I will readily admit I'm not a regular churchgoer and I'm not the best Christian you'll meet - haven't been to church in many years. The only church I've ever felt comfortable with and truly had anything near an incredibly impactful experience with is my sister's longtime "church of choice" (sorry guys, I'm not a theologian!), Cornerstone. Pastor Linn's sermons have always been impactful and I have gotten so much from them each time I'm in Phoenix visiting and attend church with my baby sister. It's a fun dynamic experience I never knew existing as a lapsed (sorta - went maybe a dozen times growing up) Catholic. And I cannot begin to describe the impact of Cornerstone on my sister - truly has been a life changing experience for her in the most positive sense. As far as the experience, I'm not sure what more anyone could want? Great music, incredibly well executed audio-visual, and pristine, very impressive brand new facilities (great coffee shop and gift shop in Libby - mind boggling when I first saw this place, it was fun to attend a church?!). Pastor Linn was approachable with thousands of attendees; the man remembers who I am whenever I say hello. I live in New York City, but I get to Arizona 6-8+ times annually. He asks about details so well I'm always surprised, special guy. Obviously, highly recommended....indeed I can't recommend Cornerstone enough. My family of 4 moved here in 2004, found our new house and found our new church which was going to be a struggle since we loved the one so very much that we were part of in Sacramento. We came in "comparing" churches and not really listening to God, at first. We loved Cornerstone. Since then we have now become a family of 5. We love the worship, we love the teachings and all of the various small groups. IF you don't get involved, IF you just sit and watch everyone else, you will stunt your Christian walk. We just celebrated 21 years of being in Arizona, our home AND Cornerstone. We become as active in all of the volunteer activities as we can. We don't love Cornerstone because it is a "Mega" church; we love Cornerstone because it is many churches within a "Mega" church for all ages. Grateful that we listened to God. A Church That Fails to Show Grace and True Leadership Our family came to this church seeking a loving, Christ-centered community, but instead, we were met with poor leadership, a lack of accountability, and a failure to show the grace that Jesus teaches. Our child was repeatedly bullied by others in the congregation. Unfortunately, after being pushed to his limit, our child made a mistake--he showed a pocket knife (without opening it) in an act of frustration and self-defense. Then put it away and ran away. While we understand that this was wrong and took appropriate action as parents, the church chose to ignore the bullying entirely and instead banned our entire family. Instead of guiding a young person toward repentance, reconciliation, and growth, they chose exile. Instead of addressing the root issue--the bullying that led to this moment--they removed the victim and washed their hands of the situation. This is not biblical justice. This is not the love of Christ. We are deeply disappointed in how this was handled and saddened that a place meant to uplift and heal instead chose judgment and exclusion. If you are looking for a church that truly reflects Christ's love, accountability, and redemption, this is not the place. read more

I go to this church and don't plan to stop, but I heard the lead singer make a Trump comment. "Trump can't save you but Jesus can". While I agree that Jesus can save us, I feel like she was trying to sneak in her own political beliefs. Whether she's against Trump or not, whether I'm wrong or right, she did say this and it could be a turn off to new comers. On the surface this church would be very appealing for young people and young families who want a fun interesting modern environment. However, after attending giving and serving as a volunteer in children's ministry(for 5 years) , I've found the leadership to be overly prideful and use borderline unethical tactics to keep the church afloat. Elder Board and pastors are so far removed from reality that they do not listen to the concerns of their own staff or volunteers. If you're going to church to be entertained, this is your church , but if you want to become a mature Christian and dig deeper into the Word of God and help others along the way, you will not find any fulfillment of those goals at Cornerstone Church Chandler. read more

