A great place to learn about Noah's Ark, especially for me because I am not very familiar with the story. I'd been hearing about the Ark Encounter from friends for years, so we finally made the trip over the Fourth of July weekend. Ideally you can spend a half a day here... My pro tip: get there early, especially on weekends. There are huge crowds and while there's plenty of parking, it's $15 fee and you'll take a shuttle to the Ark. If you don't want a long walk in the full sun or long shuttle lines, arrive early or wait until a couple of hours before closing. Inside the venue there are plenty of clean bathrooms on every level. Be prepared to do a lot of reading and exploring. It's fascinating to see how they explain everything from food storage and waste to daily life aboard the Ark, along with exhibits covering the Ice Age and biblical history like Adam and Eve. I'd recommend this more for adults or older kids. Younger children might lose interest quick since many of the exhibits are reading based. We visited during a heat wave, so we skipped the zoo, restaurants, and zip lines outside. My only downside is that admission is a little pricey, especially since those attractions aren't included with the ticket but the park is well kept, so clean. I'm giving another review. Since my last visit was 4 years ago. I'm sticking with 3.5 stars. Again- staff was very friendly. Ark is jaw dropping and very awe inspiring. We felt like this attraction though is such a money grab especially for it being in the middle of nowhere. Many things are extra. And I didn't care for the amount of things that were about the man who built the Ark. I feel biblically - it shouldn't be about him. Many of his items were for sale in the gift shop, many movies were pertaining to him and lots of exhibits were about him and his opinion. I felt like there was almost less to do inside the Ark than my first visit but maybe I'm wrong. Buffet was good value for what you get. I'd recommend going a little before lunch. We didn't wait at all. The zoo was cute, you can pet a kangaroo- but was a bummer it's only on the path. So if a kangaroo doesn't cross the path you can't pet it. Zoo keeper was pretty abrupt about that. Eagle and barn animals were cool! Camel encounter costs extra. As well as gem mining and the Virtual Reality is extra too. Playground area was a hit for our kids. (This is free and included) We spent less than four hours here and we felt we did everything we could that was included in our ticket. Noah, his wife, sons, and their wives each had over 200 animals to feed and care for...living quarters for the family'...it was comfortable space... My 15 year old and I enjoyed our visit. The process flow moved orderly and quickly. We definitely got our walking steps in. I appreciate that they depicted diversity with Noah and his family. Most places, movies, books do not do this. The depiction of dinosaurs were little off to me but nevertheless, I found the experience good. It was a little expensive. We enjoyed the outside zoo area. We did the VR experience too. This was ok but you can definitely skip this. When we got ready to leave, busses were readily available to take us back to the parking lot. read more

This was super over crowded. The ark itself was cool until you got in and realized it was a few animal statues scattered among 3 whole floors. There were exhibits but they all were too full to even experience and read the information which is what it all was. All just reading huge plaques. The price of all of this was outrageous. And then you have to buy everything on top of the ticket. No photo should be $30 a piece. This place is just taking advantage of family's, believers, and the elderly. The zoo part of it all was cool but It's not something you can't see anywhere else for less money and a better experience. Please don't waste your time and just go to church instead. read more

WOW the ark at the Ark Encounter, in Williamstown, Kentucky, was massive! The pictures do not do it justice. It was created to the same specifications of the Ark in the Bible. We went the Tuesday after Labor Day which was wonderful as there were no crowds and hardly any children since school recently started back. Don't get me wrong, I love kids, but it added to the peaceful experience. I suggest buying all your tickets online as you will save some money. We parked in the lot and caught a bus up the hill to the ark. We bypassed the Answer Center and grabbed some pics of the ark as there weren't many people there yet. Then we headed to the virtual reality theater, Truth Traveler. If you purchase your tickets online you must see the attraction before 1:00 PM. We walked right in and were seated immediately. The virtual show lasted roughly 10 minutes and included large bursts of air blowing on you and the seat moved a little. But you aren't strapped in so don't worry. We both enjoyed the show! Our next stop was the ark. Leading up to the ark stop at each monument to see the creation story both written and carved on stones. You start on the ground level and walk up ramps to each deck. Each deck, except the ground level, has restrooms and a water fountain. The exhibits were nice and there were two theaters on two decks. Lastly we checked out the zoo which included a sloth, camel, alpaca, anteater, and several other animals and birds. Don't forget to walk into the kangaroo and wallaby exhibit. Get up close and personal with these animals. But don't get too close LOL. Everyone working at the park truly seemed to love their job and were willing to offer help when needed. This was an absolute amazing experience! You literally don't imagine how big the Ark really is until you experience this. Parking is $15 and fills up fast. We had to park a ways out but wasn't a bad walk to the front. Recommend getting your ticket online before you go because then you won't have to stand in 2 different lines. When you arrive and after you get your tickets and go thru security you'll board a bus that takes you to the Ark. it's probably about a 5-7 minute drive. Not long at all. Not only is there the Ark experience but they also have the zoo and a carousel and a virtual reality experience. There are a few eateries around also. FYI that if you get the combo ticket for the Creation Museum and the Ark that the drive from the Ark to the museum is 45 minutes. We didn't have time to go to the museum so that part of our ticket was a waste. But we really enjoyed the Ark. it's a lot of walking. read more

