A friend was coming to grab the tote and discovered Nathan (the manager at this location) had gone into my unit and thrown away my stuff. I called him and explained my discontent. He was super apologetic and admitted to throwing it away, and I asked to be compensated for the thrown away items. He explained to me he could not authorize and reimburse me for the thrown away contents but would follow up with corporate. He never called me back and followed up with me, and I lost $300 worth of stuff. I asked him why he went into my unit, and his explanation was that he thought it was left by accident. I get accidents happen. However, agreeing to push my request on his end with corporate and then not following up is extremely substandard, and the result was me being out $300. So if you use U-haul Pods you should ask these questions 1. What is the rental? 2. Do you charge to move the pods from one location to another. 3. Do you pro-rate your monthly fee? I will say that the pods seem to be watertight, and my items inside did not move at all during shipping.
