was encouraged to escalate with my ex, file counter-this-and-that, subpoena, depose (cha-ching) when really all I wanted to do was get it done and my ex and I were actually quite reasonable with each other. Until this firm. I did much of the financial organization, drafting of documents, etc myself just trying to help Arlette/Andrea/Viktoria/Natima get my pleadings right for court hearings and make some progress. I think ever divorcing person's goal is to end it. Not with these people. I met with Arlette ONE time - once - after which she delegated me to anyone in her office that would pick up the phone and do her work. At a two-day mediation the paralegal showed up, not her. Arlette was beyond rude, angry, short-tempered and unhelpful to me - oh! And also will neglect to tell you until the day she leaves that she's going on medical leave or vacation - did that twice to me in 8 months, despite the time-sensitive help I needed. When their massive bill doubled in size in two months, Arlette informed me she wouldn't show up at a hearing unless I paid it. (I paid it. She was a no show anyway.) I learned from my new attorney - hired after Arlette Argyris - that it's unlawful to threaten a client to stop representing them if they don't pay their current bill, and she advised reporting it to the CA State Bar Association. Especially since they wouldn't take my call until I paid my bill, and we're talking about $20,000 per month on average. Still wouldn't answer my call. I was a single parent with an absentee ex, covering all the kids' expenses by myself, parenting 100% alone, and working full-time. They do not care nor do they have any strategy other than to bury their own clients. In my life I've never experienced such awful treatment from people I hired than I did with Arlette Argyris and Andrea Mah. They will DROWN you in legal bills, attitude, rudeness, threats to torpedo your divorce case and leave you hanging. You'll open your bills that have tripled in two months and be asking "but what did this get me?" and the answer is: nothing. Literally - nothing. When I finally fired them and found a new attorney and brought over documentation from Argyris Mah, the new attorneys were appalled at the missing filings, sloppiness, and overall lack of work. They were truly shocked and apologized on behalf of their profession. My new attorney said "these types of people are the reason clients hate lawyers". I had to pay my new law firm to re-do all of the "work" I'd already paid six figures to Arlette Argyris to do, because it wasn't even close to being admissible in court, it was so sloppy. I finalized my case with the new law firm in six months, starting from scratch. I'm not a negative review kind of person, but in this case, when vulnerable people - going through a family break up, no less - are your MAIN customer, it felt important to warn anyone considering this firm. Find anyone else but these people. They do not care what you're going through, no matter how much you (and your kids) are being victimized by your ex. Look elsewhere if you need help with your divorce, you will not find it at Agryis Mah. read more

Ms. Argyris is a fraud. She is are after people's money without wanting to work on representing them or their case. Mr. Argyris booked a 2 hour consult with me with $1000 and god knows who gave her permissions to my file. She charged me for an hour of review of my file before even I meet her - when I had not given her permission or any documents before my meeting!!!! Further she has her Avvo reviews are disabled so you cant post any reviews - it results in error message. Ms. Argyris started chasing me to take up my case when I tried to avoid her before a court hearing after the consult. Then started to sell flat fee after my court hearing again to trap me for money. Inspite of repeated requests would not give me a billing by hour contract and started selling she has to make room for my case after removing other cases - selling tactics. She would never responded to my emails, nor meeting requests, last minute did not show up for a meeting, and had to be reminded for upcoming court procedures after taking flat fee. AVOID HER SHE IS A FRAUD. Further I had posted a review in Oct;2and the firm asked yelp to remove it along with another review I had read that had similar complaints about this attorney's behavior. I hired this firm to help me with my very simple divorce. They had sucked over $20k from me and I'm in a worse position than I was when I hired them. They provided no advice with regard to the divorce process. They made exorbitant charges for minor work on my case. They screwed up a few times and blew it off to human error. Very unethical, unresponsive and poor communication. They make lots of mistakes and you need to constantly review your invoice because they will charge you for those mistakes. They also have had a lot of turn around in the last year. The lawyer that was working on my case for over a year was just gone one day. She did make a lot of mistakes and lied in court, so I can understand what happened. They also aren't very honest and will keep important information about your case away from you, unlit opposing counsel brings it up. I wish I knew the truth about this firm before I hired them. They wasted 18 months on my case and still couldn't get it resolved. They also will make threats to drop you if you don't have a positive amount in your retainer with them and they say they will charge you for filing the substitution.
