Today I showed up for the first time and the main pastor was on his "farewell tour". Are you kidding me?! Another church in the area where the pastor "visits" the main church but broadcasts to the other campuses. And the people sit in front of a screen and watch. What is this???!! Like these pastors are rock stars? This is disgusting, and not biblical at all. I will never return. It feels really slimy and like a big money grab. Certainly better than most, but gutless when it comes to real issues and how biblical principles factor in ...classic example : the election ....both Cal and Shon chose to sit this one out.... not take a stand ...sit on the fence... the constitution was written by biblical men.... We decided to go back to Central Christian since Cal retired and see what it was all about. What an absolute disappointment. It seems they've gone utilitarian. Barely mentioned or wove in the Bible and it's teachings. Social issues seem to be the priority. The Mesa campus was virtually empty, which was never the norm. Unless your agenda is progressivism, avoid them. read more

I had been attending almost a year, first at the Mesa campus and then the Gilbert campus when I moved. I enjoyed the singing worship as well as Cal, the primary pastor, and also Shon who just took over after Cal retired. However, I went one week recently and found a woman preaching on Sunday morning (Rachel Dotzler, who I found out was one of the pastors in the church network in the Valley). She taught another Sunday not too long after, so I wrote an inquiring and respectful letter to Shon and Central leadership asking about how they reason through having a woman in a teaching role over the whole church and how that aligns with their view of the Bible. I never received a response. I wrote again, in case my note didn't somehow get through. No response. I checked on Central's website for their leadership team and found that I didn't have permission to access that part, even though I had an account and was giving regularly online as a member each month. Central's "radio silence" MO as well as their choosing to not allow even members of their own church see who is in their leadership team online is not being honest or authentic. It's an oft-used strategy of lack of response in hopes that the points of disagreement will "go away". Sorry, that is not God-honoring. read more

I love the mantra of this church, "Love Beyond". The church should be a place where followers of Jesus emulate Him as best they can by loving our neighbors, and Central does a great job of that! Central Christian Church is Awesome! This is my family home church. The people are clearly Christ followers. I can see this through the actions and words. The worship is so Holy Spirit filled. All the teachings are Bible based. The Senior pastor is great teacher as well as his son. If your looking for help or encouragement this church has a very diversified group of people to be there for you. The church has several campuses in the valley and they stream in teachings to the worship services. Each campus has a pastor and staff. Kids and student groups are intensely fun and welcoming. Central Christian is a church where they strive to make you feel comfortable. The pastor is sincere, inspiring, and humble. The music is uplifting. The messages are meaningful. But what I really appreciate about this church is that they reach out to meet the needs of the community. I started attending this church two years ago when my friend invited me. I went to a Catholic church for 24 years and it was all that I really ever knew. I still love attending Catholic mass however I tend to get a lot more out of Central's sermons than anything else. I love that I can relate to everything, how welcoming everyone is, I actually get pretty bummed if I miss a Sunday and make sure I watch online. Pastor Cal is very well spoken and funny! The bands for worship are always changing and such a blessing to start my morning. What really stood out to me was I went in to purchase "The Story" from the bookstore and realized as I went to purchase I forgot my debit card and they just gave it to me?! I went back next week and bought another copy for a friend. I am so happy to be apart of this church! read more

I'm sure the pastor that delivered the eulogy for my dearly departed friend meant well when he spoke, but I can't get over the fact that he didn't bother getting to know the family at all before the services. He decided to turn it into a regular old church service and my late friend was an Atheist so it didn't come off as very respectful to me or my other friends that attended. A good pastor would, assuming he didn't have the luxury of getting to know the deceased when they were still alive, take the time to interview close friends and family so when funeral time comes around, he/she would have at least SOMETHING comforting to offer those of us that need closure. Like I said, I'm sure this pastor meant well, but he did it so half-assed. As a Christian myself, I truly thank God that we had a chance to get what we needed at my departed friend's mother's house after the services. She had an after party at her house where we got to talk, eat, and watch films made by our friends about our dearly departed friend who went way too soon at 29 years old. At least there's that. read more

People could not be nicer free coffee that is good. Great parking good singing good sermons. If you are looking for a feel good church forget about it. Jesus said to carry the cross and this place makes sure you know the whole truth and nothing but the truth no whitewashing lukewarm sermons. The people were friendly and video feed sermon excellent. Reason for lower rating is the disco atmosphere. Bass was booming; couldn't hear any voices praising our Lord except the ones with microphones. Then bright lights started moving and shone directly into audience blinding me several times. Had to leave before the show ended due to headache. Wish they had a toned down service, but was told they no longer do so. This is a great place for the young people who want to be entertained. read more

This is the best church I've ever been to. I've been to several non denominational churches after realizing being anything but non denominational was a waste of time. Although they've all been far better than Catholic/Lutheran mass the pastors here really excel at explaining the details of who where and what the bible is talking about. This is an amazing church! I felt like it was home on my first visit. While its a big church, people are warm and friendly, and make it easy to plug in. One thing I love is that you don't have to put on your "I'm perfect and have no problems" church face. Its a place to be real, and the sermons are on real topics that we all face, even the pastor and staff. They teach straight from the Bible in a real and applicable way. Pastor Cal is the most genuine and inspiring preacher! This is truly a great Christian church, and the one that I call home. Make sure that you get involved with a Life Group and, if you have a problem that you need help with, at the end of each service are wonderful prayer partners at the front of the church to pray with you. read more

I've been attending Central for 6 years now, Glendale campus, I cannot say how grateful I am to find a church that REEEALLY gets "it"! We are AAALL broken....grace....forgivness, compassion taught here...There's more to life than me! Absolutely!!! I am forever changed. Pastors are WONDERFULLY creative, funny, inspiring!!! Lessons are cleverly taught in series segments....So you really don't want to miss a single Sunday!!! Music will move you....I especially love the occasional old hymns put to new sounds. I am plugged in to a life group, and very involved with children's ministry. My second home!!!! My extended family!!! CCC is very involved throughout the community and try to spread the love while still keeping it laid back and not overbearing. It is a positive atmosphere and the pastor is someone I personally look up to. You can become as involved as you want but they never expect you to do something you are uncomfortable with. Amazing bible based church! We have been attending Mesa campus past 4years. They have great children's program, life groups, sports, many many many serving opportunities (homeless ministry, cafe, sports, bookstore, children's programs, etc), support groups... completely geared toward serving communities. This church has welcoming environment and the senior pastor, Cal, is engaging and inspiring. The campus pastor, Perry, is also great!They also have bookstore and cafe serving variety of pastries, coffee, and hot food ... all ran by volunteers. Our kids love kids weekend and week day programs. We also took advantages of financial classes and got our will/trust done at no cost. read more
