So, I moved from out of state, and the company was recommended by a friend. I spoke with Chad several times over the phone and via email, so along with my friend's recommendation, I felt confident that I would have a great experience. Let me tell you...NOT...SO...MUCH! There were 3 men that came to move me in and it was a disaster. My furniture was wrapped in protective plastic to prevent scuffing; however, they removed it all before bringing the furniture into the house, so of course, they scuffed up freshly painted walls, my ceiling, the front door, stairs, my new couch and other furniture. They also did not have/use shoe covers, so my carpet was stained. Furthermore, I paid for extra time to have them set up my beds (I provided the factory instructions), and after 1 week, 2 of the 3 beds fell apart because they did not screw things in appropriately. I also need to point out that 1 of the men had an extremely unpleasant scent. I recognize that moving furniture is a strenuous task; however, wipes, more deodorant, etc. should be used/applied in-between jobs. My dad doesn't have a great sense of smell, and the powerful odor was enough for him to notice. Overall, I would not recommend Algrens, and I would not utilize their services EVER again! They provided a 10% discount for ruining a new couch; however, nothing was offered for the ruined walls, ceiling, doors, carpet, etc. I know moves are not perfect, but when you pay for a service, you should receive quality service, or receive fair compensation/reimbursement for damages. They definitely made an already stressful situation, horrific. read more

I contacted Chad for a moving quote as their rates were extremely reasonable. Two men came out to my apartment and moved 3 rooms into a new place in just under two hours. I will absolutely be using them again for all of my moving needs. They were on time, professional, and their quoted time was more than accurate. I recently used them for an in-state move(High Point-Durham, NC). They were very professional and quick. Granted, it was only enough things for a one-bedroom apartment, but they loaded and unloaded the truck very quickly. There were two things that bothered me, though. One, they called me the morning of the move, and said they were going to be an hour late. Two, they dropped one of my pieces of furniture and essentially ruined it. However, they weren't costly, and everything, save for a minor piece of furniture, was there and intact. I'd recommend this moving service to somebody. read more

This guys simply put were on point, excellent etc etc. We had a terrible experience with a "reputed" moving company regarding my parent's move from Greensboro, NC to Michigan. We found Ahlgren and though skeptical at first Chad at Ahlgren walked us through everything regarding the move in a very smooth and pleasant manner. Chad, even while getting married over the weekend managed to stay in touch and coordinated the entire move. On move day, David and one of his buddies showed up on time and loaded everything up and also accomodated any special requests that we might have had. Also delivery was the next day as promised (Greensboro,NC to Michigan) and no items as fragile as they might have been were damaged. I had a local move only a few miles in Winston. I have a decent amount of furniture, 3 bedrooms. I moved from a single family home to a tri-level townhouse. There were 3 men but they only charged me for 2. Took exactly 4 hours, and we had to make 2 trips back and forth from the house. The guys were great and I will definitely use them again! I'm going to try and keep this review as concise as possible. We moved Saturday November 7th 2015 and I have given myself 10 days to process my experience so I could give the most honest and fair review possible. Chad, the owner, was the nicest guy I spoke with while scouting moving companies. He was extremely friendly and sounded like he actually WANTED our business. He was very professional throughout our entire experience. The actual move was something different altogether... CONS: - The two movers sent out were almost four full hours late; citing truck troubles. Completely threw off our day from the start, and caused us to have to pay our baby sitter for four unnecessary hours. - They did not have a dolly/hand truck to help them move big things; making things take slightly longer than they should have, and slightly more difficult. -They left our toddler beds in the rain/mist for so long they warped/cracked. To this day, we can't put them together and have come to the conclusion that we will have to buy new beds. - When disconnecting the washing machine, they did not shut off the water-line first, so we had a small flood in the laundry room of our old house. They soon had it under control but when we returned back to the house the next day to retrieve a few more things, we noticed that the washing machine water spigot had still not been cut off, just cut down, and was actually still dripping into the house. - They scuffed up the freshly painted walls of our new house moving large furniture in. Chipped it in some places. Chipped our front door frame. - They had no plan/protocol for moving in the rain. I asked about over-the-shoe booties which they didn't have. Or taking their shoes off upon entering which they "couldn't do". They did spread big blue blankets down, that's a PRO. It was better than nothing. PROS - For being four hours late, they waived the initial moving fee and only charged for their hours. They also waived the washer/dryer disconnect/connect fee. - For ruining/damaging the toddler beds, they stopped the clock to put our other two twin beds together. - Chad was really nice. - They moved my digital baby grand piano and didn't charge me a "heavy lifting" fee. According to the movers it was light anyway, probably because it was digital. I would not use this company again, and I would not recommend this company to any of my friends or family. I understand that not everyday will be perfect and "things happen", but there was a lack of professionalism that I was really longing for, and I just didn't get it. read more

