Today was my first day going to a painting class. It was a lot of fun. Adam was a great teacher and…read morehelped us fix certain things we didn't like. For example a few us did not like our tree branches because it was too thick. He told us why our branches were thick and then told us the technique to thin our branches out. I know a few of us were OCD about our painting and Adam had a lot of patience with us. He also took a blank canvas and let the class practice brush strokes, leaves, birds, etc before painting on our own canvas because many were scared to mess up their paintings. The only negative about the experience was the restaurant that was hosting. Saddle Creek Woodfired Grill is a great location however, the lighting is bad and as it darker it got outside, the harder it was to see in the restaurant. Overall I enjoyed the whole experience and definitely want to do it again.

Our guide was engaging, incredibly knowledgeable, and made the history so interesting. We especially loved hearing about the Razorback's long second life serving in the Turkish Navy before eventually making her way back to Arkansas. Going down inside the submarine and actually getting to look around was just incredibly cool. We also really enjoyed the museum -- my kid loves old military patches, and they have a HUGE display that was a definite hit. Bonus points for the turtles swimming around in the river. Fascinating history, a fantastic tour, and just a really fun experience. Absolutely recommend it!