We've been church shopping since we moved here. We finally decided on cornerstone. It's fun and energetic and has a great kids ministry. Little did I know it was this is a political support church and right winged political church. I feel extremely unwelcome here as someone who is not right of center. I didn't realize until my husband went to a mens Bible study and they prayed for Kerri Lake to win and stated they thought trump could save us. Politics has no place in the church. We come together as believers of Jesus to worship and learn together not to be told who to vote for. I was so upset at the hand outs my husband received from the Bible study he attended. I informed pastor Landon of the comments made at the Bible study some of which I don't even feel comfortable repeating, and he could care less. Just confirmation that this is not the church for us. Included are pictures of the handouts given during a mens Bible study where right wing propaganda was promoted. Again, I informed a pastor and he did nothing about it. I attended this church on Sunday, 31Jul, in hopes of finding a Christ centered, Christian home. It didn't happen. The exceedingly frustrating inability to find a parking space started the downward trend. In these times, the End Times, aka the end of the Church Age, any church that has such a following, a Mega-Church following, is more than likely bending to the World. The Rock Concert atmosphere, punctuated by the stage smoke, was the 2d red flag. And in the spirit of the Rock Concert ethos, I was saddened to witness many young girls dressed like they were at a rock concert or headed to a club....either one. When the announcements were given and the speaker referred to giving and tithing to "OUR" church: red flag #3. Giving shouldn't happen to support OUR church....it should happen to support GOD's church. When the pastor opened the service with a prayer to the Holy Spirit, I was done. A cursory internet search clarifies that nowhere in the Bible does anyone pray to the Holy Spirit. We are to pray to The Father in the name of Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. These few instances may seem trivial but my recent landscaping nightmare demonstrated how a small deviation from a true heading can lead to a progressive, glaring, completely off-course error. The End of the Church Age as illuminated in Revelation 3:14 speaks a message to the church in Laodicea. The prognosis for this church is not good. I'm diligently seeking a Philadelphian church as referred to in Revelation 3:7. My prayers are that the pastors in this church will also. I wrote the lead pastor, or I should say the lead pastor's assistant, about my concerns. Almost two weeks later, I have had no response. Visited today with a friend. First of all, they are employing every tactic they can to get you to stay/come back next week, whether it be a "relatable video" where the pastors took a quiz to see what type of "Disney dad" they were, or a game where four men competed on stage for a $50 gift card, or literally handing out candy at the door to people. This church seems like it's constantly apologizing for being a church and needs to compensate by offering goodies and entertainment to people instead of being a place where people can listen to the word of God being preached. My friend and I are the ages of people they are trying to attract (26 and 24) and we found all of this pandering extremely inauthentic and tacky. The worship team is musically talented but the words to the songs are vague, shallow, and biblical only in the most indirect sense. The message was contradictory and confusing. The pastor said both that you needed to believe in order to be saved (true) and also that believing is a "work" (not true) and we are saved not by works but through faith. They kind of tried to preach the gospel, except there was no mention of repentance from sin which is step one of the gospel!!! Leaving that out does the ultimate disservice to the people you are preaching to. I would not recommend this church ever to anyone. If you aren't a Christian yet, you will have a confusing, watered down gospel message preached to you. If you are a Christian, there is no solid, biblical teaching to help you grow in your faith. I agree with one of the other reviews that said this is one of lukewarm churches that Jesus talks about in Revelation. Stay away and find a church that, instead of pandering to you, challenges you to repent of your sin, believe the entire gospel, and come follow Christ. read more

I've attended this church in the past and it is one of the better churches in the Valley. They sincerely care about people and not about bashing your for what you do wrong. The music is uplifting and the preaching is a living room, comfortable style of talking to you and not an uppity old man talking down to you. The college church was great for my kids. The outside ministries are awesome to help the community (as many churches think that their mission is to help somewhere in Thailand or Uganda and forget about those in their own streets). This church is great. I attended in the past, but had to stop because I moved too far away. I moved closer now, so I'll be revisiting. I'm concerned with some of the other comments. We have some that tell us that "this church brought me closer to the Lord," while other bash is for personal dislikes: "no social distancing!" (I doubt you couldn't find a seat away from others), "blinded by the light" (well, the Methodists won't blind you), "doesn't pass out bibles" (but then goes on to say everyone there had one on their phones - sounds like you prefer Presbyterian), "Christmas they have Santa Claus" (I'm wondering if you have a pagan Christmas tree in December), and one of my favorites: "The pastor said both that you needed to believe in order to be saved (true) and also that believing is a 'work' (not true)" ...really? John 6:29 Jesus tells us that "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." Jesus thinks belief is a work, and a God given work at that. Perhaps listening to the pastor instead of trying to be the pastor might suit your spiritual learning a bit better. It's sad. Did you come here to complain because the church greeter missed shaking your hand? Move on. You're looking for the wrong thing. Oh, and if the Sunday service built for new people trying to figure out life in Christ is just not deep enough for you, the bible scholar that you are, then perhaps you missed The Mine on Tuesday nights. Yeah, you didn't look, did you? Just jumped on Yelp to complain. Very Christ-like. Again, I have not been to this church for a number of years. Linn is still the pastor, so I know people are in good hands. Come with an open heart. And if it is too loud/light/electric for you....that's ok, try somewhere quieter. Learning to be Christ-like is the goal; associating with those who want to be Christ-like is the desire. If (when) I go back, maybe I'll see you there. There are so many things I really like about corner stone. I do attend there regularly, and love the music, but don't always connect to the message. Sometimes it's great and others it's not. Pastor Brent was my favorite, so I was very sad when he left. I love the outreach of the programs. This church has. This church is amazing. All my life i was told to avoid a church like this because all they preach is how loving God is but not judging and to only preach what people want to hear. Transitioning to cornerstone the past 4 months has really been a huge impact on me and my fiancé. It's helped her parents relationship grow better they aren't fighting any more. I ACTUALLY look forward to going to church it isn't boring any more. I actually remember all of the sermons they stick to me and my lady. We read the bible more and our faith together has gotten stronger together. This church has changed my life. We love it here. Coming from the pastors kid where i wasn't allowed to go to a place like this it actually is quit opposite. I remember the lessons being taught by pastor Lin, the worship is so touching and they do have a come as you are mentally coming in their services. I RSVP'd for the Christmas Eve service at 3 pm on the Chandler campus. I had a very hard time focusing on Pastor Linn's message because there was NO SOCIAL DISTANCING!!! Multiple people around me were not wearing masks and the rows were not blocked off to provide 6 feet between people. I was so angry because I then had to let my family know that I would not be spending Christmas with them, but would instead be alone because of this issue. Also, while the music is uplifting, it is so loud that I can't understand the words. There are so many instruments being played and such a wild light show, that it feels like I'm at a concert instead of trying to praise and worship God. Whatever happened to singing praise based on Bible verses such as passages from Psalms? I've been attending Cornerstone for 2 years now and especially online since the pandemic began. I am so disappointed... I won't attend in person again. read more

