Mixed feelings. I tried package C. Really good facial, and massage. Nice place. Lots of pampering like hot tea and oranges. The manicure was not good. I asked for "round shape - if possible, my nails are short". She cut my nails completely off, and said she only heard "short as possible". What a mess. No nails for the holidays-but an honest mistake. The pedicure took almost 2 hours. She kept leaving, and forgot to put the slippers on, so I had to stay in the chair until my toes dried, and the woman doing the manicure had to do it while standing at the chair, No one seemed to know about the facial. I waited a long time in reception to pay, as no one was around. I almost gave up on the facial. But I stayed, and it was excellent. I went there yesterday with one of my friend. the place is very clean and new. the staff were friendly. however, one of the girl named Anna or Any was dishonest after setting me in a room and confirmed booking with her; she sent me another lady saying that she wasnot free!!! it was kinda of weird honestly and the only hot tube they had was cold but they didn't charge me for using it after i told them the water wasnot hot. This place should come with a huge disclaimer- despite what they say, if you're paying for an rmt massage, it's not actually with an rmt. So if you're someone who's paying for this out of pocket, just book a regular massage. Now why I still gave this spa a 4 star? It's because I'm not someone with serious knots in my back who requires a rmt. And if your company is paying for it, who really cares? And I gave it a 4 because their facials, foot massages, and pedicure services are incredible. But (and this is a huge but), if you're someone with nasty knots in your back and you need quality rmt services, be very specific and ask them for the masseuse's name and rmt certification before walking in. If I could give this place a "-10", I would!!! By far the WORST spa I've ever been to. I booked a couples package a week in advance, which included 3 services per person. I was advised that they would only be able to do one service when we got there, as they were really busy. I even called earlier in the day to make sure that the appointments were ok, but front desk failed to even mention anything about not being able to take us for our full appointments. Zero professionalism at the front desk. Cashing out was a nightmare as the ladies has NO IDEA how to use way spa gift certificates. I walked out more stressed and upset than before the spa. I have been here on numerous occasions for foot reflexology. Ken is THE. BEST. He always provides great service! However, I went to the spa on January 31, 2015 for a facial and pedicure. Throughout the entire appointment the spa was unorganized. The pedicure was mediocre at best. For $5 more than a traditional nail salon, I expected an above average pedicure. However, I received a below average pedicure. The nail technician barely spent time shaping my nails and she did a half-ass job pushing and trimming my cuticles. My feet were in desperate need of a pedicure, so her service left me feeling underwhelmed. My facial was good - blackheads cleared, eyebrows in line, and everything you expect from a facial. However, the service I received DURING the facial was rough and unorganized. The lady was running in and out of the room, halfway through my facial I got a DIFFERENT person doing the treatment and she was very rough with the treatment of my face. Overall, my facial/pedi experience was a 3/10 and I will not return for these services. I love the day time manager Helen, as she is always helpful and kind. However, going to the spa in the evening is a completely different experience. I will not be returning unless I need a foot massage. read more

My daughter and I both had gel manicures done at Aroma Day Spa. After 8 days, the gel on one of my daughters nails came off completely and both my thumb nails started to chip and peel off. I called Aroma Day Spa to see what could be done to repair the nails since it had only been 8 days. I was told that their new rule was any repairs after one week they would have to charge me for?? A gel manicure should normally last at least two weeks, I've had some last longer up to three weeks. We both take very good care of our manicures and are aware of all the proper care techniques. This was clearly poor workmanship and even worse after care service. We are regular customers at this nail salon and am very disappointed in their poor after sales customer service, especially when you're paying $50.00 x 2 (plus generous tips) for gel manicures that only lasted 8 days! I should also mention that we were the first customers when they opened on a Saturday morning. Not long after we came in, another regular customer came in to get her nails done. She was very unhappy with her manicure and asked them to redo it as it was a mess! Do yourself a favour and don't waste your $$ at Aroma Day Spa. Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! The facility is clean and bright, pleasant to be in. The staff and their material are just as good and friendly to engage. They served tea when waiting in lobby and room was relaxing. Price is very reasonable compared for the amazing work they do. Very convenient as well via transit and driving. I was so happy with my BioGel manicure and pedicure which have lasted chip-free for at least two weeks. They were beautiful, the manicurist took her time and was very patient in helping me choose a colour to match my pedicure. Highly recommend. Worth the expense. Background: Looking for a local place to do a quick mani-pedi. Facilities: Great decor and ambiance. Washrooms are clean. Private lot parking in the plaza. Quality and Price: $50 for a mani-pedi (+$5 for French for your hands/feet) not including tax. For the price, I'd say the work was okay. I pay $45 all in at a place in North York for mani-pedis and they do a better and more careful job than Discovery. Although, Discovery has a short turn around time (Just over an hour for a mani-pedi). Service: Judy was friendly. She made some small talk and worked on feet first, then hands. I wouldn't say anything went beyond the call of duty, but it was satisfactory. Overall: Alright if you're looking for a place nearby that works fast. A few friends and I came here for a massage at around 10pm after a music festival. I was very surprised to know that this place closes at 12am! It was my first massage so unfortunately I can't compare it to any other experiences but I can say that the place was quite nice. The spa is spacious, ceilings are high, relaxing music, dim lighting and overall it is very clean. I would think that this spa is new. We got the 15 minute foot massage followed by the full body massage. Both of my massages were slightly painful (like a pinching type of pain) and we could all tell that the staff were getting impatient. One of them openly said that they wanted to go home. My friends said they had good massages though so maybe it was just my lady. I got to do the full body massage with my boyfriend so that was nice. Despite the place being spacious and beautiful, I did not have a relaxing time at this spa. Service was poor as there was a lack of communication. They seemed to laugh or outright ignore any suggestions or pleas made. There was no effort made to learn my massage preferences and when my nails were done, they vaguely pointed me towards the drying area. Did they expect me to turn on the dryers with my wet, polish-caked fingers? In fact, that's what I had to do, ruining my nails in the process. More like a 0. The 1 star is a placeholder. Called in on a Sunday afternoon looking to get a couples massage and a manicure for myself done on the same day (if they were available). Was told to come in "at any time" so I figured they weren't very busy and could accommodate us. Having been there once before, I kind of knew what to expect. My first visit a few months back was enjoyable overall. I like the interior - spacious and clean. They have great operating hours which is a huge plus. Although I felt my masseuse was rather inexperienced and didn't really know what she was doing, I still felt nice and pampered after. A drink is usually served at the start while you wait. Once they're ready, a pair of slippers will be brought to you along with a robe. Someone leads you to the change room and shows you to a locker as well as the shower. Then you wait in your assigned room to begin your massage. My most recent visit was the complete opposite and a total disaster. We walked in and the front desk staff was occupied with another customer. No biggie, we took a seat and waited. When they were available, we checked in, confirming our appointment and about 10 minutes later, one of the male staff led us to our room. Turned around, he's gone. No instructions, slippers, robes, nothing. We go back to the front desk to ask for some robes and we're quickly handed them as he rushes off to go elsewhere. We then try to hunt him down as he's walking in the hallway to ask if we have enough time to shower and if it was possible to put our stuff in a locker. He briefly pauses to speak to us and says the lockers are under the bed and continues on his way. Lockers under the bed? First of all, why would anyone put it under the bed? And secondly, it wasn't even there! SO AGAIN, we seek for assistance and he tells us there are lockers in the women's change room (waving his hand indicating that it's on the other side without actually taking me). Fine. I go into the locker room to quickly take a shower. Realized I still don't have slippers so I put my sneakers back on. Tried to put my stuff in one of the lockers on the top shelf and as I opened one to see if it was empty, the ENTIRE door came off. These aren't small, light lockers but rather large, wooden cabinets. Got a slight bump on the head and small scrape on the hand from trying to catch the door from falling on me. Completely and utterly unacceptable. It doesn't take a genius to figure out all the things that were wrong about this situation. I was already aggravated with the service up to this point and this was the final straw. I voiced my complaint to the lady at the front from the service to the locker door. I even led her into the change room to show her what happened because it didn't seem like she was really registering what I was saying. She apologized with a half smile and then went on to assist other customers, expecting me to just quietly go back to my massage room and carry on. I got changed and walked right out. Safety issue aside, people come to a spa to relax and to be pampered not to BEG to be pampered. They are being paid to provide a service. Why do I have to constantly pester you for the bare