We moved from NC to CT. Worst move of my life. we hired them to pack too. Chad seemed so nice with his new tablet taking pics so he would get it right. HAH....The day of the move they didn't pack the truck properly and said we needed another truck and it would cost us $1500. more. So basically held us hostage. The trucks then got lost in the Bronx, NYC and hit a taxi. While I was waiting for them in CT. They ended up not calling me. 1am.... I had to call the owner Chad, who would not answer his cell, looked for another number on their web site and called that finally getting through, she saying they took a hotel and would show up the next day. UNloading I stood over them. Then they can't find the brackets for our refrigerator, I won't let them leave until they do. He's blaming guys that loaded. Then realizes it's in some box he packed. We hired movers to move my 80 year old grandmother from the house she's been in for over 50 years to a new condo across town. She was very concerned about protecting her furniture - and her memories - during the process. We could not be happier with our experience with Alhgren's Transport! The movers wrapped all of my grandmother's furniture and moved it thoughtfully. Throughout the process, they made my grandmother feel heard and they promised to take good care of her. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Chad, the owner, came to my house and specifically told my wife and I that everything we needed moved would fit on a 26 foot truck. I reached out to him a couple nights before our move and informed him of a couch we weren't sure of taking was coming and he said that's fine. The day of the move, the movers show up 45 minutes late and take 4 hours to load the goods in 2 trucks instead of the promised 26 foot truck. I asked the movers who showed up if everything would fit and again I was reassured it would fit by the movers. The 2 hour loading time (that I was told it would take) rolled in to 4 hours. After the movers loaded the trucks full, they acted like they didn't know what to do as a quarter of my stuff was still in the garage and needed to be moved that day. I try calling Chad and surprise no answer or call back. I had to have my inlaws load up their own personal vehicle and move our stuff for us after we were told constantly that our stuff would fit. To top it off the movers themselves told me Chad overpromise and underdelivers all the time to customers. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND SAVE YOUR MONEY! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

Over the past year I have had to downsize my parents living situation and then move them closer to me. This resulted in having to move furniture from High Point to Memphis, TN in the summer of 2015 and again in June 2016. Chad made both moves for me. I found Chad to be very easy to work with. The first move was fragile antiques. I had no time line for this move so Chad was told he could do it whenever he had time. He arranged a time for pick up (about a month out), picked up the items when he said he would, delivered the next day and there was not a scratch on anything. The next move was moving my parents belongings. Since it was a fairly large move, I got a couple of estimates. Chad came in 2.5K cheaper than the other estimates and where the other companies gave me a 10-18 day window for delivery, Chad promised next morning delivery. Again, items arrived when promised without a scratch. Chad was also willing to make a few side trips for me (like delivering some furniture to my son across town and delivering some items that had been sold to a friend) for very reasonable prices. We were moving to another city and needed our belongings moved from our apartment to a storage unit. I called Chad and he was very friendly and honest. I told him we had a two bedroom and I verbally listed what we had. In retrospect, he should have come out to take a look because the morning the two guys arrived, I took one look at the truck and realized it was likely too small. They had to go back to Greensboro to get a bigger truck and of course, it was an up charge. The guys who moved us were pretty good although one was much quicker and more careful than the other. I can't say whether anything was brown in the move as it's all still in storage but the furniture was all moved successfully. I contacted Ahlgrens seeking a mover at the last minute due to the originally scheduled mover bailed out on me. I spoke to Chad and he was very eager to work me in his schedule. I found Chad and his crew easy to speak with and hard working. To keep it brief, below is my evaluation: Customer service was a 10 Quality of move 5 On a final note, I want to give "kudos" to Chad. My flat screen tv was damaged in transit and when I brought that to Chad's attention he was quick to apologize and issue partial reimbursement. I was not impressed with how the leader of the team proceeded to flirt with my neighbors and even offered to help them move the furniture they were maneuvering into their apartment.