I didn't care for the music. I was blinded by the light show they put on. I felt like i was at a rave. The guitar player kept spinning in a circle on one foot like he was performing at a concert. SOOO awful. The pastor gave a very fluffy, dry sermon. He didn't give much details to anything he was talking about.. And please stop with the bright lights!!!! And while he's "preachings" turn off the light show!!! It was like being in Vegas. Update, I gave this church another try the next week and realized it's not the church for me.. he puts very basic information out without having to dig deep into the Bible. I've also noticed that this church doesn't pass out bibles.. seems like most people used their phones when looking at the rare scripture he talked about. read more

It's strange to go into a house of worship and feel instantly judged by parishioners. After almost getting hit by a car in the parking lot, and then given a dirty look for using a crosswalk. I found out that one of my children was called "racist" and "stupid" during a snack time. The kids were served pineapples that were labeled product of Mexico so the kids in the group called them "Mexican" when my child said the same things as the other kids she was called racist. My child was new to the group and only k ew one person that they stuck with for the night and was called "stupid" for staying with their friend because of nerves. I'm sorry but this is NOT the way I was taught to treat other people in church camp when I was a child. Needless to say she doesn't want to return to the church for fear of getting bullied. To say I'm upset is the understatement of the year. I've been looking for a church and definitely don't think this one is a good fit for our family. read more

As a former LDS member, the whole mega-church concept is totally foreign and weird to me. And to be honest, we were only there to hear Paul Jr. speak and to see his new custom bikes. I'm not a religious person but if I was I would definitely consider Cornerstone. I was really impressed with how warm and friendly and inviting everyone was. Very laid back, come as you are attitude and atmosphere and I LOVED that! And the music was great! Drums and guitars oh my! Not used to that after all my life of dull boring organ. They also have a cafe where I got myself an iced coconut mocha, which was delicious! The kids center is amazing and very secure. They also had booths featuring different types of programs they offer. There is something for everyone! Anyway, I was very impressed with this new church experience (and I'm pretty anti-church). read more

I have been looking for a church to join since moving back to Arizona. Being born & raised Catholic, I understand the traditional mass & hold high my values, but was looking for something a little less traditional with more of a community aspect- Cornerstone was recommended and did not disappoint! It was a little overwhelming, at first. A very large campus with SO many people and a lot going on! But everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I had no problem finding the information desk & several members were very helpful in setting me up with information then guiding me in the right direction. I really enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere of the worship service. I also find it really convenient they offer several worship services at different times of the morning and even one in the evening- really great for those of us who are not morning people or the late afternoon worship if you are not able to make it to the morning times. It was appealing that they choose a specific topic and run on covering that in depth- really makes me want to keep coming back as to not miss anything, and I found it also appealing the gentleman presenting would relate the topic to our everyday lives. It seems like they have a variety of classes & workshops to explore, too. There really is something for everyone, and I felt very much at "home" being welcome and encouraged to participate in what they have to offer. I am glad I checked this place out, and can confidently say I look forward to returning next weekend! It is very different than a traditional Catholic mass, but I felt like I fit right in and have been inspired to rediscover my spiritual journey through Cornerstone and a new found fellowship of others who also share a love for God and their strength in faith. read more

