Had SUCH a nice time talking to Christopher and learning about Armida's impeccable (and diverse!) wine offerings. From their crisp tropical whites to their substantial reds like Pinot and Zin from different AVAs, there's truly something for everyone here and their location cannot be beat. I'll be telling all my friends about how welcome I felt here and the sincere hospitality I received. Easily a top recommendation!

We are winos here. We enjoy the wine very much. I used to belong to several wine clubs but cut back to this one and another in Lodi. I keep this one because we love to visit capitola and this wine tasting room. It's dog friendly, too. The location cannot be beat. It's right on the little river walk and close to everything.

I love microwineries. It's a no-frills, about the wine, fabulous little spot amidst the center of multi-colored Capitola! Armida was our last stop in our wine adventure, and we were amused by their pirate/rocker vibes! Our winetender was a friendly and sweet tatted up man (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) who was fabulous in all senses of the service word. He was working the Monday closing shift, if that helps. We were so enthralled by many components of their store. From their huge open-window views, LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION right next to the quaint river, and of course their small but mighty selection of wines. I was in love with their pinots and surprisingly their Maple Vineyards Zin! All of their wines are made from grapes in the Sonoma/north of Napa area. That was funny to me because they were in the SC Mountains, which is also home to so many delicious grapes. I wasn't a fan of their PoiZin series, but hey I see why it has a consumerist pull with the cross and bones theme. I'll definitely come back to Armida. Their fabulous service, small-town-feel, yummy reds, and PURSE HOOKS definitely make it easy for me to find reasons to want to return.

Delightful afternoon at the Capitola tasting room with Christopher pouring our wines. I work in the industry and was pleased with the extra wine info he offered. While my favorites are big bold reds, my girlfriend needed to add some white to her collection. The Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc didn't last but 1 day in the cellar - it came out tonight for dinner. Crisp refreshing citrus delicious. I have to say the Syrah was the highlight - worth the wait as the last pour on the tasting. There was a fun couple in at the same time as us - regulars. Had a great time between us all. The wines at Armida are top class.

We stopped by after the capitola wine stroll for a tasting. The $20 fee is a bit high considering the pours are average size so we decided to share a tasting. The first 2 white wines we did not enjoy, too many tannins however the poizin zin was good. To be honest I couldn't differentiate too much between the reserve poizin. We ended up getting a bottle of the poizin as their label is unique and also the tasting fee is waived with a bottle so that was a plus. The service was good and they kept up on which wine we were tasting however not much description about the wine as they poured. Still a nice tasting room to visit if you are in capitola by the sea. And the wine casket is a fun touch if you are gifting the wine or showcasing it

The hostess was extremely condescending. She was extremely rude when we paid. This was my first time here and will never comeback.

The food was absolutely delicious, and our server was incredibly attentive throughout the entire night. To top off an already amazing evening, the staff gifted us a framed photo of us taken at the restaurant, complete with the signature Shadowbrook logo. It was such a thoughtful, classy touch for our anniversary. Between the stunning riverside views, the cable car ride, and the top-tier hospitality, it was an unforgettable night. Highly recommend!

As a consolation, he mailed me a $125 coupon and asked us to call ahead so they could "properly prepare" for our visit. My girlfriend and I decided against giving them advance notice. We didn't want to risk "special treatment" so we returned unannounced on a Saturday lunchtime in May. The 2nd go-around didn't go any better. We were again greeted by disengaged, visibly checked-out staff, and after a round of grunted responses, we were seated in the bar area. The menu itself was a problem: we were told 90% of it wasn't available at lunch, and half of the remaining 10% wasn't available until 2 PM. The food was a repeat of April's disappointment. The clam chowder arrived cold, and no hot food was available at all. Service remained slow and inattentive, and the staff couldn't even process their own gift card. Shadowbrook is a poorly run restaurant with substandard food and service to match. If you're looking for a special-occasion meal in the Bay Area, look elsewhere. This place needs a serious overhaul in the kitchen and on the floor.

I think reservations are required these days, but they're very easy to do online. The seating is in a nice outdoor area in the redwoods overlooking the ocean. A great setting and all of the wines we tried were good as well. Grapes aren't grown on site but are mostly sourced locally which is cool. We enjoyed everything so we were happy to purchase a few bottles. To sweeten the pot they apply your tasting fee to bottle purchase. It's really a no brainier to leave with a wine or two. They're priced pretty reasonably and it's nice supporting a local wine maker.

No worries but still wasn't offered anything else. Was a very relaxing experience would maybe come back it's just minor details. Overall had a fine time. To sum it up quickly the wine overall was I'd say a 7.5 out of 10. Some good, others were a bit mute but not bad.