Highly recommend but plan on a long visit with lots of walking. We attended on Labor Day weekend on a Sunday. After parking, we stood in a long line, to progress to another line to take the bus to the event center. The first building is called the event center with a coffee stand, snack stand, bookstore, and theater. There are a few different times of the day that different videos are shown. They are educational and explanatory. I would recommend them. From the event center there is a bit of a walk to get to the entrance of the ark. Along the path are some informational pillars and small animal cages. There is a point you can stop for a nice picture of the ark. Entering under the ark there is an area for very long lines, we did stand in line to get in but thankfully they weren't that backed up. Inside the ark: there are lots of exhibit/dioramas to visit and read. It appears that on each level (of 3 levels) there are short videos to watch. Some areas were backed up with lines. There wasn't much interaction to the exhibits. Some were based on fact, some on speculation. We ate dinner at the buffet. It was full with diners but it never felt busy. The food was fresh, tasty, and we enjoyed the offerings. You enter in to the salad bar and sides, then continue to the entree stations. It was easy to fill our plate and run out of room. There is a small dessert area, and two ample drink stations. Plates, silverware, and cups are all disposable. After our meal and towards the closing time, we walked through the zoo area. While I would say it was a small zoo, it is very enjoyable. Some of the sections didn't have animals but those that we saw were interesting. Note - Sunday hours are shorter than other days and we didn't feel we had enough time to experience everything. We wanted to be able to eat dinner so we had to rush through part of the second floor and the entire third floor of the ark. read more

I have read the story of Noah more than 100 maybe even 1000 times, I never understood the staggering scope of the immensity and detail that four men accomplished with the help and guidance of God. Such a blessed day! Like others have said this was such an amazing experience but for my review I will post a few tips- buy tickets online, come early in the morning, if you can come during non peak seasons- we came in April and it was off season and no lines anywhere for anything! It was perfect! Parked car right up front, walked right in and started the "tour" it's self paced. You can scan a QR code and listen to recordings ( should have brought our earbuds) upon exiting there is of Course the bothersome tourist trap of stuff to buy it drops you into but after you exit is a cute zoo! Free so it's fun to walk the loop! With no one there don't miss the kangaroos first enclosure on the left - you get to walk around with them - very cool! We loved it and highly recommend- I would also bring a cooler with waters and snacks for before and after - unless you want to spend a ton and get snacks or eat at their buffet- not our jam but you do you read more

Super cool experience. It's a biblical replica of the ark. It's massive and so impressive. Parking is $15 and from there you walk to the ticket center which then takes you on a short bus ride to the ark experience. Children under 10 are free. Inside the ark is a representation of what it would have been like during that time. You'll see so many different animal kinds (in pairs) and how they would've been housed and fed. I swear I wrote a review... Strange. Visited the Ark Encounter back in October during a whirlwind road trip. I'm torn on my rating. The grounds was immaculate. The staff was friendly. The shuttle transportation from the parking lot to the ark was dialed in. The gift shops were expansive. Not a great place to bring kids that are too young to read. My kids got bored right away. The ark has 3 levels and there's sooo much to read. I found some of the exhibits hard to read because the lighting levels can be low in places, and the font sizes too small. The line queues were confusing. Many times the line was situated in such a way that you couldn't bypass an exhibit. We even encountered another guest who wouldn't let us pass. We weren't trying to cut in line just skip the particular exhibit. The video they played in their theater area was incredibly hokey. We left after a few minutes. The little zoo was a nice change of pace from standing in lines and crowds. My kiddos loved the carousel. Pro tip: Visit as an adult, or with teens that are highly interested and ready to spend the day reading and studying the exhibits. read more