I greatly appreciate this church and all the support groups, classes, retreats and child care they have to offer, not to mention the amazing festivals they offer: Halloween, etc. But the Sunday services are a hard pill to swallow. The lesson I've found to be inspirational and good. But the music is TOO LOUD, it's got TOO many lights, cameras and it all seems TOO much of a "show". WHY WHY WHY....WHY would you have Sean from the Bachleor come to the church as a "HONORED" guest to speak as if he is to be respected as an example in this world?! WHY are we lowering our standards so much?! Okay, so he chose not to 'sleep' with the girls while dating them all. But did he not flirt, play with the eye candy, have impurity in his heart while lusting with his eyes and play tonsil hockey with them???? Come on, CCF, really?! AND to boot you can actually win a ticket to actually meet him as if he's a celebrity or Jesus?!!! So disappointing. Cornerstone is what one may call a "Mega Church" and it is mega-sized for sure. But the interesting thing I have found is that the size of the church actually enables it to be whatever you want it to be. Sure, you could come to Sunday services every week for a year and never see the same person twice, but if you are looking for a deeper community, there is literally something for everyone. Be it a class, small church, support group, or other gathering, you can find whatever is right for you for your place in life. Or if it's the anonymity of a large church you're looking for, that's definitely possible... with smiling faces all around and a really great energy. Cornerstone offers a coffee shop/cafe area, bookstore, a ton of volunteer opportunities, men's ministries, women's ministries, retreats, mission trips, top-tier worship leaders, sermons that dig in to the bible and provide real-life context, and thoughtful kids programs. You can feel confident dropping your children off while you're at the service, because they will be cared for by background-checked, well-trained individuals ready to teach your kid the week's bible lesson! Babies mere weeks old are welcome, and the older kids have fun activities every week. Does YOUR church have a Starbucks? Mine does! M and I have been going to this church off and on for the past 8 years. It is now moved into the huge new sanctuary and offers 5, yes, 5 different services. For those who like to rise and shine, 8, 9:15, 10:35, 11:55, and 5 pm. There are SO many programs, classes, Bible studies, you can get as involved with the church as you want. Or as UNinvolved as M and I do. We like that we can go to church, enjoy the service and go home. Yes, it is a BIG church, but there is something for everyone. We love the live band, interesting ministers who preach according to a theme that lasts for several weeks, and the nice people. There are information booths outdoors and inside, a children's area, a bookstore, and a small cafe that serves Starbucks. If you are looking for more of a rock concert than a snoozefest, try Cornerstone. read more

After disappearing from the whole church movement, a friend of mine suggested that I attend Cornerstone. Of course, I was hesitant at first, because I dont like ppl pushing their beliefs and thoughts onto me. I am who I am, no questions asked and if I like something, then I will try it. First its huge, the people, everyone, are all so friendly there, yes there's a little coffee center, similar to Starbux, the service is great, it talks abt everyday life...and all the studies, ministries, etc they have... cant ask for more. read more

My husband recently started going to this church and what a church it is. It's not like when I was kid and couldn't understand what they were talking about and I see nobody snoring in their seats, how can you. My 9 year old asked why we didn't go last week and that would have been his 2nd time, our 3rd.. What does that tell you? He loved it... Marty was wonderful when my dog passed away and counseled me over the phone as well as met me when we attended Easter services and put me in touch with a free grief book. We R.S.V.P.'ed for 6 people for the 4:30 Christmas Eve service. NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! We witnessed the staff setting out countless numbers of cookie trays where people touched cookies with their bare hands and several coffee self-serve canisters that hundreds of people touched. We saw no hand sanitizer. Very few people were wearing masks. Inside, the rows were not roped off, NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! We thought this is why we were asked to make a reservation. People sat side-by-side strangers, a lot of whom removed their masks. VERY DISAPPOINTING. We turned around and left. read more

Their parking lots are always full (but fear not, there are parking attendants), people are always about, and there is a whole information tent on the patio to help you out when you first arrive. The auditorium is spacious! Everything about this church is open, spacious, welcoming, & graceful. (Even the bathrooms!)
