I used Arizona Taxi for the first time to/from the airport for my sister's wedding in Cabo and a dependable service was paramount. Interestingly enough the positive reviews led to Arizona Taxi as my new number one choice after independently researching various taxi cab, ride share and black car services. After speaking with Danny, the dispatch manager, I immediately knew this was the right selection...these people have the transportation business down to a science. Throughout the process I received prompt email/text communications during booking, with driver info, pickup/drop off location & time and flight status. Their vehicles are spotless & the drivers are personable & professional. Even at my 4 am pickup time, I received a text in advance of arrival and my driver, Lee, greeted me with a welcoming smile. To give you an indication as to what a tight knit group this is....Lee volunteered to take another driver's shift that morning because it was his daughter's birthday...what a great team. On my return trip, Jerry, who is wonderful, was my driver. He also happened to be the driver for my sister and brother-in-law which included transport of the all-important wedding dress and a quick re-route back to their home, after the initial departure, to pick up a forgotten item and still provided on-time arrival at the airport. Jerry's patience & helpfulness was outstanding. Arizona Taxi will be my 'go-to' for future service along with my highest recommendation to others...they are fantastic. Do not bother to call this service if you need a ride to Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ. We had a 10:25am flight and I booked a taxi 24 hours in advance for 7:45 (because you just can't predict lines). Thank goodness I did: at 7:55 am, I called to see when the taxi would arrive and was told in "in 10 minutes". I expressed displeasure but since I had built in extra time, I said fine with the delay. At 8:05am, I called again and was told "we have no drivers in your area. It will be 20-45 minutes". !!!!! Worst of all, her tone was so "Yeah, so? whaddya gonna do? sue us?". Whatever you do, do NOT book a ride with this cab company. I booked a ride for my whole family to get to the airport and the quote was reasonable ($40, which is only a little more expensive than the cabs I usually take home from the airport.). So the scheduled time comes and goes, no cab in sight. I call 10 minutes later and they said, "oh yeah, no one's picked that ride yet...but we'll let you know if someone does." I'm really starting to sweat bullets then and start calling random neighbors (who, lucky for us, were home and ended up giving us a ride.). If we had relied on the cab company, we would not have made it to the airport in time for our flight! And they hadn't even bothered to tell me that it was an isssue--I had to call them to find out. Wow, guy answering calls over phone was about as apathetic as possible for his job and borderline rude (very dismissive and sarcastic at best). Was considering taking them but had a sudden change of heart.. Only reason I don't rate this experience a 1 star is because the rate I was quoted was actually very reasonable. But just can't bring myself to help support even a fraction of this guy's paycheck. We'll see how uber goes for me. Update in response to comment: Look-- Firstly, I gave a fair assessment of your company (based on my own personal experience, as limited as it may have been) and I clearly stated a positive aspect of the experience. So I wasn't just ranting and giving a wildly vicious report of my experience. Your rating on yelp is the sole reason why I called you first. Secondly, providing prompt, friendly service is really not that difficult even when you have rushes, its quite easy to be polite and leaves a positive impression almost always. I will assume that you were the guy I talked to over the phone for the remainder of this. I work somewhere that deals with drunk, rude, oftentimes outright mean people but I don't treat customers (or potentials) before or after those people differently based on the isolated experiences I encounter with those that cause me frustration and occasional anger. So I completely understand the feeling of having to deal with jerks, but its not cool to act like a-hole to someone who IS acting respectfully toward you because other callers may not be. What's annoying to me and really merits a reply to your message is that you are defending and making excuses for the rudeness rather than just apologize for the instance and strive to provide a friendly service that would/could turn someone like myself from a non-customer into a customer. While its nice to have a well established clientele, it would probably be nicer to have a model that considers gaining future customers as well. You basically saying its ok for yourself or your employees to treat non-customers rudely because they haven't done business with you in the past is faulty logic. I doubt you really care to sit here and read what some non-customer thinks so I won't take up anymore time, but I thought I would at least give you my 2 cents, as its the only thing I would give your company at this point. read more

