When we switched due to moving, my daughter was at first upset because at age 11.5 she was about to start pointe at the other studio. What I really loved right away was how she was immediately evaluated to see if she was even ready for pointe. Ms. Shannon did a fantastic job explaining in great detail where my daughter had a few weaknesses in her ankles, and proper body alignment. She was given detailed notes on how to strengthen and correct things to get her ready to start pointe. As a mom new to dance all together, I would have never known this if I let the other studio just put her on pointe without evaluating to see if she is truly ready. My daughter really took a good understanding of this and followed the instructions to work hard to get herself strong enough. The process may have taken a little longer but we both felt so happy knowing she wouldn't be putting her body at risk by rushing into it. Now she's on her third pair of pointe shoes and progressing more and more every class. We are so happy here and love all of the staff. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you're comparing other studios. My daughter is very happy we switched after all. She's making new friends and loving the variety of classes too.

If you're looking for a welcoming community for your little, this is the place I would highly recommend!

Considerable difficulty getting in touch with anyone through both email and phone (MANY unreturned…read moremessages). Staff seems stretched too thin and instructors don't seem to always know what's going on have been quick to anger (scold entire classes, shame individuals in front of the class, or send mixed messages) which has been discouraging and stressful to many of the girls even if they aren't the one directly in the firing line. While class prices are reasonable, recital and costume fees are astronomical compared to other studios (especially considering some outfits are sourced through SHEIN are very low cost) and you are still required to purchase specific earrings and makeup- so plan on $300+ per recital... you will also be required to shell out more for tickets to actually see your child perform which could be multiple times over 2-3 days. Also be aware that some of the classes for older girls have had routines and costumes that are not always quite appropriate for someone under 18 and are borderline objectionable- not only uncomfortable for the dancer but also many times for the audience. If you're looking for anything above a basic class for a young beginner, I'd suggest checking out other studios that might be a better fit.

I used to hate working out. Joining this community completely changed the way I see fitness. Being surrounded by such strong, inspiring women motivated me to show up, wake up early, and actually feel excited to try. One of my favorite things is the variety of classes. There really is something for everyone, from Latin Sculpt to Barre to Bounce to Mat Pilates and Yoga Strong. Every day I can switch it up depending on how I'm feeling, and that honestly makes me even more excited to go. I've now completed almost 400 classes, and I'm so proud of how far I've come. I feel stronger, healthier, and more confident, and I've also met some truly amazing people along the way. What I love most is that this became more than just a workout class, it became a moment in my day where I could take care of myself and genuinely feel happy while moving my body. I'm moving away this summer, and leaving is bittersweet because this place has meant so much to me. I can honestly say it's so much more than a fitness center, it's a real community. If you're in the area and thinking about trying it, I really recommend giving it a shot. Even if you're someone like me who never thought they'd enjoy working out, you might be surprised by how much you end up looking forward to it.

Both of my daughters have been dancing here since they were 18…read moremonths old--now they're 7 and 5--and it's been such a positive experience every step of the way. The classes are always age-appropriate, with just the right balance of fun and challenge as they've progressed. The recital costumes are adorable and thoughtfully chosen for each age group. We've had the chance to work with many of the teachers over the years, and every one of them has been wonderful. The office staff is also incredibly supportive and welcoming. This studio has truly nurtured and grown my girls' love for dance!

The studios themselves are quite nice and spacious. They play good music at a nicely moderate…read morevolume, and often allow you to use your own. I have only taken open pole so far, though I've been doing so pretty regularly, and there have been a couple of instances of start time being later than scheduled, but not by much... and they always let you stay a little later when that happens. It's not usually a problem for me, since I tend to get there a few minutes late sometimes anyway. So just be aware that if you're a stickler for things starting on time, that may not always happen here. There have been a couple of instances of last-minute canceling of class, which was disappointing for me. They are good about texting you and letting you know, though I do wish they wouldn't cancel so close to the class starting time. If they absolutely have to cancel class, I would appreciate a few hours notice at least. For some reason, for the last two days I've had trouble navigating the website and the app... neither would allow me to sign in to a class. I've never had this problem before, so I'm not quite sure what's wrong yet. Both Oceanside and Encinitas are nice beach towns, too. So that's definitely a plus.

Neither of us had any dance experience besides dropping it low at the club back in the day ( elder millennials ) so this was nerve wracking for us at first. We found McCann dance via another yelp review and booked the intro lesson on a whim. We ended up with Elisa McCann who happens to be an INCREDIBLE professional dancer and a fantastic teacher!! We had 7 weeks to get a dance locked in. Well, that we did. We met with her once a week up until our wedding and she customized choreography for us, pushed us out of our comfort zone just enough to WOW the crowd, but made sure the moves were things we were physically capable of doing. Every week we showed up to our lesson happy to share that we'd been practicing. I want to shout from the rooftop that this studio is incredible and I LOVED our custom wedding dance!!! Do it. Do it. We found Ariel's mommy and me dance class and immediately knew it was something I wanted to try…read morewith my 18 month old- when I called to sign up I was able to also receive a free trial class to see if it was a fit for us. We have been attending dance class for a year now and it's been amazing to see the growth in my daughter's personality, I largely thank dance for her following directions, trying new things, somersaults, and learning to clean up! It took some time in the beginning maybe a month or two for her to want to jump in so don't give up right away especially if your babe is younger. There's class during the summer still and lot's of fun themed classes, dress up days and songs. I love supporting this dance studio in particular because Miss Ariel is an big advocate in giving back to the community. We had our first recital and we also got to perform the dance at a local nursing home for the folks there. She offers all types of dance classes including adaptive and since we all performed at the recital we got to meet all of these awesome special needs adults (who are excellent actors, singers and dancers!) and who are so often forgot about in extracurricular activities.
