We hired this company last minute & initially it was a good experience . Joshua and his crew were polite. It did take 6 hours and $998 to load a 2 bedroom house with almost no furniture . We did have some heavy pieces . My friends cautioned how the truck was packed and that they were afraid things would be broken on our long distance move but we trusted his expertise. Unfortunately our TV's (70 inch and 65 )!we're broken . All my glass lamps were broKen . An expensive hand blown glass piece, a very expensive full length mirror, very expensive machine parts . They had taken a heavy buffet table and packed it on its side instead of its legs and it fell on everything . The mirror was packed with crates of olive oil on the bottom so when it moved forward the whole bottom cracked . The biggest issue was talking to this guy afterward . Joshua the owner. We explained what happened and he gave no resolution but just became very defensive &'said he couldn't be responsible for how we drove the truck and he's been doing this for years & basically to F off. We asked if he had insurance & really just wanted some type of compensation or an apology for the probable 10 grand in damages - he was just so rude it was unreal . The movers that unloaded us said they had never seen a worse packing job - BEWARE if you have any problems he will not help in any way. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but these guys definitely earned the credit they deserve. I was tasked with hiring a moving company on behalf of my grandmother who recently sold her home. I interviewed and received quotes from many of the big box moving companies like Two Men and a Truck, Uhall, Dedicated Van Lines, and R&W Movers. I was very disappointed with their customer service and communication. R&W movers even came to the house to give a detailed quote and then completely ghosted me when I asked for a quote in writing. At this point I was stressed because I was 4 days out from the move and I had no moving company locked in. I finally came across Around The Bend Professional Movers and I was truly impressed with their customer service and professionalism. I worked directly with Joshua who was the owner, and he went out of his way to address my questions and concerns. We had quite a difficult move being so last minute and Joshua and his team went out of his way to make it as stress free as possible. When the team arrived they got right to work and took the time to wrap each and every piece of furniture before they put it in the truck. We even asked them if it would be too much to remove a heavy wood mantle from the wall that we wanted to keep and they did so no problem. They worked right through lunch and filled a 26ft truck within a few hours. When the house was finally all packed up, they drove to our new location and took the time to put all the furniture where we wanted. They even took the time to put all the bed frames together in each of the bedrooms. Finally, we asked them if they could drive some furniture to our storage facility and they did so no problem. All the other companies wanted a separate contract to do all that and it was such a pain. If you're looking for a moving company in Indiana I could not recommend these guys more. Could not be happier. My mom was in a bind and needed help moving her stuff from one apartment to another. This was completely last minute and Around the Bend Came through the very next day. We did not have a good overall experience with this company. First of all, when I spoke with the owners wife on the phone she said she liked to give an overestimated quote rather than underestimate so there aren't surprises. She explained that it usually takes three guys 3 hours to load a truck and about half that time to unload. Our job was over 8 hours. When they arrived at the house they got their truck stuck in our yard. The yard was in perfectly good condition that they shouldn't have been stuck and the owner seemed upset that the guys would have even attempted to drive through the yard as that must not be common practice. We brought out rugs, 2x4 boards and shovels to try to help them get their truck moving as well as got our truck out to try to help push them loose. In doing so, our truck was damaged by their truck ( headlight smashed in and bumper was cracked). The owner ended up having to come out to help his guys get the truck out so they could start working. When I spoke to him he said he would help with the damage to our truck and wouldn't charge us for the two hours his guys were stuck and not moving our things. After that the guys seemed to move slow. I walked in on a conversation where two of the guys were upset and thought it wasn't fair and they should still be paid for those two hours while they were stuck. It occurred to me that they might be moving at a slower pace to try to recoup their lost wages at my expense. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and offered to buy them lunch after all their work. I met them at our new house with lunch where they took an hour break. Unfortunately some of our furniture was partially damaged and a piece they took apart to move was not put back together at the new house. Several boxes never made it to their appropriate rooms as well. When I spoke to the owner after the move was complete and he wanted to collect payment, we discussed again that I wouldn't be responsible to pay for the two hours their truck was stuck. I also said I shouldn't have to pay for their hour lunch. He told me they get a half hour lunch that I wouldn't pay for. He didn't seem to want to believe me that they took an hour and talked in circles and kept saying he was taking 2.5 hours total off the time (2 hours for being stuck and .5 for lunch). I asked how he was going to help with the