Rudest service ever. Originally I called Tempe Taxi and he said it would like 2 hours to get a taxi to me. I said I'll check around for a faster ride. So he hung up on me. So I called Sun Devil Taxi and the same guy answers. I said it seems like it all goes to the same dispatcher (I wasn't sure but it sure sounds like him) and asked if there was a taxi in the area. He hung up on me without saying a thing. This is one of the rudest dispatchers ever. I recognize his voice. He was the manager and picked me up a few times for a taxi ride. The guy is so uptight and rude. He said some girls had called and said, "Hiiii" in a happy way and he said he treated them like sh*t because they said Hi in a happy and fun way. Wow!! People here are rude and uptight and mean as can be. I couldn't believe I had to listen to his drama when he picked me up before. I had a flight to get to a few days ago and I thought that Sun Devil Taxi would be able to get me to the airport quickly with no hassle. I assumed that because they called themselves Sun Devil Taxi, they would be able to get me from campus to the airport in a snap. I placed my reservation 2 hours before my flight and got an email notification that my reservation was confirmed. The time for the taxi arrival came and no taxi could be seen. After 10 minutes, I decided to call the number on the email confirmation and the man that answered sounded as though he had just been woken up with a, "Ugh... yeah?" greeting. At first, I was sure that I had dialed the wrong number to be greeted in such a fashion but sure enough, it was the correct customer service number. Once I was able to get confirmation from him that this was the correct number for cab reservations, I explained my situation, that I had made a reservation and the cab had not shown up and the man checked my confirmation, was able to see that I had indeed placed it and it was confirmed, but was not able to see who was assigned to pick me up. He said he was going to look into it and let me know who was supposed to pick me up and why they were late but before I could even thank him for that, he hung up on me. With that, and being 20 minutes behind schedule, I decided to hail a street cab and solved the matter myself. He never did call me back. read more

Seriously I thought I would die if it wasn't for Sun Devil Taxi, it was the most reliable taxi service when google popped out and all others being majorly ridiculous with rates from the airport I thought I was going to die plus, Uber having long wait times. Being extremely confused about a service to help me. I thought I would take a chance on them and thank god I did. I asked for a reservation online and driver was there to help me with my luggage and was extremely friendly to me and upon me asking for things to do locally and places to eat other than fast food he was a real help. Recently found this amazing taxi (more like car service) company! I love the convenience of booking the car service online. Both drivers have been very friendly and professional!! I love that I can book online in a snap! So easy! Plus the cars they send are always clean and fancy! I have several more trips already booked in the next few weeks to the airport as I travel a lot for work. Plus they do airport pick up so I don have to go for a ride around easy valley with one of the other taxi companies -- no thank you after a long day of travel! When tasked to schedule a taxi for one of our members to come to a health fair, round trip ride , I chose you because i support locally owned businesses. Everything was running smoothly, had the ride booked until it came to for payment. I wanted to have my corporate AMEX on file to pay for our members ride as her transportation is part of the service we are providing that day. I requested an email confirmation that the ride was booked , and from that moment on the Eric Haley who was on the phone with me, went straight to unprofessional and ugly, with a condescending comment that told me that my one cab ride that I was trying to book was not worth the time, and minimal keystrokes of an email confirmation and for me to call somewhere else for our member. I never wrote a review on Yelp before and yet I had to write one for this company - that's how rude the person on the phone was with me. I made a reservation online for a cab ride two days and got a confirmation email. I called this morning to confirm the reservation since this is an important international flight and I want to make sure the reservation is confirmed and the taxi will be here on time. The guy who answered the phone is the most rude person I ever talked to in customer service. He answers the phone in a very agitated voice and cuts me short saying "Yes it's confirmed". I say OK I just want to make sure it is and he cuts me again yelling "That's what I said!" ?? I swear I was shocked to hear that! I say OK OK and then he hangs up on me!!!! Funny thing is on their website they say: " Our Pledge To You. At Sun Devil Taxi we will always: 1.) answer the phone with a smile " Yeah