This was a fun and scary drive part of Historic Route 66! When hubby was driving on this mountain pass on our way to Oatman, I had to cover my eyes sometimes but then I would get dizzy so I kept my eyes open LoL! It took us about 45 minutes to reach the town of Oatman driving through an entirely paved road with very few guardrails. I would not attempt driving this road after dark. Sitgreaves Pass is listed in the website of dangerousroads.org. I snapped a screenshot of the description and the ride experience. Walking on a piece of history almost feels illegal to do. But located at the heart of Havasu is the…read moreoriginal London Bridge, which was destroyed in London and rebuilt in Lake Havasu piece by piece. It feels surreal to be able to see and walk over this national landmark. The entire bridge is beautiful from end to end, and the surrounding lake and just the location make it a great tourist spot and a great visual representation of the city. I checked out a local brewery next door and some nightlife for tourists around the corner. This is a great tourist hang out spot. You won't really find locals hanging out here, though; they'd rather steer clear of tourists, so if you want to meet locals, this is not the place, but you will meet plenty of other tourists in this area. Right next to it is the London Bridge Beach, which is also a great place to check out.

The path even leads you to Laughlin Riverwalk. For meditation, contemplation, or just plain leisurely walking, it is really nice. It was terrific after a heavy lunch! There is access to restrooms, shade shelters, incredible natural wildlife and fauna are an incredible template for relaxing as well as getting your cardio moving. Right on the Colorado river gives you an incredible view of not only the glistening ripples of flow, but an incredible experience of changing colors of water and the nearby dam. Contemporary meets ancient. A truly soothing environment.

The marker is right in the side of the road so it's easy to spot. Super peaceful and kind of amazing that someone had the patience and artistry to create something like this. I enjoyed walking through the big spiral, there are a couple of them. I think others have made their own little ones nearby and the rock balancings. All the recent rain made for some pretty flowers scattered around. Good for a nice morning walk outside the smoky casino life across the way.

It was an easy 1.22 round trip walk from the trailhead (once I figured out I didn't have to walk…read moredead center in the loose sand and moved to the perimeter of the trail). Per the information at the trailhead, we did not touch the petroglyphs and were careful not to climb any rocks/boulders even when the trail was only single foot width. It's a dog friendly outing. The weather was just right for it, too. Laughlin is beautiful and breathtaking here.

The mountains around you are beautiful. The sacred land and the history of the tribes that lived in the Spirit Mountain is something to read about. Don't forget your water for the hike. I just got a place out here and even after visiting Bullhead City, Laughlin, and the Colorado River for 30 years, I learned SO much at the museum. It is free (suggested, zero-pressure $3 donation) and they have a little gift shop with cool BHC and Colorado River items, all very fairly priced. See the old school house too! Totally a must-visit place in Bullhead City. Just take note of the hours so you don't miss the window of opportunity!

You WILL see a donkey while you are here, it is a for sure. While you are here, enjoy the touristy stores full of donkey inspired items. Do buy the donkey food and feed the donkeys. Please do not bring carrots to feed them. Although the donkeys LOVE them, there are many that have diabetes because of their high sugar intake from the over-indulging on carrots. Visit the museums in town and learn about its mining history. See the hotel and enjoy that small museum as well. Be transported back to the old west through the stories and views. If you are here at the right time, you may even see a reenactment of a gun fight, right on the main street outside the saloon. Use the many photo ops to create memories and be sure to take Route 66 out of town for a whole other adventure! This town is perfect for young and old alike. Be sure to leave yourself a few hours to wonder around. You will be so glad you made the trek!

We spent a day in Oatman, Az. It was a spectacle. Let's start with the drive in...something called…read more"Sidewinder Road". If you are driving a larger RV, come in from the other direction...this road is so much fun, cutbacks, hairpin turns oh...and beware of a stray donkey or two. Take advantage of some of the amazing overlooks down into the valley. When you get to town, watch where you step, donkeys have taken over this ghost town and they do not care where they leave their "stuff". Make sure to buy some "donkey food" they will eat right out of your hand...and if you are in your car they will stick their head in n to see what you have for them. We brought our 6 year old granddaughter and she spent the entire time giggling at the donkeys. Outside of the donkeys, there are mine tours and plenty of shops to get whatever trinkets your heart may desire.

Mood- My Weird Travels…read more I have traveled to Phoenix and all over Arizona many many times. If Im not sneaking off to a beach in Cali, I am definitely roadtripping thru Arizona. During all of my haunts I have seen this road side attraction but never stopped. Maybe cause I was going well over 85, however today was the day to pull over and get up close and personal. Four figures sit atop rocket which is created out of an old telephone pole, complete with tail fins and a nose. There are 3 Snoopys in the back while Woodstock is riding the very front. This neat attraction was created by a couple of people from Michigan in the 90s who bought the property at that time. The property is private and there is a sign that states no trespassing. So def be careful as your trying to get up close and personal for those photos. In addition people have complained about the ground. It does get really muddy and your vehicle can get stuck if your not careful. Would def recommend as it is something worth seeing at least once in your life - especially if your into roadside attractions. Location is Hwy 93/ Wikieup - ample parking off the side of the road