necessities that you should be providing on your own? I held them to a VERY basic standard in which they could not even meet. If they were busy, they should've scheduled me another day or told me to come at a later time. They were greedy and tried to take on more than they could handle. I was looking for a nice place to get a massage to start off the new year and landed on Discovery Day Spa, which was not too far from my house. After looking at their website and reading some reviews, I called them to make an appointment for a 60 minute RMT massage priced at $85 (including taxes). I walked into the Spa and was instantly greeted and offered a beverage. They had water, tea and juice to offer and I went with a mango juice. The spa was pretty busy for a Friday afternoon and everyone whom worked there had a smile on their face and was really welcoming. After I received my beverage, I was then told to be seated to fill out a health history form and moments later, I was walked into their treatment room. I was a little disappointed because I did not get a locker to put all my personal belongings in and I was not offered a robe to change into. After walking into the treatment room, the lady told me to strip down to my undergarments and lie facing down on the bed and my masseuse, Kristin, will be with me shortly. I had to wait a couple minutes until Kristin came into the treatment room and introduced herself and asked for my name. She began the massage and she asked how the pressure was and I told her I could do with a little lighter pressure. She then proceeded with the massage and even took the time to grab some hot towels to wipe me down and also gave me scalp massage, which was a nice touch to the overall massage. I've had numerous massages and have only encountered a couple of masseuses that I would continue visiting on a regular basis. Kristin's technique was really good but her pressure is a little on the deeper side and some areas that she was massaging were a bit painful for me. She was very interactive and friendly which I really liked. Nonetheless, a good massage and I feel much better. Once I finished my massage, I visited the ladies' room to fix myself up. The ladies' room was nice and clean with a nice steam shower that was separate to give more privacy which was a nice touch. Okay, I have not reviewed for quite a while now. Discovery Day Spa deserves the honour of having the best review for being the best Day Spa for the working people. Quick and dirty version is this: Affordable, knowledgeable, and damn good one-hour massage from "Cookie". Please pardon my language but all I can say on my way home is "OH MY GO..SHH, I feel so efffffff-specially good right now. Why should you take my review to heart? I have seen a mediocre, okay, good, and better massage therapist. "Cookie" is right at the top for me, now, right on par with my regular massage therapist. I cannot cheat on her because she is good too. "Cookie" is so knowledgeable about the body, knots, the circulation, and knew the pressure spots on the full body. Cookie imparted the traditional Chinese health knowledge about the body pains I have been feeling. I did not expect to have an incredible experience, as I was just looking to waste an hour waiting for my other half. Wow! So good! I am so thankful from the minute she greeted me to the very last second when she cracked my neck. I LOVE IT, I LOVE HER. I sound like a stalker; that's how amazing the massage was from Cookie at Discovery Day Spa. As in, I "feel" so good from head to toe!!!!!! After a long exhausting day of walking in the humid heat outdoors at the Canadian National Exhibition, my friend had suggested we would drop by Discovery for a body massage as she had heard decent reviews about it. And so, I agreed to it since my body desperately needed one that day. Upon entrance, we were immediately greeted by the manager as he guided us to a VIP room. As we walked through the halls, I quickly took a quick glance at my surroundings and was pretty impressed with the newly renovated rooms and how spacious the Spa appeared to be. I give them props for putting a lot of thought into making their clients feel "relaxed" with their nature forest themed interior designs. Once we entered our massage room, I asked if I could take a quick shower since I needed to rinse off the sweat off my body. The gentlemen said yes and showed me where the shower room was and where the towels were stored but left the room without asking if I needed anything else. Once I got into the shower to reach for the body wash infront of me, I noticed the bottle was empty, and so I went to reach for the shampoo bottle to find out that it was also empty. With my eyes all soapy, I felt two more bottles on my left hand side and was finally able to squirt something out of it. After I got out, I realized there was no slippers left for me either, but luckily I had my own flip flops nearby. In order to make their clients feel more like home, I think the staff there should be more considerate of their customer's needs such as ensuring that the rooms are set up correctly with the right necessities and supplies after the transition of services from one client to the next. (Ex: Empty bottles should be thrown away and not left there in the shower for the next client, slippers should be offered and not asked for) RELAXATION FULL BODY MASSAGE: [45 minutes