The Ark Encounter was an experience. We flew into Cincinnati and stayed the night there before venturing down an hour to the middle of nowhere for the Ark. We also stopped a bit out of the way at the Big Bone Lick state park (which was small and free) and saw bison and deer and old fossils so that was a treat. The Ark area has some brand name hotels now right on the Ark property. We didn't stay after, just drove through the country estates to Louisville. It was very cold outside and we didn't know what to expect. The bus was fine and the Ark was nice and toasty. Most of the food stands were closed and a lot of the zoo animals were not out because it was cold. (There are maybe only 10 to begin with so 4 of them missing is a lot). The playground looked fun for the kids. We skipped the Answer building and zip line. The whole thing was fine. No one asked about our faith. They made fun of themselves (flood of refill refillable souvenir cups). The gift shop was gigantic and had a little bit of everything. In my opinion it was a costly stop but an experience. It is grand and laid out well. You can go as fast or slow as you'd like. Parking was $15 and that was before you even bought a ticket. They laid it out so you can't see anything from the parking lot. Would I come here again? Not a chance! But am I glad I did? Sure, I came and I saw. read more

It took me a while to write this because I was conflicted with my experiences throughout my visit to The Ark Encounter. Although, it was a good experience over all there is definitely potential to be better as there are some improvements needed. The Ark itself is beautiful outside as well as in AND the presence of GOD is there. It's a lot of info to take in so on-goers should arrive early. Wish they had a guided tour option and have it led by a staff to walk you through --that would be dope! It was super crowded which was very overwhelming and overstimulating for me (on a Saturday -- so perhaps the weekdays are less of a crowd. (2) reasons I took off stars has to do with the photo situation we experienced (FOTOFX) and gift shop at the bottom of the Ark before you exit: With the 'FOTOFX' it's like they force you to get certain packages just to get 1-2 background you may want. We wanted to get the magnet and the background of The Cross and were told we had to get that particular package in order to get the magnet and pic of The Cross. We had already taken pics at the entrance with the Ark & the rainbow so with their packages the backgrounds are: + x2 different backgrounds of The Ark +The Rainbow (GOD's covenant to not flood the entire Earth) +The Cross (JESUS's promise of Salvation) If people have already taken their photo op's infront of the Ark and the Rainbow but you're forcing them to get these in order to get what we really wanted -- which was the photo of the cross behind us and the magnet then like what are we doing here!? I don't think it was very CHRIST like, tbh. Granted the folks who were there I know they were just doing their jobs but this should be CHANGED, ASAP. People should be allowed to get the photos of their choosing not strong-armed into getting picture packages. Then you give us the magnet with the pictures BUT you don't put the picture into the magnet??? That's false advertising. We were told "Oh, we don't have scissors". So you tell us this after we pay... though. THEN "Encounter" is missing from the bottom half of our pictures... This was NOT COOL! Price of picture package: (4) prints + magnet (that was suppose to have the picture inside - $49.82 Next: the gift shop at the bottom of The Ark -- I didn't see enough staff walking around to assist guests who may have had questions or needed to be pointed into the right direction. Customers walking around aimlessly looking for what appeared to be one register. The line was crazy folks were jumping the lines. There was a lady who got infront of us while we were in line and her excuse was "I'm ready to check out". We turned our head for not even a minute to see a journal that was right next to the register -- that was crazy. Once we got rung up who stood out for me was Desmond -- so sweet, meek and mild. Desmond shared, "I saw what happen" and "I'm sorry about that". He had nothing to be sorry about but he was so gracious and kindhearted. Please Employ More Staff like Desmond -- that's a great staff you have on your team! Ultimately, there are some things to be aware of as stated above and also if you get a Uber or Lyft there it's hard to get one leaving as we tried and it was over $100 just to bring us 11 miles to our AIRBNB. So, if you're from out of town PLEASE get a rental car! I would like to come back during a weekday and recommend that everyone experience it for themselves at least once. Very pricey. After dropping a lot on parking and entry cost you take a bus ride to the Ark site, expect to walk, once inside the ARK expect every deck to have gift shops, snack counters and booths of artists selling, all this takes away that you are, not, in fact on the ARK but a Disney style theme park, a cookie costs 5 bucks. And if you buy from any of the gift shops on the ARK, you will carry it for the next few hours. It may be a full size ARK, but yoh experience maybe 65% of a ARK, the rest is food, gifts, selling booths. Many of the plaques that had information and explained things could not be read without a flashlight as it was dark and had many blind spots. Gluten free? Nope. The buffet was a complete rip off, it was open, but staff were still putting food out, food was cool, choices very limited, deserts were subpar, plates were small so expect to return to the line. No Gluten free choices. Diabetics should bring their own food, $45 bucks after discounts for 3 people, food was just as good as a bad fast food restaurant, maybe. Frist time visiting, and it was the last time. Dropped over $2,000 on this trip, waste. read more

