We had Ark-La-Tex come out and cover our back patio and concrete counter tops on our outdoor Kitchen area. We are excited to see how everything has turned out. They have been great to work with, very helpful with picking out colors and working with us. Not everything has been without problems. We had issues to start with and what speaks more to me about a company is how they handle issues like that. Ark-La-Tex has stayed with us and made sure everything was fixed to our satisfaction. Started July 1st when I ordered the doors through Home Depot. Twice they came in damaged and the 3rd time they were the wrong size. This is now October the 1st and I was assured they would be in at 9am today to install. I called 3 times to verify because I took off the morning from work to get it done. Then I get a call in the afternoon saying that I should have been called this morning and told they weren't coming. What would your frustration level be like right now? Called this morning to get them to come out to fix garage door. They would charge $200.00 dollars to come out for same day service. If I waited ONE DAY it would be $100.00. I have always used this company for garage door repairs and they have never charged his before. They have gotten to big for their britches, down at Ark-La- Tex Garage Door. After calling several 24/7 companies with "emergency service," they never even bothered to call back! Ark-La-Tex gave me excellent next-day service with a very knowledgeable technician named Kevin. This company is outstanding!!! Ended up being trapped in my garage do to a broken spring. Customer service was excellent. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful. They were very accommodating to my schedule. We set up a arrival window and the technician was very quick and efficient and got me along with my day! This negative review is because of the owner, Donald, and his complete lack of customer service skills or people skills. He took a negative, and frankly condescending tone with me when I called to ask why the service technician was over an hour late for my appointment. I did not even receive an apology but instead several excuses. In fact, he tried to make it out to be my fault for setting a specific time of day for my appointment when his technicians "don't do that". He took a defensive posture from the onset of the call and made sure to tell me that I was talking to the owner of the company and that he was in business for 20 years. Neither of these facts have anything to do with his technician being late. Only someone who is posturing and trying to be nothing more than a jerk would say them to a customer waiting for a service technician. I asked for compensation for taking off work early to meet the technician, who didn't show up until almost 7:30 P.M. This is not out of the question considering I was kept waiting for 3 and a half hours. Anyone who knows anything about customer service would be happy to make this concession. In a very aggressive tone of voice, bordering on yelling, he said, "I'm not discussing price with you!" He ended the call by asking in a very rude tone of voice, "Do you want your door fixed or not?!" The only reason I let his technician touch my door is because it had already been broken for 4 days.