for $50] Shortly after I got dressed, a lady came in with complimentary tea and fruits (grapes) which I thought was really nice before I started the massage service. The lady then asked me to remove my clothes and to lie down with my back facing upwards (underwear can be left on) I felt a bit exposed even though there was a thin layer of bed sheet left on top of me. Maybe they could provide some sort of uniform to wear I thought as not everyone is comfortable to just lay down naked infront of a stranger. But anyways, I slowly zoned out with the dim lights and serene music playing in the background. The lady then came in quietly after she knocked on the door for permission to come in but didn't bother to introduce herself to me. She did however mentioned that I could inform her whenever I needed slight adjustments to her level of strength but didn't ask if I had any injuries (areas to be avoided) or specific parts where I would like her to focus on/ put more time into massaging. Which I think that it would be important to ask. Other than that, overall the massage itself was quite relaxing. Her massage skills were consistent as she used a variety of techniques with the appropriate pressure added to soften up my tissues where needed such as places with the most tension in my shoulders, back and neck. She was also pretty gentle when she had to move/shift my body parts over where she wanted it to be. After working on my back, she gave me a front body massage as well ending with a head massage and thanked me when the 45 minute service was up. Overall I had a pleasant massage experience and would return again in the future. I think the staff just needs to be trained a little more in being more attentive to their client's needs by showing that they really care for their comfort and health by being more observant and asking appropriate questions to understand who they really are. (Communication is key) If they can make their clients feel well cared for, then clients will feel appreciated for being there. For me, I think they just need to improve slightly on their customer service. But other than that, their massage techniques are decent and price is reasonable for what you're getting out of it. I didn't know what to expect because I'm not usually the type to get a facial, but in the end it was satisfying but the most unsatisfying part was where they remove my blackhead and pimples but it's normal to feel pain during that process. Was visiting my sister last weekend and she greeted me at the front door with a mail flyer in hand - "spa day anyone?" Needless to say there was no arm twisting required and we booked a Saturday appointment. Upon arriving we were both very taken back by the scale and sheer beauty of the place - very tall ceilings, bamboo wood on walls and ceiling all work together to give off a very relaxed feel. We were greeted and shown to our own private room and offered beverages. Our room was spacious and had a pair of reclining chairs and two massage beds along with a shower in the corner. They also had a network of metal bars above the beds, I assume for masseuse to hold for backwalking if you are up for it. Our package began with a 15 minute herbal foot soak followed by a 45 minute foot massage. It was great to catch up with my sister over hot chinese tea and start the relaxation process. Our foot massages were fantastic - there were a few ticklish moments on my part - but top notch over all. My masseuse Angela was very attentive and kept checking to see whether the pressure was okay with me. It was interesting because she found a sore spot on my left foot and asked me if I have trouble sleeping. She was exactly right. Only problem was her English wasn't too great and I don't speak Chinese. Its too bad because had I understood her better I think I could have had benefits of foot reflexology more than just foot massage. The full body massage that followed was wonderful. Best part - being able to chat with my sister the whole time. Second best part- the thorough hot towel scrub that concluded the 45 minute massage, it really melted away any remaining stress. At this stage it had been 2 hours and I was thinking it was time to go when we were ushered into the nail salon area for our pedicure and foot paraffin. My esthetician's name was Jenny and I was happy with her service. She was helpful with my color choice and did a great job of massaging my calves and scrubbing the dead skin away from the bottom of my feet prior to the parrafin wax. The total for the three hour package was only $99 each plus HST. With all that massage and extras I would have to agree that it worked out to be pretty cheap. I left generous tips to the staff for a job well done. I will definitely return when in town. I would recommend anyone doing packages to come with a friend because the only negative I experienced at the spa was a bit of a language barrier with the staff. Made an appointment for three people for one of their spa packages, about a week in advance. I asked specifically whether they would be able to accommodate all three of us at the same time and in the same room, and the lady taking my reservation assured me that there would be no problem accommodating us. Fast forward to the day of the appointment: we arrived about 5-10 minutes early at what we assumed was the spa - there was no sign outside with the actual name of the