I can't imagine any ballroom being below 5-stars. I mean, it's the happiest kind of place there is, and something would have to be seriously wrong with one for it to be not-perfect. Aria is a great, great place for dancing - both to learn and for social dances. I am part of Swing Kids at UW, and one of the current instructors here (Ben) manages the place. I come here for swing dancing, and the price ($2 discount for UW students, yay!), the music (live bands!), the crowd is all on point. Details I love: the bathrooms are spacious and single-use only, which is a relief. As someone who positively hates using a cubicle with huge gaps at the door hinge, this is great. They have little lockers to store your belongings, and also a coat rack. The designers of this place clearly put a lot of thought into planning it! Two weeks before our wedding we decided we wanted to take dance lessons. We called and they were able to work with our tight schedule to make it happen! Neither of us know anything about dance, but Catherine made us feel really comfortable and had great teaching techniques. We had so much fun just taking the dance lessons! Nice neighborhood place with a serious ballroom program. Here are some cool things about Aria: - a logical progression of classes. For example, you can take bronze, high bronze, and silver levels of any latin dance over 3 successive months, and then add in a technique class. - Instructors joke around, but they have old school dance training and aren't afraid to correct you or drill the class into order. - one of the instructors I like is Kat. She organizes her classes clearly, models the steps well, and gives advice on technique as needed. It's even better when Peter helps her teach because he adds the leader's perspective. - oh, and you have to check out Kora's larger-than-life bombshell outfits. The main gripes are: many classes happening at once (but that's how they keep prices reasonable); and their computer system rarely seems to work (but if there's an error they give the customer the benefit of the doubt). read more

Run by Blackpool Competitors who regularly place Top 48 in the world in their art, this is a great place to get super detailed and great dance instruction in the arts of International Latin and International Standard ballroom instruction, as well as American Smooth and American Rhythm (and if you don't know what these mean don't worry, they will teach you and get you on the right path to your goals). Not only are their great instructors here, but they are great coaches in guiding you towards your ultimate ballroom goals, be it social dance or competitive aspirations. They teach all ages and have a great youth program as well. Beyond all this the owners and all the instructors really great people to work with and make a very welcoming, stress free and productive learning environment. If that weren't enough the prices are great too, about the cheapest I've found including places where the level of instruction couldn't hope to compete. I've enjoyed great instruction, welcoming friendship and active social and dance Calendar at Aria ballroom and would recommend any and everyone to give it a try. If you've danced before and are looking for a great place to improve your skills and grow, Aria can take you right to the top of your craft. If you've never delved into the world of ballroom dancing you are missing out on a world of wonder, fun and week full social calendar to expand your enjoyment in life, and Aria gives you the best of all these worlds. We stumbled on this place when searching for a place to learn our wedding first dance. Turns out this is the best idea. Sofie was our instructor and we can't thank her enough! She was able to mix up the songs we gave her and gave great suggestions on what would work best for us. She choreographed a dance routine that fit our skill levels and that all our guests really enjoyed. She was always very patient and professional throughout the entire time we took lessons with her. read more

i'm taking lindy classes here by eastside stomp. the dance floor is great. it's stable and smooth. there are mirrors on one wall if you need to watch yourself or secretly watch others. no judgement. it's fairly big and very open. since there arent any windows it can get stuffy in there during a hot day, but once the doors are open it creates and draft and that works out pretty well. parking is not an issue. however, i am always there early so not really a problem. people are generally nice and it's a safe environment. there are plenty of room for non dancers too if you want to watch or take a break. make a visit. take a class. try a dance. read more

There's ample parking and floor size is decent. They offer many classes throughout the week. The classes, once purchased, never expire. And people there in general are pleasant. My favorite is Sat. night dance party. Currently, the class prior to the party is free. And there's always snack & drink. The average skill level of the dancers is quite good. Class + Party is 4 hours, enough to scratch that dancing itch. Like many dance studios, it is still rather traditional. But at least you won't feel the pressure to sign up for private classes here. I moved from another city and was looking for a new studio. I heard good things about Aria and its owners. So I emailed before I came. No answer. I showed up, and signed up for their introductory package, which was some classes and two private lessons. I took the intermediate class over the objections of the front staff. I took the "advanced" class which wasn't bad, but it was a silver class. I asked how to set up the private lessons. The guy at the desk told me to talk to the instructors individually. I asked how to arrange that and he said that I would just have to meet them myself. Although I made it clear, I thought, that I was a serious student who usually dances most days of the week, they weren't interested. I guess they are busy enough and don't need any more students. I'm very happy in another studio. there are two stars only because the space is nice. read more
