Just note things are a bit overpriced, but that's kind of expected in a station like this. One thing that really stood out to me was how friendly and helpful people are. If you ask for help, they genuinely go out of their way, which made navigating way less stressful. Overall, it's pretty easy to find your way, but it's so big that you can def get a little lost. It also has direct access to the subway, which is super convenient. One tip: if you buy the 18-minute ticket to the airport, double check exactly what you're being sold and make sure you keep your copy. The tours & ticket booth (near McDonald's) sold us the wrong ticket and we weren't able to use it nor get refunded, which was really disappointing.

I used this station as my commute to and from the city to and from where I stayed while in Sweden. Enjoys the transportation here a lot, easy and right on time and cheap too. We were not the only cruise shop disembarking either. Imagine the logistical nightmare this can be when trying to get to another destination - this time an airport - within a specific time frame to make your flight. THE SETUP Unfortunately, we find out at the last minute as we are disembarking that Royal Caribbean Customer Service really dropped the ball on hundreds of us passengers when their system "disappeared", "lost", "screwed up" (take your pick) our final destination transportation plans to get us either back to downtown Stockholm and/or to the airport to catch flights. So there we are: we've just arrived at the Frihamnscaféet port terminal, and are trying to locate & grab our luggage, find our loved ones and friends in order to figure our transportation detail. ALTERNATIVES For those who did not make plans - or had theirs botched - it's difficult enough, like herding cats trying to find your ride (anywhere) with thousands of people in the terminal, at the curb, in the streets trying to locate your pre-made rides (if those were set-up correctly). Imagine if you are then stuck trying to secure a ride. *CABBIES & VANS: The port is some dozen miles or so outside of Downtown Stockholm. Cabbies and vans usually are only going to the port if they already have a patron reservation made in advance (and this is where Royal Caribbean dropped the ball on us because our reservations were not processed by the front desk as we had communicated to their agents, in person; * BUS: Only about $5 U.S., but the nearest bus stop is more than a mile away - imagine those in your party with two or three suitcases trying to make it down the street, and THEN deal with that on the bus. [That's how I actually got to the port with my one roller suitcase, which wasn't a big deal, but walking through half the harbor was a chore with it.] But the Port is basically on the other side of downtown Stockholm, so the buses come back to the downtown Stockholm "Central Station", where you then have to jump another $10 bus ride to get to the airport which is about another 20 miles out. Or you can catch a $15 bus that goes straight from Central Station to the airport. So at this point, you in at least about $15-$20, and anywhere between two (2) to three (3) hours transit, just to get to the airport. TAXI STOCKHOLM 15 Another international passenger gave us the recommendation to call Taxi Stockholm 15. As it turned out, a Taxi Stockholm 15 cabbie was going to be there in 20 minutes after they dropped off another cruise passenger on a nearby line's pier. T-Centralen where "T" is an abreviation for "tunnelbana" that is the Swedish word for underground. Lots of escalators and many lifts. This is the only station where all of the subway lines meet and is therefore the busiest station in the Swedish network with an underground underpass to the Stockholm Central Station (for national and regional trains) where we caught the Arlanda Express to the airport. Both of the blue lines (Lines 10 and 11), both of the red lines (Lines 13 and 14) and all three of the green lines (Lines 17, 18 and 19). Thankfully, there's a great color map that shows what's what and where. Many food and shopping opportunities. Luggage storage areas. Several places to sit and rest. In August, there are usually a few stages with live music as part of the Stockholms Kulturfestival (http://kulturfestivalen.stockholm.se/ ). It's really worth checking out the festival program, if you're in Stockholm at that time. During the year, there are also many other events, so you should not be surprised if you go there and something is going on. When it's suny, Kungsträdgården is a great place to enjoy the sun. There are many benches around, and also a kind of fountain where many people hang out when the weather is nice. It's not only close to the palace, but also to the opera, Sergels torg, Östermalmstorg and other locations in central Stockholm. That also makes it a good meeting place.