spa, so we weren't entirely sure we were in the right place. There was a sign inside though, and the inside looked clean enough and the decor was nice enough, but when we got to the counter to check in, they seemed very disorganized. They found our appointment, but we stood at the counter for some time before one of the staff told us to take a seat because there was some sort of problem. The same staff member offered us something to drink (juice, tea, water), which was a nice touch, but there was something wanting in their attitude and overall professionalism. We then waited almost half an hour past our scheduled appointment time, only to have them finally tell us that they could not accommodate us as we agreed, and that one of us would basically have to be separate from the other two for the entire day because only two technicians were available. This was definitely NOT the point of planning a spa day with three people. They even went as far as to blame the other customers (who had an appointment before us) for coming in late, instead of taking responsibility for the supposed double booking and figuring out a solution. I can't speak as to the quality of the actual massage or nail care as we had left the spa at that point. It wasn't until about 5-10 minutes after we had left that they called me, trying to offer a discount for us to come back a different day. However, we had booked on this particular day and at that particular time because it was the only slot that would work for our schedules. Besides, we had an appointment the first time, and it wasn't honoured, nor did they seem organized enough to handle bookings in general, so I highly doubt the second experience will be any better. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. For the price you're paying, I'm sure there are plenty of other places that will be more attentive, more professional, and much less stressful than this place, which, after all, is what a spa is for. read more

Quality The masseuse here are not RMT's but they do issue RMT's for your insurance company. The new receptionist does not know how it works and does not understand English well. They mainly speak Mandarin and some Cantonese. If they cannot understand (read/write) English, how are they supposed to get the RMT certificate?! Service I called their 289-number for a same-day appointment with masseuse Jessica within an hour they opened. I arrived on time and was told the masseuse was not available. It is very frustrating as this has often happened to me, asking to wait 30-mins for the booked masseuse. I do not appreciate waiting and most likely won't see her until 1-hour so I decided to switch and ask for someone that was available. Bad mistake as she was inexperienced and was obviously not RMT. She may have followed the techniques but did not know how to make adjustments to my needs. I told her specific areas but she did not understand English, she just said, "okay" and laughed like a delinquent, and did not reduce the pain until I literally pulled away from her. Also, the last-minute masseuse cheated me on the 1-hour time. By the time I got into the room and changed, it was 20-mins past my original appointment. She cheated me by 15-mins. I should have complained but quite honestly, I could not wait to get out of there bc the fake RMT masseuse who did not understand a word of English, was horrible. She ended up causing me pain in the ankle. My doctor (yes, it was that severe and I had to miss work) said I had a sprained ankle and gave me pain medication to reduce the inflammation. They need to be more organized for appointments. Whoever answered the phone did not write it in the appointment book and so when I showed up, they did not have any record of it! They were completely clueless. Overall I like the atmosphere and cleanliness of this spa but the customer service (e.g. fake RMT masseuse, lack of AC, waiting for the specific person when told she was available) is the reason why I am less likely to return. They offer Vicinity but because the new receptionist (there used to be a male "gay" receptionist and an older lady, I am not sure if they are still there) does not know English, you have to remind them that you'd need the points. Most often, I forget to ask them to add the points because of the RMT forms is too complicated for her. They can't even write simple alphabet characters as they spelled my name wrong twice (for the record, my name is a popular English name like JLaw and JLo) so I wrote it in for them. Overall, I will not be returning to this "spa" so if anyone know ones within the area that are legitimate RMT trained, please feel free to contact me. =) I would honestly not recommend this place anymore because it is unprofessional from so-called confirmed booking appointments (over the phone), dishonoured booked masseuse, fake RMT receipts, and etc. Note-worthy I am not sure but last time I was there (winter 2016) I saw a LOT of Caucasian men going into this spa. They looked like construction workers and were very "loud" during their appointments. This is a very sad review to write as I have never had any issues with this spa before. I've recommended this spa to every single person I know because I loved it that much. Today however I walked in and was greeted rudely by the gentlemen behind the counter. No proper customer service, his attitude was not the greatest