right. This happened on Saturday 12/20/2014 around 9:40 AM and whoever was in charge of answering the phone at that time should be fired. I will never use this company again. Update: boy this gets better. The owner of the company himself reads my review and calls me and he is 10 times ruder than the dispatcher. Now I know where the dispatcher got his customer service skills from. Going to preface this with the fact that my phone broke on short notice, giving me no access to the über app. In a pinch, I googled "cheapest taxi service in tempe az" and Sun Devil Taxi popped up. The GOOD: -Requesting a car online was super fast and easy and I got an email right away. -The driver was not late -The seats were super comfy -Candy. (nuff said, right?) The BAD: -My driver showed up 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled time (I requested maybe 2-3 hours in advanced) -My driver also got out of his car and approached my apartment in a very aggressive manner (I was home alone. I do not know this guy and he was griping incoherently and headed towards my apartment as I'm standing outside it with my dog. A little panicked, I told him that there was no need to approach my home and that I was ready to go. Put my dog in the house and went with him.) -I mentioned to my driver that I'd never heard of this company before and he asked who I normally use, so I mention über and he just goes off. Completely bashing über telling me I will die or get raped (um..?) if I continue to use their service. He also mentions how it's stupid that they use GPS and that HE knew this area like the back of his hand and didn't need GPS. -My driver then almost missed a turn (lol) and when I told him about said turn, he blamed it on my faulty address (even though I'd given the same address to several über drivers and they had no issues whatsoever, lol.) -The price of this ride was 15 bucks when for my uber it's normally 6. Bottom line, replacing phone ASAP and never using this cab company again. read more

I will never use this cab service again and would not recommend it. This is primarily because the guy who answers the phone was extremely impolite, rude, from the start. I went ahead and booked a cab and the driver was okay, although I know the area well enough to know he took the long way around to run up the fare. Then tonight when I wanted to return, the same unfriendly, loud mouth answered the phone and I told him I needed a cab and he asked where I was. I told him and he said, "There is a two hour wait tonight and hung up, while I was telling him that would be okay, as I wasn't quite ready. Supposedly open 24 hours, but good luck if you need to talk to a live person. At 10:20 pm I used the website to book a cab the evening before to travel to the airport for a 6 a.m. flight. The website sends me an automated, "be sure to answer your phone 20 minutes before your scheduled pick-up. No problem, except... they don't call. I am sitting outside my house with three suitcases waiting, waiting. So I call them. Rings, then an automated message. "All of our phones are busy." They weren't busy at all -- there was simply no one answering the phones. At all. The time for the cab to arrive comes and goes and I call another cab company, get a human being, explain that I have to be at the airport for 6 a.m. flight, cab shows up ten minutes later, no problem. The bottom line: Sun Devil cab later sent me an apology, saying that their website was "maliciously hacked" between 10 pm and 6:30 a.m. Yeah, right - but if they'd had a dispatcher or somebody answering the phones, they would not have lost my business. read more

I was traveling to Phoenix for business and decided to give these guys a try in that they offered Luxury Sedans so decided to give the Black a try and enjoyed every second. The vehicle was in pristine condition and the driver Eric was friendly but quiet. I like when drivers just leave me alone in all honesty and get me to where I need to go when I need to get their. Sometimes cab drivers are way to talkative when I'm focused on meetings with clients and thankfully Eric was pleasant. Good job guys, I enjoyed the ride. Recently, I had to visit Tempe and needed a clean, comfortable ride to and from Sky Harbor airport. I've been in taxis in other cities where the vehicle was dirty (Salt Lake City, for one) and the music on the radio wasn't even from our hemisphere! Plus, being seven feet tall, leg room was more the issue than the rate. Still, the black executive car that picked me up and dropped me off provided lots of extra leg room and comfort. Yelp's reviews help me pick this company. When I first called the dispatcher's attitude left a lot to be desired. But the service the day of our departure was excellent. Eric, the manager picked us up on time, rather he was early but not uncomfortably so. This was the best taxi experience I've had in years. Just work on the telephone customer service. That helps when choosing a company like this for the first time. I was thinking about cancelling and finding another based upon the phone experience but I'm glad I was too tired in doing so.
