$171 for dogs ear infection. Highly overpriced mediocre service. Also wanted me to pay for a follow up which was not included in the $171.

Recently, because he has stopped eating and has been struggling, I asked for a refill of the same two medications THEY previously prescribed him to help with nausea and appetite. I recently lost my job and simply do not have extra money for inflated office visit fees. I went there in person, hoping someone might show even a little compassion for the situation. Instead, there was none. No empathy, no concern, no attempt to help problem-solve -- just "it's been almost a year since we've seen him, so he needs another office visit." To be clear: it has NOT even been a year. Not years. Not multiple missed appointments. Less than a year. I explained that he had just had emergency labs done at urgent care a couple weeks ago, that those labs had been requested to be sent to them, and that they were very similar to the labs THEY themselves previously took when diagnosing him. I explained that he is very sick, stressed easily, and forcing him into a car and putting him through another unnecessary exam could honestly do more harm than good at this stage. I explained that I had just spent all the money I had on his emergency care and was simply asking for a one-time refill of medications they already knew he needed. The woman I spoke with initially acted sympathetic and said she would ask if the doctor might make a one-time exception given the circumstances. Then they called me back. First, they mispronounced my name. Then they said, "Oh, they can't prescribe something they've never prescribed before." I had to explain that yes, they absolutely HAD prescribed it before -- that's why I was requesting a REFILL. Then suddenly it became, "Oh yes, I see that now... well, since it's been almost a year, they're not going to do that." That was it. No compassion. No alternatives. No "maybe try this." No "we're sorry your cat is suffering." Nothing. Just another demand for money. Even human doctors will often refill medications if it has been less than a year, especially for chronic conditions. But apparently when it comes to a dying animal, there is no room for grace, empathy, or humanity unless another office fee is attached to it. What hurts the most is realizing that while I was sitting there terrified of losing my fur child, emotional, financially struggling, and begging for help to keep him comfortable, the only thing that seemed to matter to them was collecting another $100 office visit. I posted about my experience on Facebook afterward, and sadly, multiple people commented saying they had experienced the same thing from this facility -- that it felt more about money than genuine care or compassion for animals and the families who love them. People are already hurting enough when their pets are sick. The last thing they need is to feel dismissed, unheard, and financially cornered while trying to help an animal they love like family.

Despite having time to intervene, the staff failed to separate the dogs, resulting in my dog defending himself. I am now being held responsible for the other dog's veterinary bill, which is deeply unfair and unacceptable given the circumstances and poor supervision. In addition, my dog returned home with kennel cough, indicating inadequate health protocols. I urge fellow pet owners to consider alternative day camp & boarding options where animals are properly monitored and cared for. EDITED TO ADD: Be warned that the owner will use the signed waiver, release and indemnification to justify the fact that their staff does not monitor the dogs appropriately and, apparently, they don't need to. 2nd EDIT: After reading the owner's condescending response on Google, I feel compelled to clarify a few points. My dog reacted to another camper's aggressive behavior, and unfortunately, staff failed to intervene in time to prevent the altercation. I was later informed that the staff member present was formally written up due to their lack of action. It's also important to note that my dog was permitted to return to camp following the incident, and I continued to spend hundreds of dollars at this business--completely unaware that this situation was being held against me. This is bad business.

I called ahead to see if it they would have a problem if I brought my dog in with me (obviously you can't leave animals in cars) and they were SO accommodating! She asked how big it was and if it was well behaved. I am so glad I thought to call and ask first, because they were able to put some cardboard in a cart for my dog to comfortably sit so I wouldn't have to carry him around the store. They were also able to make sure the birds that were still out wouldn't be upset by my pups presence. I whole-heartedly appreciate that while they certainly took a risk allowing me to come in with him (as some owners believe they have a well behaved dog when in fact the truth is the opposite) as they would've been well within their rights to say they preferred I visit without him at another time and I gladly would've complied! Fortunately for me he's well behaved therapy dog with excellent manners. Onto the actual review of the store since now you get the gist of how wonderful the staff are! The store, while it's pretty small, is ridiculously well stocked which can make maneuvering the aisles tricky (probably not wheelchair friendly, and it's definitely a dancing act with other patrons of this awesome store) but it is well worth it! They have the most incredible selection of bird supplies!! Scoop-yourself foods of different sizes and contents, perches, cages, SO MANY great toys to choose from, books, training supplies, bird safe cleaning products, flight suits, build-yourself toy pieces, medicine, AND bird grooming and boarding services! If birds aren't your thing, they also have another portion of the store for small mammals and reptiles, with a wide variety of supplies for each! I am very happy I decided to stop in, and I will definitely be back! Thanks again, this visit made my day!

By the second visit, on the way there they seem to know they were going to see their favorite extended "Family" and all their buddies. Jerry and Honey show them affection and attention when they are there and this makes them comfortable with their surroundings and their accommodations because they are right at home. My babies are social but when being boarded I prefer them to be separated from other dogs due to us being out of the area and you just never know how animals will react to each other in any situation and it's better to be safe than sorry. They accommodate our wishes and I truly believe our pets feel safer with their situation away from us and home with them like this, could be why they didn't feel comfortable at other kennels we took them to, the other kennels we took them to insisted on putting them with other dogs for playtime (even when asked not to) and I think even though they engaged with some, it was intimidating for them. The routine here definitely fits our pets personalities better. Our babies are still happy to see us when we come home, thank goodness. lol! But they also don't crawl out of the door in fear when leaving and they always are happy to come back. If you're looking for a place where you're pets will be as comfortable, safe and as happy as they can be away from home, this is it!
