We did not have that good of an experience. And it was very expensive - over $1000 to move our stuff into a 4 bedroom home. All of our items were in one storage building and the movers had to empty it and bring it to our new house, 15 minutes away. It took a very long time, even though there was 4 of them and 2 trucks (that we had to pay extra for). When things were finally all brought in, the guys were just going to leave without putting anything together. When asked if they could, they said that since they didn't dis-assemble it that they couldn't put it together. They finally agreed to it and put things together. This included items like our bed, our daughter's crib, table, and side tables. Things were put together very hastily and screws weren't tightened. We had to turn everything over and redo it and tighten it in the following weeks. On top of everything, they stole our step stool. They were using it and we reminded them to please give it back, but they still packed it up and drove off with it. I'm also missing one box of very expensive pots and pans. It was in a clear bin so it was very easy to see what was in the bin. Those are no where to be found. They were in the storage unit when it was packed though. I spoke to Chris, who I believe to be the head honcho, at Armour Bearer two weeks before my move date, and he provided a spot-on accurate estimate, from a time, cost, and manpower perspective. His price blew others out of the water and he had four guys instead of the three everyone else offered. My moving crew showed up early, in good spirits, and didn't complain at all. I had the contents of my life in a 10'x30' storage unit packed floor to ceiling and it was to all to be moved to my new home five miles away, including a very heavy and valuable antique grand piano. My entire move took place in the city of Greensboro, and took about 6 hours total. The moving crew was so honest they knocked time off their price when they stopped for a break and lunch! They went above and beyond. They were afraid to place my piano on my hardwood floors without protectors/sliders, so they offered to wait for me to run to Lowe's to get some. I have used this mover now for two moves. They have great prices but the service is what makes them the only movers I would ever use. They came 15 minutes early and looked around to see what order they needed to pack their truck. The three guys were friendly and professional. They had our whole place packed in an hour. When performing an estimate, Chris (boss at Armour Bearer) had the tact to come by and assess (in person) what needed to be moved. That spoke volumes about his commitment to the job and blew the online assessors out of the water. His estimate was far better than the competitor's too! On the day of the move, I had forgotten that my destination apartment was an additional floor up (3rd story , not 2nd)... which is a big deal when moving! No problem, Armour Bearer accommodated and adjusted the price reasonably (they had to hire 3 additional guys who met the truck at the destination). I moved from Greensboro to Durham. I hired this company to help me pack and load my belongings into a truck. Being 8 MONTHS PREGNANT and by myself, there was no way I was going to be able to do all of it on my own. I initially spoke with Chris, who was very nice and accommodating to the day and time I needed help. In order to save money, I provided boxes, tape, packing paper, and blankets myself. The movers arrived on time. They began packing while I went and got the truck and some water to provide them with. There were 5 movers. They were mostly polite and respectful, with the exception of one of them hitting on me and making suggestive comments to me the whole time and asking personal questions and then tried to get my number. To make it even worse, he was married.. I had noticed the ring on his ring finger before he put gloves on to pack. Two of the movers had to leave early, which I thought would be fine, but then the others ultimately left without completing the job, leaving me to fend for myself. I told them that I needed help with packing and loading everything with the exception of the bathroom, which I would do myself. Toward the end before they left, they continued to ask me if there was anything else they needed to pack and I kept showing them, they'd pack one more thing, and ask me again. This went on for a while until they left to do another job. There were still many things unpacked and I literally had no one else to help me and I tried for hours to finish myself but just ended up injuring my back in the process. I stayed until midnight, drove back home an hour away to stay with my parents, and had to go back the next morning with my dad, who took off work to help me finish packing and loading everything. The whole point of hiring the company was so I didn't have to pack and load and hurt myself, but I ended up doing so anyway. I paid them for the time they were there. I would have paid them more for them to stay and finish the job. The price was reasonable and I even somehow left a tip, which I completely regretted the next day when unloading my belongings to find many damaged items. They did not use the packing paper I provided to pack delicate things. They literally just packed the paper into a box. As a result, there were many broken dishes. And they didn't use any blankets that I provided. My bedroom vanity mirror was completely broken off with the wooden posts of the table it was attached to. This whole moving experience was extremely stressful and I don't know what I would have done if my dad didn't take off work to help me, because I had to be out of there by the end of that day since my lease was up. The men I hired to help me unloaded the truck into my new apartment were impeccable. They were extremely fast and efficient and respectful and wouldn't let me do anything since I'm pregnant. I wish I would have saved that tip money and given more tip to the movers that unloaded than the former. read more

I enjoyed these guys a lot. Fast, efficient, careful, and reasonably priced. I was moving a one bedroom single person's amount of stuff from a storage unit to a third floor apartment the next town over (45 minute drive). With three guys and no elevator they did it in 2 hrs exactly. My only complaint is they left one small item which in their defense could have easily been missed and I didn't double check for it. But they were very apologetic and acted professionally and fixed the mistake to my standards. Definitely recommend them and will be using their services again. read more

These guys were great! Reasonable prices, and although paid by the hour, they didn't move like it. Chris came by to give an estimate and talk everything over. I knew exactly what everything would cost up front. Come moving day, everyone was efficient, but very nice an amenable at the same time. By the end of the day, we were all kidding around with each other, but they never stopped working. After this move, I plan for my next one to be 6 feet under. But if... They set to it and moved our entire home well within the quoted time span. They treated our furniture with respect and we received nothing back with scuffs or breaks.
