We had a chance to use Arlington Memorial's services on two occasions last year and during both times, we found their staff and facilities to be satisfactory. We have always opted to use Hall A, which is the largest chapel that they had. Hall A is part of the new building and it features high ceilings and large glass windows that let in a lot of natural light. White canvas blinds and adequate air conditioning gave the space a very open and comfortable feel. Hall A also comes with an en suite toilet and shower plus a pantry with a fridge, a microwave, a wet sink, and an LCD TV. Hall A is actually detached from the rest of the chapels, which gives you some privacy.
The other chapels in the old building, frankly, feel a bit claustrophobic.
Arlington has its own crematorium and for families who choose this option, the staff thoughtfully orchestrates a farewell ceremony where loved ones will strew flowers and write messages to the person they have lost.
Other conveniences include in-house coordination for the publication of obituaries in major newspapers and accredited caterers.
The only constructive criticism that I could offer is that they do need to repair their chipped sidetables and fraying upholstery. They might also consider upgrading the plastic Orocan pail that they use as makeshift rubbish bins in public areas. read more
