He was just going to take us in for free! There was no guided tour. He just gave us a brief background on the family that used to live in it, and he told us to look around ourselves. He was available for questions if we wanted. He was very knowledgeable. He seemed eager to go home... We arrived a few minutes before 2:30, thinking that 2:30 was the last guided tour, and he said they were about to close. At 2:51 or something like that, he locked up right behind us, even though there were still a few minutes for someone else to walk in and look around quickly if they wanted to. I always have a pet peeve of employees locking up or cleaning up early, because sometimes I'm that person who comes in hoping I can look around for 5 minutes! Overall, the house was definitely a nice thing to see for free. Fun to see the old artifacts, but it would have been nice to have that guided tour we were expecting. Even my 5-year-old enjoyed walking around looking at the old things!

I was greeted promptly and asked to take a seat as everyone was busy helping others. I was waiting a maximum of 5 minutes before they called me up. Between the time I walked through their door to walking out of them, maybe 15 minutes had lapsed and much of that time was due to just chit chatting while they worked. The cost for the notary service was extremely reasonable. I found out they do a bunch of services, including trusts. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend them.

Somtimes the Ipad work to check in, other times they just have a clip board to write your name, why you are there and a phone number. It's not as sophisticated as larger DMVS but it will get the job done. I went over here to get a replacement title, they cannot expedite it unfortunately. It takes 15-30 days to receive. This place is quite small and very family like location. I was in out faster than the 9 minutes that was predicted on the website.

Scenic (and dangerously scary) drive in Oatman AZ…read more Route 66 crosses the top of the Black Mountains via Sitgreaves Pass (elevation 3,523 feet). This was a fun and scary drive part of Historic Route 66! When hubby was driving on this mountain pass on our way to Oatman, I had to cover my eyes sometimes but then I would get dizzy so I kept my eyes open LoL! It took us about 45 minutes to reach the town of Oatman driving through an entirely paved road with very few guardrails. I would not attempt driving this road after dark. We have the major Southern Pacific rail yard, a major West Coast rail center as part of Roseville's railroad heritage,... Kingman was founded in 1882 as a small railroad town during the construction of the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad and in 1883 Kingman was established as a railroad stop. Locomotive Park is not very big, you can see the "Welcome to Kingman" archway from the park. There is ample parking spaces for visitors. This is home to famed Steam Engine #3759. Visitors can climb aboard the train but use caution. It was retired in 1953, having traveled over 2,585,600 miles. The marker at the park was an interesting read. When #3759 was retired and given to the town of Kingman Santa Fe section crews laid a temporary rail line across Route 66 to the park. As soon as the engine was across the street, the track was torn up. It was the shortest-lived railroad line that the Santa Fe had ever built, lasting for about 45 minutes. It was then it had its official dedication "old 3759." In 1987 caboose 999520 was retired and donated to Kingman to be added to the #3759 display. In its operational life, it was used in mainline transcontinental pool caboose services. Visitors can also climb aboard the front and the back end of the caboose. A community project called "The Great Locomotive Pull" was organized and drew a crowd of 4,000 where some 1,200 of them took rope in hand to move the nearly half-million pound iron creature 30 feet forward to its new resting spot. Wow! instead of just bringing in a heavy equipment and move the locomotive they got the whole town involved. Amazing! It took "10 seconds." Near the west end of Locomotive Parks is the Beale Monument on which is inscribed the story of Lt. Edward Beale. The Visitors Center is just right across the street at the old Powerhouse. This weird building has had many tenants over the years -- including a real estate business that actually turned out to be a complete scam, selling houses that never actually existed! Today, you'll find a strange museum that houses what the owners say is evidence of alien encounters in the area. We had our dog, Doug, with us and were allowed to bring him in with us as long as we carried him. So I definitely got my workout in that day! The museum is tiny and costs $10 per adult. Did I understand everything in the museum? Did it make sense? Umm, definitely not! But we think it was well worth the stop for the weird experience alone. Before you leave, make sure you stop at the little store at the base of the museum to pick up some beef jerky.

There was one additional shop on site that was closed but has beautiful sculptures near it. I recommend you to stop by, stretch your legs, and get creeped out by the alien stories. My friend and I planned to hike from I-95 to Steamboat Cove about 4.5 miles south of Lake Havasu…read moreCity, AZ and ended up in a detrimental situation that called for some dangerous trekking in the hot desert! At the Cove, just to enter the water you have to carefully trudge around a landslide beaten trail that leads over some yet established potential jumping cliffs. We were slightly low on water and were able to get an additional bottle from a passing boater. They did not tell us they called the rescue team and if we had known, we would have stopped them! Not realizing that a team was coming to shore to find us we packed up and headed back. We hiked, solo climbed and trudged these lands to peak over a total of 8 Rocky/"trailess" mountains and were greeted by a chopper and nearly 20 rescue personnel at the trail head. They all seemed amazed that we made it out safely! Though we did not end up needing them, we are grateful for more than just ourselves. THE MOST AMAZING PART: A man that had been missing for over 48 hours, (while searches end if you aren't found in 48 hours) without water, was saved because they did not realize that we were going over the mountains and went on searching around them! They hiked the entire forest just to find us! The Mohave County Search and Rescue is an ALL VOLUNTEER team that will not give up on any single life! This says a lot about feeling safe when visiting this area.
