Knowing that much of the paperwork is boilerplate, and our situation being fairly uncomplicated, I felt that $4,000+ was too much. Nicole handled the affair partially while being away from work for several weeks, and when we finally were able to sit down and sign documents, the process was well prepared, smooth, and pain free. Initially, the return contact was slow. The person designated to my endeavour was a Nicole Panzella. Wasn't interested in working and updating an existing living trust. Said that it could not be done, which it can as I have done in the past. Wanted to start afresh with a new living trust at around $1,000. She/American Legal Services wanted to make it more complicated than it was and equally charge far more than it should have been, period. Short review: You get what you pay for. Very cheap and very incompetent, you must hold their hand and proof read everything for the many errors that I found. Long review: I needed to have a quit claim deed filed. They were late on calling me for the set appointment time. Two parties were out of state. Another company in the past made it much easier. This company claimed all the signatures had to be on the same form. Again more of a pain in the butt. Ok but before all of that they, Nicole Panzella, had to create the document. Thats where all of the problems began. I'm not kidding when I say that I had to send back what she tried to say was the final version four different times for revisions. The main point of the quit claim deed was to transfer ownership to me. The first version sent to me did not even list me as taking ownership! Other issues included the wrong spelling of names, wrong names under the wrong signature lines, wrong name and address at top for where recorded document should be mailed to, black specks on paperwork that was scanned....on and on and on. Wow it was bad and stressful. I was not kept apprised to when the document would be recorded and they never emailed me to tell me that they had received all the documents. I had to keep asking and then she said she would check if they received them or not. They do not seem like the sharpest knife in the drawer if you know what I mean. Then I never received a final email stating the document was recorder on this date, instead out of no where, I received the original recorded document in the mail. I strongly recommend trying another business and paying the $35-$50 more they might charge. read more

Probate can be a scary thing, being an archaic process based on outdated legal principles that no one wants to have to go through and for which few are prepared. But it happens whether you're ready for it or not when you lose a loved one without an estate trust in place. When my father died I made several assumptions based on what I thought I knew. Several of them were close enough (keeping detailed accounting of estate transactions, notification of affected parties), while others were woefully misguided. Feeling overwhelmed I asked several friends who had been through the process what their experience was. Each described variations of common themes: unexpected expenses, conflict with siblings and other heirs, and no shortage of hard feelings. Many also described paying attorneys thousands of dollars that they regretted spending later. Knowing I had a limited window to open probate, and feeling sooner is better, I bought myself a Nolo book on being Executor of an estate. A big sticking point for me was reading that whether I hired an attorney or not I'd still be filling out the bulk of the requisite forms, so unless there were the complexities of a family owned business (there weren't) or estate of significance (there wasn't) I'd be better off filing on my own. I did some searching and found Arizona Legal Documents and, by extension, Nicole Panzella. From our first well-structured meeting Nicole was ultra-competent and self-assured. She talked me through the entire process, what I would need to get her and when I'd have to have it, and how we would be dealing with the court each step of the way. Having read through the court self-filing packet I was able to track her closely, and was pleasantly surprised when she explained each of my options and how they could expedite my process for the best results. Nicole took the scary out of this process, and guided me from one step to the next with a skilled and comforting hand. She prepped her material in advance and sent me copies of everything so I could execute documents from my home state, while she did the legwork with the court. With Nicole's help I was able to get my father's will properly admitted, and all supporting documents through the court in a timely and efficient manner. She was great about following up but not pushy or annoying, showing great consideration and empathy for my timetable. She was patient, diligent, and a total professional. With her assistance I was able to fulfill my duties in a timely manner, for a fraction of the price an attorney would have charged, and I've worked with enough attorneys to say I feel better about the attention to detail I got with Nicole and her firm. I'm really surprised that this office doesn't have a Yelp footprint yet. I started with them in the spring on a case I knew would last several months. I actually had two different cases in two different states being managed at the same time. The one here in AZ was being managed by AZ Legal Docs, and the other was handled by a document preparation service in the state those docs were being filed in. Both cases were supposed to wrap up at about the same time, but my out of state one is still going on, while my AZ one was completed months ago, and it's entirely based on the skill-level and professionalism of the offices I chose to prepare the docs. Arizona Legal Document Services was totally on the ball from day one. They oversaw absolutely everything. They monitored progress in the courts, made sure all documents were filed in the proper sequence, and followed up with me to make sure I was taking the steps I needed to, and that I was prepared for court. They put me in touch with outside entities that I needed to get involved, and really handled the case professionally. Meanwhile, my out of state case was dismissed, because I missed a filing date I knew nothing about. Clearly, all document preparation services are not created equally. I have had the misfortune over the years of having poor attorneys, lousy legal advice and the worst luck representing myself in family court in the 14 years since my divorce. With a total of 8 children but only 3 remaining minor children at the time, my ex decided to leave Arizona without following the protocol. I knew this was something I should deal with and quick, once I found out. The complexities of the documents I needed to file to address the issue at hand was one that, despite my decent writing skills, needed to be handled by someone who has doing this for a LONG time. I reached out on Yelp for these services and from the initial dialogue, I had a feeling I was making the right choice. Kellie and her staff helped me through a petition to bring my youngest son back to Arizona with Temporary Orders, an evidentiary hearing, trial and a final trial last week and my 14 year old will get to come back and stay with dad...just like he wanted to from the very start. I am not an attorney and honestly, if you can afford a good one, that may be a sound bet however if you can't afford an attorney but you want to make sure you are complying with everything the court asks for in writing within the timelines and requirements put upon you during the process, Kellie exercises almost seamless skill with her staff to take care of you from start to finish. A finishing touch on the work she does is that she cares and is genuinely interested in your success and the results of her work.
