Just moved back to the area from Miami and I am very impressed with the changes. Raised at the Jersey shore this was and always will be one of my original and favorite stomping grounds. My friend said it's under new ownership and this is their third year. Walked in and there was a band playing. Hump Day Trio. Amazing jam band that's apparently here every Sunday. The bathrooms were re done so for those who know that stupid door is finally fixed. I'm pretty sure they even re did the paint on the walls. Bartenders were sweethearts. Good energy through and through. The owner even bought me and my girl DJ Licious a round of shots some amazing tequila lime concoction. So happy I didn't go to bed after family Easter . This place is disgusting!!!!! Cash only which is annoying. Very interesting crowd, seems to be a drunk/rowdy crowd. Bartender was flashing her tits. And there was an older man who appeared to be the manager or owner who was also drunk/angry/aggressive towards female bartenders and customers. Definitely would not come back. Stay away! read more

If you like a place that leaves you to drinking, shooting pool and being you then this is it. Like most dives it's truly one of the last of it's kind. The people usually stick to their spot and do most of their drinking peacefully. Having stopped in and out for that last 25 yrs I can tell you that it's chilled out a lot. Now it isn't everyone's taste but even those fuckers can grab a beer without harassment. I know a lot of people who have convinced themselves they're changed now (normal I think they call themselves) drive past with a grin and head to TGIF or Chili's but they know just how much more fun it is to get warm in a place without all that pretentious bullshit. If you want to have a good time stop in, step up to the bar and make up your own mind. If you go in thinking your shit don't stink your going to have a shitty time and probably end up dropping twice as much a little further down the road. But if you can take it for what it is have a beer say hello and chill out you'll be just fine not because of the regulars but more because you approached it with wonder in mind. Places like this are disappearing. And so are the generations that lived, breathed, and knew how to have a good time before staring into your hand became mandatory. So if you trash this place because that's you then your free to spike your coffee at Starbucks all by yourself instead. This review of the Arrowhead depends entirely on how it's "supposed" to be reviewed. For your safety / pleasure, I'll do both. As a normal bar: It's dark, it's dingy, the people who hang out here are generally the kind of crowd you'd expect from a local trailer park or WalMart. The suds are decently priced, but don't expect anything classy here - it's your standard Bud, Miller, and Coors swill that most of my fellow countrymen try to pass off as "beer". A bonus is that (for a price) you can get takeout beer after all the liquor stores have closed for the night, since they have a "to go" cooler section. After 2 beers, your suspicion sets in, and it feels like you're going to be stabbed or beaten with a pool cue. As an "old man" bar: A real great "old time" place full of regulars. If you want to make friends with some war vets who stopped attending PTSD therapy, local college students who want to get loaded, or recently divorced men / women, this is the place. The look and feel of the place is exactly like "Moe's Tavern" from The Simpsons, and the clientele are the same. So, pick your poison. If you're the type of person who enjoys the hipster / run down atmosphere of a bar long past its prime, this place is downright amazing. If you're looking for a place to relax with a decent brew after work, or to hang out with friends with some bar food? Eh... not so much. Personally, as interesting as the atmosphere was in here, and believe it or not, friendly, I probably won't be going back too soon. It's just kind of depressing. read more

Stopped here once to buy a sixer from the liquor store when I was driving on Route 88. Ran into a friend of mine who was bartending and stuck around for a beer. Dont waste your time at this place! Run down, dark, and very seedy! Crowd was older and degenerate. If you like bikers and women with missing teeth, Arrowhead is the bar for you!!! read more

Interesting place - blue collar crowd, pool table and 4 dart boards along with the ring game. Decent prices and the menu is your normal bar menu. Not the place to go to on a date....or a place to look to leave with someone read more

If your looking for jersey shore rejects, this is not the place. This is a real saloon. There's only two beers on tap, but plenty of bottles. The cheapest drinks around. It's a small, locals bar. People give it a bad rap because of the "seedy" element , but everyone there knows each other, and it's very friendly. No fights/drama like EVERY bar in Point/Sleaze-side. Mostly after work drinking. The Bartenders are friendly and attentive, and you can't get better wings anywhere else. The cook is great, and your never disappointed if you're looking to eat and drink for cheap. This is not fancy, trendy, a place to hook up or bring a date. It's just cheap, problem free drinking. The package goods are very affordable, and they're the only place open around at night. Where else can you get $1.75 drafts all day, everyday? You want a club? go somewhere else. You want to drink like a man, come to the Arrowhead. read more
