    Whoa, 99 cent pants!
    Louisa M.

While visiting Phoenix I turned to Yelp to find something new and cool to do and once again, my fellow Yelpers steered me in the right direction! I decided to check out the Mesa Thrift Store based on the great reviews here and I didn't leave disappointed! Simply put, this is a great thrift store. It's very small but the goodies inside are top-notch. Maybe I'm used to the not-so-great thrift stores here in Las Vegas (the aisles at Goodwill are crammed with free casino t-shirts and other junk), but this place has oodles of treasures if you are willing to look. The racks aren't overly crammed full, making it easy to browse and the shelves were fairly well organized. The store was clean (as far as thrift shops go) and the employees were friendly. Lots and lots of Spanish speaking shoppers. The parking lot out front is very small and was crowded when I went; you might have to circle to get a spot. I didn't find a lot of great vintage finds here (the clothing is mostly newer styles and discount brands like you'd find at Kohls or the Gap), but there were some decent vinyl records and books. The electronics had seen better days so buyer beware. A few of the vintage bicycles out front caught my eye too. If you are a hipster, there were tons of ironic t-shirts for 99 cents each. (AS IF an actual hipster would ever admit to being one, *insert sarcastic eye roll here*). Most of the items were in very good to excellent condition and the prices were reasonable and fair. I left with a vintage real Denver Broncos NFL jersey ($4.99), two brand new full size Yankee Candles ($6.99 each), and a new looking Robert Graham polo shirt ($9.99). Definitely worth checking out if you are in the Phoenix area or if you love bargain hunting.

    Ouch

Prices don't seem to be "thrifty" especially considering the items were donated. $19.99 for a Tommy Bahama shirt??

Does this store have dressing rooms? I'm looking for thrift shops that allow you to try clothes on. Thank you in advance!

No dressing rooms here. Wear a tank top and leggings to try on things in the mirror. I saw others doing this.

It's easy to browse, nothing feels chaotic, and you can actually enjoy the hunt without getting overwhelmed. They also keep up with the basics--clean, spacious dressing rooms and restrooms, which always makes a difference when you're planning to try things on and take your time. Now, I'm rating this location in comparison to another DESERET Industry store I gave five stars, and the only reason this one lands at four is the air quality. There's a noticeable mustiness--more of that classic thrift store smell--and oddly enough, I found myself sneezing while inside, which wasn't happening before I walked in. I will say, the toys and home goods sections do lose a bit of that polished feel. Like the other location, those areas lean more toward slightly disorganized--nothing wild, but enough to break the otherwise clean, curated flow of the store. Aside from that? Solid spot. Great organization overall, easy shopping experience, and definitely still worth the thrift trip.

There is no "up and down." This place is a labyrinth designed by someone who said, "What if we hid Narnia behind every dresser?" I got lost at least three times. Possibly four. At one point I genuinely forgot: What I came for, which direction I entered... who I am as a person. Every time I thought I found the "main path," I'd turn a corner and BAM! secret pocket room. Hidden alcove. Side quest unlocked. Now, to be fair, if you are someone who enjoys treasure hunting, rummaging, discovering trinkets you didn't know you needed, and time traveling, this is your Disneyland. There is stuff. So much stuff. Trinkets. Bobbles. Whatnots, galore. Things your grandma had. Things your grandma refused to have. I went in looking for one very specific item. I did not find it. I did, however, find three existential moments and mild spatial disorientation. Did I have a good time? Yes. Did I leave with what I needed? No. Did I briefly consider dropping breadcrumbs to find my way out? Also yes. Three stars because it's impressive, chaotic, and an adventure... but if you go in with a mission, be prepared to lose it. Possibly along with your sense of direction. Would return. With a map.

Having personally experienced the care hospice provides, shopping here felt deeper than just finding great deals--it felt like giving back. The store offers everything you'd expect from a thrift shop--housewares, artwork, furniture, clothing, jewelry, and even essentials like diapers and Depends. But what sets it apart is their boutique section, featuring higher-end items at fantastic prices. On top of that, they run additional discounts based on colored tags--I literally had to take a picture to keep track of all the deals! The organization here is impressive. Clothing is neatly arranged by size, and even the shoes are sorted the same way, which makes browsing so much easier. The displays are classy, giving the shop an elevated, boutique-like feel rather than a typical thrift store vibe. The staff was incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. They have one restroom, which was clean, and three fitting rooms. The fitting rooms are a bit on the tight side, so it may be challenging for wheelchair access, but they are functional. Overall, this shop has such good energy--great finds, thoughtful organization, and a meaningful mission. It's one of those places where you leave feeling good about what you bought and where your money is going.

The store is very well organized, and all of the staff will greet you with a smile and offer to help you find whatever you are looking for. Deals are clearly marked on multiple white boards within the store. So many affordable items so little time. You'll find yourself starting with a couple of items, then a handful, then you'll ask where the shopping carts are (they are up front). Happens every time. I was just in yesterday with a few minutes to browse before they closed. Walked out with 21 DVDs and three Star Wars novels. I first found out about White Dove from my late grandma. She recommended the one in Phoenix near where she lived. Been going to many of the Valley stores since. This one just happens to be within walking distance of our house in the East Valley. We have seen this store thrive in a spot which used to rotate different businesses in and out every few years. Nice to have some stability in our neighborhood plaza - and one which raises money for Hospice of the Valley. We have not only seen them do well, but years ago they even expanded. The store has a very nice addition to the West side of their store with larger items, paintings, and collectibles for sale. Highly recommend White Dove for your thrifting adventures.
