I come to this thrift shop when I eat at Hibachi Grill Asian Buffet on Sat or Sun, the only days they have snow crab. I can all this seafood, crab legs, huge shrimp cooked 5 different ways, and oysters on half shell, etc., for $18 senior price on Sat and Sun. I spend 3 hours cracking the crab legs. Well this review is not about Hibachi, but I visit this thrift shop about 3 times a month, for the Hibachi Grill Buffet reason, that I only go to for the snow crab. I have found a decent Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled vacuum here for $9.99 I think I paid. It had a discount on it but I forgot what it was, and the discounts seem to change. I collect Hoover Windtunnel Self-Propelled vaccums when I see them at thrift shops, because Hoover does not make them anymore, and you can't get the parts so I have quite a few on back up. Almost 1 for each room and one for the garage. I also found, on the same day, a very powerful (but only 1 speed) Black and Decker leaf blower. Price was marked $20 but I think I paid $10 for it. I saw two Victrola record player, CD and tape cassette player, and FM, all-in-one cabinet, but they were priced very high $20 and $35 (that one had the Aux jacks in the back). But both record players didn't turn on, which is why you buy this thing, and one the CD in out drawer button did not work, so you can't play CDs either. I told the clerk. She said the store DOES NOT TEST ELECTRICAL ITEMS when they price them, it is up to customer to test them. That is different from any other thrift store I been to, so I am rating this AZ Humane Society one 2.5 stars. Store is also not organized as well as other thrift shops, just piles and heaps. An example of an neat and orderly thrift shop is Salvation Army Thrift shop on Scottsdale Road around Oak St. If you have a dog, this shop has a lotta dog stuff, food dishes, kennels, harnesses and clothing. The furniture quality seems to show that the staff that prices them and puts the furniture on the floor to sell, is less selective and discriminating than other thrift shops.....meaning stains, nicks, and broken places, very used-looking. Example of thrift shop that has nice furniture is White Dove Hospice thrift shop on McDonald and 86th Street in Scottsdale. That store is nicely organized and clean and bright (lighting). Also this store has a disadvantage in that when I call the phone number that Yelp has posted, it does not go to the thrift store, it goes to the Humane Society, all about adoptions, etc., and I have to get a live voice to transfer me to the thrift store, where no one answers. So 2 stars for this store. read more

If you have the time. It's a good size shop and a bit messy in a good way. Not everything is on display and you're going to have to dig for that treasure. It's all set up like a typical thrift store just disorganized. Pricing is just about average if not a little lower on some items. There seemed to be a lot of people traffic the time I was there so take the now usual health precautions. So this being a humane society based thrift it allows animals and sells a lot of animal stuff...sweet. They did have employees or volunteers moving around working in areas cleaning, straightening and stocking from the back but I'm sure they would stop to answer your questions. Came here to find some Knick-knacks and wound up getting a few. It's not quite as large or has as much selection as say a Goodwill, but there is still some decent stuff here and the prices are much less than at a Goodwill. We paid $2 for a corkboard that would have probably been about $5 at Goodwill. I think the people working here are volunteers, but they do a good job keeping the store look decent. If you want to donate, they have rolling bins inside the door. We get down this way pretty often, so we'll probably be back to check out the selection. read more

All the proceeds from your donations go to the Arizona Humane Society!! Help the animals! They will pickup large donations. I donated a heavy dining room table and chairs and then men who came to pick up were so wonderful. I would gladly donate everything to this cause. read more

The people that work there very nice and they have incredibly fair prices. And what a great cause.

They pick up and are very polite, reliable. They require at least 5 boxes of donation for pick up. Great charity for the animals

I visit frequently when I'm in that strip mall to go to Dollar Tree or Big Lots. I just like to browse thrift stores, and love getting a good find. During Covid, they closed off the fitting rooms, however, they never reopened them. It would be nice, even necessary, to try on clothing before purchasing. Another reviewer wrote that the restrooms are not open. In their defense, I suppose there are some nefarious characters that occasionally hang out at strip malls in the area, so they may have had problems in the past. I suppose people that are up to no good could go into the fitting rooms and add clothing to their person or in a purse and walk out without paying. And, who knows what they might do in a restroom! read more