thing to be greeted by. Fair enough I usually let these things go. The lady did our colour change for our toes and was not the friendliest most welcoming person there, considering most of the staff has always dealt with us diligently. She did our polish and did a great job I was happy with it and she told us to go dry our feet and we never saw her again, she didn't come back to check on us, or ask us if we were okay, or even tell us when we were ready to go. my friend and I literally had to check our toes ourselves and walk out because we knew she would not be coming back. We walk to front reception to pay and the gentlemen told us our price, I mentioned that yelp offered 10% off if we mentioned it and he looked so unamused and annoyed. He began to huff and puff and then called the manager or owner on the phone to ask if that was okay to give it to us. He then proceeded to give us more attitude and when we paid he did not say goodbye, thank you, or any proper normal customer service etiquette and we were on our way. I will place a disclaimer and state that this spa usual has excellent customer service and when the owners of the spa are there everything is run perfectly, but when management is not present it goes from a 5 star spa to a 1.5 star. I hope you take this as constructive criticism and further train your staff how to treat their customers in a way in which they would be happy to leave and even happier to come back. read more

it's hard to give this place a great rating when I inflicted so much pain on myself by coming here for a facial, but objectively I think 4 stars is well deserved. much more spacious and professional than I had expected, to be honest, just from quick glances while passing by on McCowan Rd. my appointment started on time and I was promptly taken to one of the back single rooms. calm music and dim lighting set the mood real quick for my ADVANCED FACIAL. the lady swiftly started the cleansing process while steaming my face. a quick neck massage and chemical peel and into the tortur-- I mean, extraction phase we went. now, I had received my fair share of warnings from my friends who have experienced the "asian facial", but I was convinced that my friends were pansies. pain schmain, I pick at my face all the time. I can handle it. she used a combination of pinching and scraping. I quickly learned that when it's not your own face, you don't stop until you get the goods. there was only so much bed to sink into, so all I had was deep breathing and concentration on their measly attempt at calming music. I made a mental note to let her know that the neck massage was all for naught, and really should come after the extraction. after going HAM for a solid 20 minutes, she noticed how much I was wincing and heavily breathing and apologized, "but look how much I got!!" and proceeded to show me the mined goods. ok, evidence of progress, this is worthwhile! I wasn't pleased to realize that wasn't the end of it but soon(ish) followed with some sort of light treatment to eliminate bacteria, a face massage, neck and head massage, and a double face mask with cooling sensation to calm the skin for maybe 20 minutes. 75 minutes overall and I walked out not knowing why I was spending my money in such ways but the next day did indeed see improvements in my skin texture. small bruising was expected but surprisingly no inflammation. more than willing to come back to try the massage that's for sure. read more

Just finished up one of their packages for $99. Some of the services I received were a facial, massage, and mani/pedi! Wowwwwww they're amazing here! I truly felt taken care of. Excellent location, perfect for a relaxation day with friends/family or alone. Friendly staff, beautiful and relaxing decor. Price for packages are reasonable. I went with my bf and they were able to accommodate the both of us. The place look very clean and was spacious, served us with juice and tea. We both got packages and it was on promotion for 99$. The service lasted 3hrs long so we were both satisfied and feeling very relax. Would def recommend this place and would look forward going back again! read more

Finally got to try out this place. I love deep tissue massages and Sam definitely delivered! It has made me realize that I can have a relaxing and therapeutic massage while also loosening my knots. I've started working full time recently so since then I was very exhausted, and so I decided to go on a day spa with my friend. We read reviews online to see if Discovery Day Spa was a good place to go, and since most of the reviews were relatively good we decided to go there. Initially, I really liked it. The service provided by the staff was good and they were really nice to us. We signed up for Package A where we'd get the pedicure, foot scrub, reflexology, back scrub and back massage too. When I went in to the massage room, the masseuse was really nice and kind to me, and to be honest she was super good at what she does. Her name is Tina, and she was very kind to me. However, before she began she asked me if the package for massage was 45min back massage and 15min scrub after, or if it was included in the 45min back massage (so 30min massage + 15min back scrub). I was pretty confused about why they would ask me because I was obviously the customer, and they should know the package better than me. I said that I wasn't sure, but