A once-in-a-lifetime experience for believers and non-believers alike. The Ark itself is a modern marvel. One of the most interesting structures I've ever seen. The exhibits are interesting though there is an odd fascination with dinosaurs. Cool for kids but doesn't hold much biblical water. A lot of speculative theories intertwined in some stuff. Not necessarily a bad thing, just odd. There's quite a bit to see between the Ark and the zoo and other attractions. We had an amazing time and highly recommend adding this your bucket list. What a great place for kids and adults alike! There's a small zoo on site with very interesting animals, like a giant aardvark, and all sorts of side attractions like zip lining, carousel, arcades. But mainly, there's actually a real life size Noah's Ark right in the center! Best get there early as it fills up fast, kids under 10 are free! Parking is not included, but you do get a shuttle ride up to the Ark area. There is coffee on site, and some snacks, but also a buffet! We started early in the zoo and then went to the Ark. We had a full day planned, so took in the highlights in about 2.5 hours, but easily could spend a day here, or partner your ticket with the Creation Museum in Cincinnati proper for wholesome family entertainment, whether or not you are a true believer, there's something to see no matter what! read more

My family and I came here for the weekend to experience the Ark. We did the zip lining first in the morning at the Screaming Eagles Zip Lining course which is in the same park ask the Ark. We did Level 1 which was 1.5 hours but we wish we did a Level 2 or 3 because it felt short and you only get to go on 3 lines. We also had a 12 year old and 2 15 year olds and they had a blast. After the zip lining, we did the Ark and I was annoyed by all the line waiting. I thought we would've been able to roam around at our own leisure throughout the Ark but they had us stay in single filed lines moving through so that dampened the experience. We ate at Emzara's Buffett which was good but packed! The zoo section was pretty neat - there's a camel encounter and kangaroo walk through. read more

Breath taking adventure. From the moment you park, walk to the bus station, enter the park all the way to the ark and back to your car everything runs like a well oiled machine. Everything is wheelchair accessible including the buses. Super friendly staff throughout the park. I would recommend if it's going to be a hot day to do the zoo part first as the ark does have AC. Plan on this trip being no less than 4 hrs if you plan to really take it all in. We were lucky enough to catch a concert seeing it's the 40 days of Christian music festival right now. So added bonus. We visited June 27th 2025. A Friday about a week before the Fourth of July. It was busy but not too packed. So when you arrive you will park in a big lot and head to a bus stand. There is not an indoor bathroom here but they did put portable toilets by the parking lot. We headed to the bus and while the first was full the next was boarding and we immediately hoped on. It's a short ride up a hilly terrain that allows you to take in the scope of the attraction. There is much to see. Many gift shops, a pretty nice zoo, a buffet style restaurant, some smaller food stands, the ark itself of course, and when you first get there the welcome center. The welcome center has a gift shop, coffee shop, little to go cafe for sandwiches and such, a speaking hall, and of course bathrooms! Out the door to the right heads directly to the ark. There are some good photo opportunities here. On our visit the ramp to the ark and door were closed. So we headed to the bottom level entrance and chose to go to the elevator since we have a mobility disinclined member of our party. Everything about this facility is well planned and accessible. After reading reviews online we chose to start our tour at the top and work our way down and I'm really happy we did. The more cognitive exhibits were on the third floor and we saw several kids checking out and rushing their families through them due to running out energy or interest. We hit up one floor in an hour and then took a break to head to the buffet. The buffet had a long line and only one cashier when we went which was slightly annoying to stand in the heat but once inside the lines moved quickly. They have average food here. But it's nutritious and balanced and endless with drinks. They also had dessert and hot coffee and tea so no need to buy one separate at the other stands. They also give a 20% military discount and it was worth it for the amount of food you receive. Everything about this attraction is fairly priced. From the shops to the food to the entrance. After lunch we headed back to the second floor. Then it was a movie and gift shop where we bought some Christmas presents and took a family picture at the ark door and then walked through an exhibit about salvation. The first floor was my favorite as the sound and visuals make you think you are really in the flood. There is so much to see and the choice of what you believe is left up to you. Here is the evidence they are sharing you decide what you think. Then we left through the back gift shop where the kids all picked an animal from the ark. Then we headed to the zoo. It was fun and well maintained. I'm glad we got to see this and enjoyed watching people from all over the world visit it with us. I went with my group to Williamstown Kentucky to see the Ark encounter which is a life-size replica of Noah's Ark. The AIG team that built this Ark did a fantastic job and in comparison to the 120 years, it took Noah to build the ark in the Bible, with all the tools and equipment we have today it took them seven years to complete this project. There was lots of information, which answered so many questions from the Bible about the ark; where Noah and his family lived, how the animals were kept, what they fed them and so many more. Looking at the magnitude of this Ark is absolutely breathtaking, but, the one thing that I would change about this encounter is, if you go to the backside of it, you see that the Ark is the same as the front and it takes away from the experience. One of thee absolute best museums I have ever been too. Our family has dreamed for years of going to the Ark Encounter. Pictures cannot give justice to how BIG the Ark museum really is. Then you get inside and the museum is brought to life. The best part is everything is backed with scripture. The Ark's true foundation is THE BIBLE. In the museum they take you throughout Genesis, God's plan for man and how man fell from grace due to sin and how God sent his Son to redeem man. One of the most powerful parts of the museum is a door with the shadow of a cross. Reminding us that God sealed Noah and his family in the Ark when he closed the door to the Ark. The displays are a mere tool the truth is found in the scripture that is presented throughout. Their goal is NOT a museum...their goal is to witness the truth of Biblical creation and salvation through Jesus Christ. read more