I have two stars because I love animals and the $ they make goes towards helping animals. I visited the store this past Sunday, and found some pretty cool pieces! I was very excited, but, right now due to Covid, the employees do not assist moving furniture into customer vehicles. I didn't have assistance, plus my vehicle was full, so I didn't purchase the floor length mirror that I wanted. I called Monday morning 1 minute after opening, and confirmed the mirror was still there! Yaaaay!! I asked if they could hold it until 4pm, and I would pick it up as soon as I got off work. They agreed! Whooop whoop!!!! So excited! 3:50pm- I walk in the door, tell the nice person working at the front that I'm here to pay for the mirror. She says great, and takes my payment. We walk to the mirror and see my hold information stick to the mirror, along with a note staying "Sorry Ames, this mirror was already on hold." - along with a receipt of purchase. ??? WHAT??? So the clerk says no problem, it was on hold for you anyway. Ok great. We walk back to the register and I'm about to go get my car to load the mirror. As we're chatting, some guy walks in, grabs my mirror, and starts walking out! I tell the clerk- umm, this guy is taking my mirror, and I stop him and tell him- I'm sorry, I bought that mirror. He says- SO DID I!!!!! Whoa sir, calm down, no need to yell. He gets super aggressive with the young female clerk, so I tell him, hey, it's ok. She's just doing her job. There seems to be a problem, I put this on hold this morning at opening, and you bought it later. To which he said he bought it on Sunday, and it's his! Too much! The clerk asks for the receipt and he tells her- I'm not giving you anything! You're on her (my) side!! Super aggressively. So I tell the clerk to call the supervisor. Supervisor "Eric" comes up to the front, asks the guy what's going on- ignores me- let's aggressive guy take the mirror- THAT I PUT ON HOLD AND PAID FOR!!!! Turns to me and says sorry. He paid for it yesterday. As he said this the clerk looks at the paperwork and says- No, he paid for it today! At this point- my mirror that I paid for is gone, and Eric the supervisor- cowed down to the aggressive, hostile customer. I ask for the manager of the store along with my money back, and tell him that I understand mistakes, but to be totally ignored due to the fact that Eric didn't want to, in his words- put himself in danger- wasn't acceptable. This makes me want to remove stars just remembering all of this!! But I love the animals. I was accused of being aggressive and told I don't need to ask or know the management's names! Never have I ever been treated so poorly!!! Never have I EVER been accused of being aggressive! I left the store, incredulous at the- unfortunate biased treatment. Although I love the animals, I'll spend my hard earned money with a business that operated fairly. Enter at your own risk. read more

I really want to support this store. I donate ALL my stuff to them BUT...I am tired of the bathroom being closed. My mom loves thrifting and we usually go after having lunch which means... one of us will need to use a restroom. I hate that their bathroom is always closed! I have had a full basket of stuff and had to leave to drive to another location to use the bathroom. Open your restrooms to shoppers or I will take my business elsewhere! read more

I love dropping by this store every week as I go to the nearby health club. I've found many things for little money which were of high quality. I, recently, found a brand-new, never before used, X-Acto pencil sharpener for $2. Yesterday I got a pair of Turtle Beach Millenium headphones with adapter plug and microphone that worked nicely with my tablet and home computer for $7.50 (was a bit beat-up; but worked nicely). Also bought a brand-new-looking TP-Link Extender so my WiFi can now be picked-up in another room better and a nearly-unused Netgear router that replaced my older router and works perfectly. read more

I like to thrift and I have never been to this store. Had fun with the finds but I went to check out and the clerk said the prices must of been switched. Which she quickly backed out "Not saying it was you." Not cool have been implied as a lier. Also a bummer to have item prices subjectively valued and changed as you check out. I think I'll skip this shop on my next outing and go to the Goodwill or White Dove. read more

Just left there. Been here a couple times since it's down the street and I love thrifting plus I have 4 dogs. Just left there with two brand new in package Kong wobblers, a nerf chew in package, a bee squeaker toy in package, a used ball treat despenser, 6 cans of dog food that don't expire until July, and two bags of treats for 19.60! Previously I've bought puzzles for my dogs for dirt cheap and a pair of Aeropostale pants for 4.50!! They have great prices and the money goes to a good cause. Love coming here :) read more

I absolutely love this store and enjoy digging for treasure always! The employees are always kinda and quick at the register. For those complaining about their mask policy, they've been very strict with masks since the beginning and does it not make sense to in a store and area where people are at higher risk? This is not the cleanest thrift store but I have found some great things here. My two best finds were a mid century modern high boy dresser and a mid century recliner in great condition. Sometimes thrifting means going to places less than great to get cool stuff. They are usually always understaffed and I understand why. At the end of the day I'll put up with the grumpy tired people and the less than perfect conditions to find great things and help animals. read more

This place is not the cleanest & prices are not cheap but they do have frequent sales & you can find lots of stuff here. I usually take my donations to this place because Goodwill is a for profit organization & this place helps save lives of cats & dogs; a no kill philosophy. I have brought in lots of name brand clothing, shoes & other high end items to benefit our animal's welfare. read more

This store is GROSS. It's dirty, like they do no cleaning of any sort. They only sell trash, they sell everything worth anything online so all that is sold to the public is Walmart ripped trash. I spend 40+ hours a week in thrift stores in this is one of the worst I have seen. I've given it 2 chances because it goes to a good cause but yeah, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more

We took a small SUV full of stuff to donate the other day. No one would help get it out of our vehicle and no one even said "thank you" when we wheeled the stuff into the store. I like to go to this store on Sundays, which is their sale day. I've gotten some amazing bargains shopping sale day. Regardless, their prices are good anyway, compared to some of the other big name so-called thrift stores. The only reason I can't give them 5 stars is the cleanliness. I'm not talking about the store, I'm talking about the clothing. I reached my hand into a pair of Victoria's Secret pajamas and.....well, I couldn't wash my hands enough to finally feel clean. Thought this Thirfty store is friendly and understand but no ! We purchased a sofa. It does not fit going through our door at home so we had to return it and asked for an exchange to something else worth of 10.00. The boss .manager not agreed. We lost 10.00. Now it's been taken advantage of our 10.00. Crap store people who work there don't understand. if Thirfty store wants keep their business open is to understand others.