Tina said she'd asked the other staff and they said to ask me because I'd know. I remember seeing the pamphlet outside briefly and it seemed to write "45min back massage + 15min back scrub", so I said I think it's 1h total, since that's how it was written. Either way, she didn't check with the staff again and just proceeded with what I said. Near the end of my massage, the lady boss/manager knocked hastily on the door of my massage room and starts talking angrily to my masseuse, asking why we're taking so long. Naturally, I was agitated because she interrupted my session, and they acted as though I wasn't there, body still bare and trying to enjoy my back scrub. They then started fussing over how I was the one who said it was 1h in total, and my masseuse actually pushed all the blame to me. At this point, I was pretty agitated and said nothing. Eventually, when the boss/manager left, my masseuse started saying how the boss is more strict and just asked me to pay extra so we could solve this peacefully, and even went out to tell her that I'd pay extra without my proper consent. I was really upset by this, mainly because it wasn't my fault at all since I feel like the staff should know the package better than me. I was simply stating what I thought was what was encompassed in the package. (They didn't give me a run through/briefing in the beginning before my package began either, so it's not like they had told me beforehand.). Also, the masseuse thought she could just let the boss know I was willing to pay more (when I wasn't) without my full consent. When I went out, I was ready to explain to the boss/manager our situation properly, but by then she was pretty irritated too and said that I'd have to pay more since I'd overstayed a mere 15min. She didn't even ATTEMPT to understand my situation. I got really upset, especially when at the same time the masseuse was constantly saying that I'd ASKED for an extra 15min, and that I was willing to pay more. I had an argument with the boss/manager, because clearly it isn't my fault if their staff was unsure about what the package includes. Furthermore, I believe it isn't the customer's responsibility if it was an under-briefed staff that had executed the package wrongly. She should have checked with the other staff if she wasn't sure what to do (and NOT ask a customer). The lady boss asked if we could "give in" to each other and asked me to pay an extra $5. I was really upset, not because $5 is a large sum, but because I really didn't feel like I should have compensated for anything. Furthermore, it was not like I had caused a major inconvenience as there were no other customers waiting outside. (And even if there was, I still don't think it's my fault.) Finally, she let it go and said I didn't have to pay anything and apologised when I told her that this situation was absolutely ridiculous. I'm not one to write reviews (I literally signed up for yelp just to write this), but this experience left me really unhappy and upset after what was supposed to be a day of relaxation. I was even planning to buy an extra package for my mother as a gift since her birthday was coming up, but after that happened I just left because it left me very angry. I overheard the lady boss/manager saying she wanted to fire Tina right before I left, which I felt was really unfair to me because it seemed like she wanted to make me feel guilty. Since Tina seemed misinformed, I felt like she was treated unfairly too. I hope you improve on the quality of your managers or whoever she was, because not only was she petty about the entire situation, but she was incredibly disrespectful and rude too. I really didn't like her making a scene while I was in the midst of an actual session, or not even trying to understand my situation properly. I'd hope that Discovery Day Spa will look into this, and to all other potential customers out there, I hope this review helps. read more

Went there for their spa package (foot soak, 45 min foot massage and 45 min body massage). I had Grace who was great - she was pleasant and attentive. I felt great afterwards and didn't feel rushed. Overall, the spa itself wasn't bad at all. It was clean and nicely decorated and the front desk staff was friendly. I'd say for the price of the package, it was a good experience and I'll definitely be going back. read more

I have been debating if I should write this post or not, but think it is in everyone's best interest if I do. I really like the spa, as it is beautiful and very convenient however I have concerns over hygiene. I went here the other day for a manicure and pedicure package. I was suspect of the tools they were using as when I sat down they were cleaning them with tissue with alcohol on it. I asked if they were new, clean tools and was assured they were so proceeded no problem. When you sit at the drying stations you can clearly see into the nail area through the glass. Low and behold I watch the nail technician take the tools just used on me and again use tissue to wipe them down they were then put at the station for the next use. What was even worse was I saw them take the manicure bowls you soak your hands in, dump the old water into the pedicure tub and put them back into drawer for usage. I think this spa has great potential, but not cleaning nail tools between customers is not only unhygienic but also unsafe. read more
