Based on my full experience, I have updated my previous review. On 6/9/2026, I received a phone call from Arizona Dermatology Specialists and spoke with a medical assistant by the Name of Shannon, who informed me that my biopsy results were positive for melanoma. During the call, I was told there was no need for immediate follow-up because the biopsy margins were clear and that I should simply keep my annual follow-up appointment scheduled at a year. Because I have experience working in pathology, I requested a copy of my records and sought a second opinion. After reviewing the pathology report, I learned that the results did not indicate a positive melanoma diagnosis, as I had been told over the phone by Shannon. Naturally, receiving news that you have cancer is extremely serious and emotionally impactful. Learning afterward that the information provided to me was inaccurate was both upsetting and concerning. I contacted the office manager to discuss what had occurred, but at the time, no explanation could be provided beyond a commitment to follow up internally. My concern is not only the incorrect information I received, but also the process by which such significant results were communicated. Patients rely on medical providers to accurately explain test results, especially when those results involve the possibility of cancer. As a result of this experience, I have decided to cancel my follow-up appointment and seek future care elsewhere. I hope the office reviews its procedures to help prevent similar situations from happening to other patients. read more

The nurse Practitioner that I saw told me I had a couple of pre cancer spots on my nose, she froze those spots and told me she would write a script for a creme or something to put on it, plus I have itchy scalp and she also told me she would give me some shampoo for my scalp. She said she would write a script for Hydroxyzine, which comes in pill form. My appointment was on Thursday afternoon, I had to call on Monday as there had been nothing sent to the Pharmacy and then only for the script for the Hydroxyzine. It looks like I will have to call them again. read more

Due to some recently excessive sun exposure, a mole / skin tag on my front chest increased substantially in size. It had begun rubbing on my t-shirt and backpack strap causing further irritation. I left a voicemail last weekend for the dermatologist I had seen last year. No response from their office. I looked at the website for my health insurance carrier and found a couple of other dermatologists in my network... one of the names I found was AZ Dermatology Specialists. I went to their website last Sunday afternoon and filled out the appt. request form on their website explaining the reason for my request. They called me first thing Monday morning to let me know there was a cancelation on Tuesday! SOLD!! I'll take it! The woman who called me was very pleasant and obtained all my information over the phone and via the website request form I submitted. And just like that I had a confirmed appt. I'll mention I filled out appt. requests on three other Dermatology websites in the Valley... AZ Dermatology Specialists was the only one that called me. I showed up for my appt. this afternoon. Filled out the new patient paperwork. The MA brought me back to the room just moments after I turned in my paperwork to the front desk. I explained the reason for my visit. Christina was so pleasant and efficient! After Christina finished numbing the area, Dr. Reese came in and removed the mole. From the time I walked in to the time I got out of the chair, it was a matter of just a few minutes. Incredibly and thoroughly impressed with my visit today to AZ Dermatology Specialists!! They scheduled me the day after they called me. Christina was awesome! Dr. Reese was great! The front desk staff was friendly and efficient. Sounds like a 5-star experience to me. Once the front desk is rude, and continues to ignore you, then helps the next person that walks through the door, and lies about not noticing you were waiting ...well it's downhill from there! No amount of doctor or PA niceties can repair that office visit. Rudeness all around! read more

I referred my son to Dr. Reese. He had an AWFULl experience. His visit was 3 minutes and he had to remind the doctor on several occasions of different areas he wanted taken care of at the cost of $309.00 for 3 minutes. He will consider trying Dr. O and I will too as it is my LAST visit with Dr. Reese. read more

One year annual exam with Lisa V. I was here 8 months ago and the lady that answered the phone was very rude when I tried to make appointment for my son. Well the other day my mom made a appointment for my dad off of a Referral from their doctor. The lady was rude and they were told when they get referral they can be seen. She kept repeating herself. I am a retired, board-certified physician. Twice in recent years, I have had a worrisome skin lesion show up suddenly. Each time Arizona Dermatology scheduled my quickly - the next day! Flu season requires a safe environment to wait for your doctor's services. ADS has a miniscule waiting room where they stack up too many patients at one time. I have been a patient here for half a year and I am extremely disappointed with their practice. Their medical assistant submitted the wrong lab report to my primary care. I had met with the dermatologist who said I didn't need said lab. When I called for reimbursement, she tried to cover up her mistake by telling me I needed that lab, but with addition to another lab. I told her that was not what the dermatologist said, to which she apologized for lying. I am most upset with the fact she was comfortable lying to me- it was an honest mistake but I was concerned with what other information might of been incorrect. They also mislead me when I realized their mistake and wanted to cancel my upcoming appointment. They lied again saying they can have my primary care add on the lab with the sample they already drew. I show up to my appointment and this was false, I had to go get another set of labs completed (on top of another charge for the "check up" what's a check up without my lab). The medical assistant also does not know the different between a topical and face wash, often using the two interchangeably. As for someone who does not like needles, they neglected to tell me I had the option for a urine lab instead of blood work until they realized I was upset about going in (for the third time that month) for the correct labs. Please tread lightly when considering this clinic and double check everything. read more