truck damage and he said I should get an estimate for the damage and "if it was really bad we could discuss it". He knew I wasn't happy with the outcome of the job but he told me that he still had to pay his guys for the two hours they were stuck. That's the price of owning a business. Sometimes you have to eat costs. At the end of the day, there are STILL 4 large holes in our yard where they spun their tires trying to get their truck out. The rugs, boards and shovels were also left laying around the yard and our truck is still ruined. I can't believe they would have taken charges off the bill to correct these issues or at the very least come back out to fix the yard themselves. That is terrible business. The owner seemed more concerned with his own costs and concerns than those of the customer. Our in-laws were planning to use this company for their upcoming move but they were around helping us during this experience and they decided to use another company as this experience was not a good one. I don't blame them and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. There are several comparable priced companies out there - I would choose one of those instead. Also, I left a review on this company website as well that I have yet to see show up. I believe they only allow the 5 star reviews so how is that helpful if you can't see the truth? read more

Showed up exactly when we discussed and got right to work! I will never use friends to move again, these guys know their stuff! The stairs to our new house are narrow, and they managed to get everything we needed up without scuffing or marking the new paint. It was such a stress reliever seeing that everything was going to be moved with no damage. We got quotes from 3 other companies and Around the Bend was the most reasonable by far, with non of the issues I've read about the other companies having. I cannot say enough great things about this company. My family and I were in quite the situation and had to move and did not know what we were going to do about moving our stuff. We were on a very tight budget. We received a referral to use Josh and his team, but we had never used a moving company before. We have always done it ourselves, to be honest we thought that only well-off or wealthy people used moving companies. I soon found out how wrong I was. Around the Bend Professional Movers were not only affordable but they worked around my schedule so that I did not miss any time at work. I basically just needed to let them into our storage unit, and they took over from there. I didn't even have to be there. Josh was kind enough to work a little later to meet me after work and then allowed me to head home to start dinner to feed my kids while he and his team handled moving everything. They were courteous, professional, and careful. Even though our items don't amount to a lot in monetary value, it is all we had, and it all means the world to us. Josh and his team moved our belongings with the upmost care as if our items were priceless. I am hoping to never have to move again lol but if for some reason we do, I will absolutely be calling this company to handle the job. Had a relatively simple move between apartments within one complex. No truck load/unload, but lots of moving stuff up and down stairs. Movers were punctual and professional. They were effective at moving everything I needed them to move without damaging the items or the walls. They got the job done without running up the clock (they bill hourly like other movers). They had the straps, dollies, and blankets they needed to do the move. A smaller-scale, local company with a hands-on owner who clearly cares about his movers and the value of family. Marginally cheaper than quotes I got from other moving companies. Company could accommodate my Sunday move (some other companies in the area do not move on Sundays or weekends). I'd be happy to hire this company again or recommend it to friends. read more

These guys were horrible. They work by the hour and are very slow. I finally started hauling some of my stuff out to the truck in the hopes of getting the job done faster. After they left ahead of me to the other house, I walked back through the house and discovered they had left a tool box, drill and box of drill bits in my bedroom along with the box and tubing that goes to my Sleep Number Bed. They had also left the laundry room door off the hinges. I hauled there their tools and my bed parts to the house I'm moved to. I placed the box and tubing in the bedroom by the rest of the bed. Be sure and look at the picture. The box had not been attached and the box is missing from the house. The owner indicated they knew how to set up a Sleep Number Bed. When I called the owner he asked why I didn't plug it up. Well, I thought I was paying a professional to take care of this and there is more than just plugging up the box. Without the missing box, I now have to buy a new mattress when I had a fantastic mattress that would have lasted me a number of years still. The owner had also left a dolly at my house and he said he would go back and get the dolly and put my laundry room door back on. He couldn't even do that right! The bottom pin was sticking up 3-4" and could not be pushed down because it was not lined up right. Later that night I went into the basement and discovered some items that they had not moved and they also left shovels, racks, etc in a closet in the gargage that I had asked them move. I tried talking to the owner and told him if he would make things right and I would not write a bad review. Did he do that? Nope, he just proceeded to tell me I was a nasty person and tried turning everything around on me. I paid that man 1087.00 AND gave him a new carpet shampooer that I had only used once. read more