I was pleased to find that the ferry from Gamla Stan to Djurgarden was included in my little one…read moreday travelcard when I was in Stockholm off the Norwegian Star for the day. I had previously thought I'd have to do this convoluted bus/bus/tram connection to go around the top to get to the bridge to the island. Going across on a ferry is far easier than doing that. The ferry itself reminded me of the larger ones from Venice and of course the ones in New York, but with an interesting feature - you board and depart directly on the front of the vessel - and the ship is entirely symmetrical so it doesn't need to turn around ever. Our one issue was that we were unaware of the extra stop it sometimes makes between Gamla Stan and Djurgarden, and we got off there by mistake. We managed to grab a geocache and took some photos of Gamla Stan while we waited for the next ferry - if you do make that mistake, then just be sure to hit the call button at the ferry port, otherwise you might get skipped when the ferry goes direct. Otherwise, it was enjoyable, quick and comfortable enough for a ferry.

The main reason for taking Djurgårdsfärjan hoough, is the view you'll get of Stockholm. It's definitely a classic must-do in Stockholm, and no matter if you're going to Skansen, the amusement park Gröna Lund, the Wasa museum or any of the many other attractions on Djurgården, you can get there with Djurgårdsfärjan. Another advantage is that you can use your SL ticket on Djurgårdsfärjan - no matter if it's a montly card that most of us Stockholmers have, a tourist pass or a single zone A ticket you've just used for the subway or bus trip.

Also there's no clock in the room, and we were told that's Sweden... A highlight is the free delicious full breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant serves Asian cuisine and the decor has a distinct Asian flair and vibe to it. The front desk are all lovely ladies who are personable. Not the best though with concierge questions. Knocking down the rating a star because we needed to change our stay dates due to an airline change, but the hotel would not refund the night we did not stay...the hotel was alerted 7 weeks ahead of the request and still rejected it.

Public transportation is about 5 min walking distance away as well. 2. The continental breakfast that's included was incredible. 3. Very helpful staff. Almost all of the people working at the reception did their best to answer all the questions, booking restaurants, checking for tickets to the museums and even scheduling my train ride to Copenhagen. 4. It also has a decent little fitness center with a workout room and Sauna that's enough for a quick exercise while you're there. 5. The room service was also wonderful. Slow WiFi, uncomfortable small beds, decent size rooms, very clean, great music. Elite Eden Park will be my first choice when I come back to Stockholm.

After leaving here it is a good walk away from what I'd say is the main part of Solna, one of the country's fastest-growing cities a short journey away from Stockholm so if you are heading to a game at the Friends Arena or the country's largest shopping mall, Mall of Scandinavia you might want to take the train from Stockholm City instead getting into Solna Station for easier access - however, this could be a way to beat the crowds. There were signs for the Friends Arena and Mall of Scandinavia originally but after leaving the platform, it was so difficult as everything seemed to vanish - even finding the bus stop to head there was a little tricky and my GPS seemed to be unable to direct me any further as Google Maps doesn't seem to understand underground subways. It is right near Solna Centrum shopping mall, of course carrying the same name but this appears to be really run down since the opening of Mall of Scandinavia in late 2015. The station is only on one line, T11 which means if you want to make any connections onto any other line, you would probably have to go into Central Station which isn't ideal, but it could help to beat the crowds on a match-day after waiting for AIK or Sweden's national team play nearby. 3* - The artwork is something to be proud at and once you know where you're going (good for the many houses and offices close to the station), the commute towards Solna centrum and the shopping, dining and football facilities isn't too bad - better signage from the station and perhaps making this station staffed would be a great improvement. As with any station on the metro network, it is step-free and the gap between the train and the platform isn't bad compared to other stations as expected as this is a newer station, opening on the 1975 blue line extension.

The website was fairly easy to access to obtain information and the woman at the counter was even more informative. She told us where we should go and gave us all the information. The ferries are pretty easy to use as you just turn up and get on the boat. Once on the boat you can buy your tickets. The boats we took had small cafes and tons of comfy seating. Viewing Stockholm and the surrounding area was wonderful. It provided a unique memorable experience with plenty of photo opportunities! We had a fantastic trip and really recommend this company.
