Nothing like crawling through a great army nav y store. Yeah you might not need a helmet or mescito net but you find the greatest things you didn't know you wanted. I found at a great price a diesel camp stove with large burners, ok to each their own. Did get some coveralls for the trunk of the car if I need to keep clean working or side of the car read more

Do not buy from. they sell disgaurded junk. Paid way too much for helmet pads and they were poorly taken care of, and they took parts from it. Incomplete. Then when i called him out he preceded to act as if a veterans sole purpose is to bow to his privilege. read more

Never thought I'd review an Army-Navy store but we found this place while visiting Billings for a day and it had everything and more! Can't comment on the prices but they seriously had an amazing array of items! read more

I was pleasantly surprised the first time I shopped here. They have a real good supply of different things and most of all the people who work here are knowledgable and very friendly which I really appreciate. Coming from Southern California courtesy is something I seldom see or experience any more. I highly recommend shopping here, I seriously doubt that you will be disappointed in the choices and definitely will note disappointed in the staff. Awesome store with an awesome selection of actual surplus but their prices are completely out of touch with reality. Most, if not everything including the used stuff was at or above MSRP and none of it is difficult to find elsewhere. read more

Simply put a vast selection of extremely high quality brands and products as well as military surplus all at excellent prices with knowledgeable people to assist you in finding what you want. I am fortunate enough to live close and this store is superior to anything in town for price, selection, quality and service. Been a customer for years and will be for many more. read more

I moved here from the west coast and lived near an Army, Navy & Air Force base. This store was better than many stores in my previous area. Worth a visit. read more

WAY overpriced...buy on internet (or comparison shop) before you spend one cent in this place or go to the place in Idaho Falls. I believe they think they have no competition? The owner is quite nice but the employees are rude which still doesn't account for the INFLATED prices. read more

When I found a pair of cute shorts and asked to try them on she said she'd have to "measure me first." I politely declined, assuming it was an optional service, to which she further informed me, it was not. Then things got weird. Because the shorts were cute (and cheap), I begrudgingly let her measure my waist. To which she said "ohh, they're too small," and put them back on the rack (they were actually my size) When I said I'd like to try them anyway, she smugly told me I could purchase them, but I still wasn't allowed to try them on. It was hands down the weirdest, most invasive, and humiliating shopping experience I've had. And it explains why the store is bursting at the seams with clothing. I doubt anyone actually buys anything after being treated like that. If you enjoy unsolicited body commentary and being size-policed over $20 vintage shorts, this place is for you. Otherwise, run. And a tip for the owner: If you want to run a 'by fitting only' boutique, then run a proper by-appointment fitting room where you pull sizes for people instead of wasting their time and humiliating them. Vintage isn't supposed to come with a side of shame.

The employees are friendly and helpful. I was looking for a wedding dress last year for cosplay. Asked the west end and got some crank who informed me they are part of the Halloween stuff and refused to look (I was looking for outdated/can be stained). Asked the Heights front desk and they said let me look in back for you. I ended up getting one from the downtown store (Heights didn't have one) who also went in back to look.

Sometimes it's a matter of available space and sometimes it's how the space is used. Only a very few I've visited can organize space to make it feel more department store than a thrift shop. GIA is a huge store, for what it is, with nearly everything you'd find in a department store. Clothes, of course, and shoes, sorted by size. Children's clothes and toys, Christmas decorations, books, CDs, vinyl, DVDs, kitchen utensils, lamps, appliances, furniture, and miscellaneous. They've done a good job using items donated to delineate the areas and although there's only one separate room it feels like at least three. The prices are reasonable, and from time-to-time GIA will have a sale of sorts where you can fill your cart for a flat price. All the items I saw were in good condition, worn, but not trashy. Gratitude in Action uses the money from the store for their mission of support for recovery and sober living and giving people in recovery a chance to be independent.