More than just the ark! So you are ready for the experience it starts parking in a huge parking lot and getting your tickets. Then you take a bus to the front where you see the ark and can walk to it after the external photos and go inside three levels to see exhibits able the story of the ark and other Bible stories. You then end up outside and across is a buffet restaurant at a decent price. There is an area to see various animals and a large playground. There are other food options by the playground. For 40 days during the summer there are concerts included in the admission price you just need to tell them you want to attend and they will give you a wristband. The concert and speaker are hosted in a spacious conference/concert area with the gift shop at the end with a coffee and small food options in the same building but outside the concert area. Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the full concert with young kids, they could only stay so long with focus before getting restless with the speaker so we missed the headliner. read more

We have been hearing about the ark encounter for a number of years, and finally had a chance to check it out! It is quite simply, an amazing spot to check out! Located off the freeway, it's a little ways from a lot of places in the area, but not that far from a number number of major cities. We were visiting friends in Indianapolis and decided to make a couple hour track down that direction. Signs from the freeway direct you to a massive parking lot. It almost feels like you're going to, a big sporting event. once you park, you are directed over to the ticketing area where you pay and then jump on buses to shuttle you over to the actual arc. I can't overstate how large rhe I don't know what I was expecting in my mind, but this thing was much larger than anything I had thought. 300 x 50 x 30 cubits is a gigantic vessel! You enter on the lowest level and gradually work your way up, seeing tons of different areas along the way. There are tons of signs to read, rooms to explore and explanations throughout. It was very informative! The group that worked to start, the ark encounter, does a great job of providing some evidence for the flood and presents some pretty compelling discussion points for it. For anyone who is science minded, it's a really good spot to check out. Outside, there's a zoo with tons of different animals and live shows throughout the day. We got to pet snakes and Watch an armadillo practice for his show. It was delightful! The rest of the zoo had large and small animals, and again was really fun to walk through. it wasn't overly large, so it was nice to be able to see animals, and then go on our merry way. The most memorable part of my visit to the Ark Encounter was unfortunately the depressing zoo area. The animals appear to be kept in extremely small enclosures with little to no stimulation, and many of them looked sad and lethargic. There are signs throughout the zoo talking about stewardship and respecting God's animals, but the conditions there don't reflect that message at all. In addition, they buy most of the animals from breeders. The exhibits themselves are also very text-heavy. Be prepared to do a lot of reading, and if it's crowded you may end up waiting to move through some of the smaller exhibits because they are pretty tight spaces. We had originally planned to visit both the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum, but we didn't realize they were about 45 minutes apart. So, we decided to just spend the day at the Ark Encounter, and I'm really glad we did! Admission is a bit pricey, but honestly, it felt worth it. Every employee we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful, which made the experience even better. It was a hot day, but once inside, the temperature was cool and comfortable. The main attraction, of course, is the Ark itself and it is massive! It has three levels filled with exhibits, and we spent about four hours exploring everything. The craftsmanship was truly beautiful, and the displays were informative and well done. I enjoyed every part of it. We arrived later than expected, so we didn't get to do some of the outdoor activities like the camel rides, which had already closed. But we're definitely planning to come back and spend more time exploring the outside attractions. Overall, we had a wonderful time. The Ark Encounter left a lasting impression on us. I understand it may not be for everyone, and if you show up already feeling critical, you're probably not going to enjoy it. But if you go in with an open mind, take it for what it is, and just enjoy the experience you'll get so much more out of it. That's how I see it! read more

What a wonderful interesting place. The Ark is so amazing, we stayed 6 hours! There is a lot of information to read. There is also a zip line, ropes course and zoo. I DO NOT recommend this for children under 15 because it's more of an adult activity. There is lots of reading. read more
