There's an incredible amount of young adults that go to their church which was awesome to see. The reason I give only 3 stars is because of the children's ministry. They were super friendly when I was dropping my 2nd grader off for the first time, but when I picked him up, I was bummed to see him sitting alone and no teachers around him. I was a bit late to get him, because I was talking, but I have served at many churches and no matter how late the parents are, the volunteers do not leave the children. He wasn't the last kid picked up and completely alone, but in the 2nd grade "area" it was just him with no adults. Also when we were walking out, the person I gave my tag too kind of ignored us and when I said thanks and goodbye, she just continued to talk to her friends that were nearby. So in a way I felt like people were kind and friendly, but not as welcoming as I hoped for a first time person. Wanting to try the church again and hopefully it will feel different next time.

The thing that I appreciate the most is that the pastors talk about real life issues to help us as we go through life. The music played here makes you feel like you are in a concert worshiping God if you like the more traditional music they also have that at the 9 o'clock service in another area . They have Bible studies for couples, women, men, celebrate, recovery, financial, peace, university, and reengaged, along with many others.

My faith has grown exponentially since then and I love the community I've built here. The teachings are Biblical and the worship songs have sound theology, but this church is far from traditional (although there is a traditional service offered at 9am on Sundays). The services will keep you awake and wanting to learn more. Another thing I love about this church are the pastors. Chad Moore is an excellent communicator who truly loves and cares about his church, but more importantly, the people that make up the church. He makes up excellent "catch phrases" that will stick in your head and serve as a reminder of the character of God and His Church. Robert Watson will be your favorite if you're a visual learner. He teaches once or twice a series and is great at using physical illustrations to help you remember the main point of his message. Kyle Glenn is the pastor of the Tempe campus and is always eagerly waiting to greet people on Sunday mornings - whether you're new or have been going there for a few years. Kyle is easily one of the most loving and humble I've met and can put a smile on anyone's face. He's compassionate and always puts the needs of the Church over his own. If you are new to church, or have been hurt by a church, this place is definitely the place for you. It isn't small enough to make you feel like you're constantly under surveillance, but it's not too big to the point where you feel lost or lonely. Once you get plugged into a small group or ministry team, you get the sense of a close-knit community that loves each other and loves Jesus.

Different from the typical sit-down sermons one is used to. It's a large church with an amazing auditorium & stage. They make you feel very welcomed & like a VIP here. The only drawback for me is it's a drive from Apache Junction to Chandler but then again, my friend & her family drive from Maricopa to Chandler in order to attend so it may be worth it. They also have a fun church for kids to attend as well & an on-site school with a student center. It's a gorgeous campus. It gets so packed that they have people doing traffic control duty! Also, there is an inside baptist dunk pool & an outside baptist dunk pool. My friend was baptized in the outside one.

We love the worship, we love the teachings and all of the various small groups. IF you don't get involved, IF you just sit and watch everyone else, you will stunt your Christian walk. We just celebrated 21 years of being in Arizona, our home AND Cornerstone. We become as active in all of the volunteer activities as we can. We don't love Cornerstone because it is a "Mega" church; we love Cornerstone because it is many churches within a "Mega" church for all ages. Grateful that we listened to God. Let me just take a break from that round that cracked overhead and step away from my Marines who just recently received and returned fire to say simply this: As a kid who had a dad who, as a "Pastor", regularly slapped down his wife (my Mom) and got away with it (and still to this day is somehow still in ministry), I have a word to say. You may hide behind your carefully selected and well crafted verses. You may stand before your congregation and stand over your family with your hand raised. You may never get the legal repercussions of your heinous, evil actions. But I will promise you one thing. One day. One day your sons will grow up. They will learn war. They will go off to foreign lands and destroy men who act the same way that you do. They will marry wives that you will never know and have your grandchildren that you will never meet. And, on that day, you will never raise your hand to their Mom again. So, yes, excuse domestic violence from the pulpit. But make sure you count the costs in this life - for you will pay far greater in the next.

Through beginning…read moreworship songs, I was tearful with gratitude to be there with my grandson who I was rarely allowed to see. Once the sermon began, I found myself picking my jaw up off the floor. The misogynistic tone combined with prejudice and hate was shocking. In my 54 years, I've never attended a church that preached hate. It was wild. After church, we went to have lunch. My daughter mentioned that their old church always talked about how God loves you. "This church says no, do better!" I should mention that my grandson died two months ago under questionable circumstances and his step father, who has obtained an attorney is closely affiliated with this church.
