5-STARS ALL THE WAY!! Had our son's rehearsal dinner here for 12 adults no kids and one 95 year old who is absolutely the sassy matriarch of our family!! Dinner was delicious appetizer first- the spinach dip and the mussels were so good and enough to share with everyone. We had everything from burgers, reuben sandwiches and pot pies to steak and fish & chips. Service was spot on and the beer and drinks flowed for all. Looking to do a corned beef meal after Asbury park parade , headed down to spring lake to find an Irish pub. This place has a great look to it, menu with a lot of options. Sat at the bar $9 harp pt, 6.95 cup of soup, and I think $15.95 corned beef sandwich. Pretty skimpy on the meat portion while the rye bread was a bit too thick to make up for the light on the meat. We were in the area and looking for a place for dinner. Our food was delicious and they had live music which was unexpected but made it for a fun time! We ordered the cider salmon, Celtic burger, and bread pudding. The mashed potatoes I had with the salmon were a little bland but tasty overall. The bread pudding is a MUST!! Nice pub in Spring Lake Heights. Food is Irish pub fare for the most part. Lots of traditional Irish food options. Had the Fish and Chips which were good. Service was ok considering the place was absolutely mobbed when I went. On nights with live music, make a reservation if you want to see the entertainment. My wife and I went in for a late afternoon lunch. Upon entering there was nobody at the hostess desk. There were two woman about 15 feet away busy talking. Both of them looked at us and did not even bother to come over and greet us. After waiting for about 3-4 minutes, I walked over to them and asked if they worked there. The one woman said yes. I replied " can we please have a seat"? She then came over to the reception area to retrieve 2 menus and took us to our seats. She never apologized for not acknowledging us when we came in. First time @ St Stephen's and was delighted with our choice for dinner. We were craving some Irish food being St Patrick's week. It was a Wednesday evening and there was live music, which was a great surprise. We were given a table in the back room and right away ask our drink order and given a basket of Irish soda bread and rolls with butter. Dinner was great ordered the muscles and wings for appetizers then corn beef and cabbage, roast chicken, and fish and chips. Dessert was cheesecake and bread pudding and ice cream. Had dinner on a Sunday. There was great Irish live music. I don't care for the menu so going there once a year is doable. I think tonight maybe our family last visit. We sat in the cozy room in the back. There was a weird smell like maybe all of the old wood or floor needs some attention. We had 4 mismatched tables that rocked quite a bit spilled water etc. service was also poor. My turkey burger was flavorless dense and hard. Burgers others had were good. Would have had more drinks but never was offered. After the poor service we left without having dessert. Very disappointed but not the first time but it was the last. So sad to type this! read more

Irish pub with a very comprehensive menu I came here for dinner with a group of my friends, and the place was packed! We were lucky that a party our size was just getting up when we got there because otherwise there would have been a 1.5-2 hr wait for a table! First of all this Resturant was table to table close, so close we could hear what the people next to us were talking about. There wasn't even a foot between. Then the place was cold and cold air was blowing on my head. They did turn down the flow some for us. The bread at the table was very dry , not able to eat it even with butter. We got a salad , nothing special just iceberg lettuce. We got the crab cake appetizer and there was too much breading, no lump crab . Then our main dish was Irish cider glazed Salmon. The whole dish was over done , the salmon was dry , the vegetables were overdone and I had to get more sauce to pour over the fish just to be able to eat any of it. This place came recommended by our bed and breakfast and it had 4 1/2 stars on open table. We were very disappointed. No one took care to make our meals. read more

Second time my friend and I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare and they both were well done. Last time friend and I ordered roast beef au jus. Both our orders were so dry and hard on the ends. However, we ordered steak bites with a peppercorn whiskey sauce and honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I mean most steak appetizers at most local restaurants are just are bad. I was completely blown away! They were medium rare, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. They melted in my mouth and my tastebuds danced!!! That doesn't happen often. So I decided to tempt fate and ordered desert. I am not a big dessert person as a rule but I had the Irish bread & butter pudding with warm Irish whiskey sauce! It was perfect ! Not overly sweet with just the right amount of sauce that it wasn't drowned! I couldn't stop eating it. Lol, I literally can not say enough about this place! The food was delicious. We got it for takeout and it was fresh. Ready quick and tasty. I had the Potato Leek Soup. It was flavorful and smooth. Definitely a good starter. And then for my meal, I went with the Wyckham Wrap. It was tasty as well. Had chicken, avocado, bacon, cheese, lettuce and a cilantro vinaigrette. Believe all the other reviews: this place is the best of Irish food, which we love. Service: amazing. Food: delicious and plentiful. We had the mussels and brought the leftover sauce home - will use it on pasta. Had the best Boxty's ever - has ruined us for all other boxtys. Was already full when the seafood pie arrived and it was still delicious, though we brought 2/3 of it home, which was delicious for lunch! Haven't been here for a couple years but remembered it was good and we stopped in mid day Sunday. It was busy but no wait for 2. Nice Old style interior. Love the old school mature seasoned male and female servers. We're not drinkers so come for the food. The brunch platters coming out looked good but we felt like sandwiches. The Reuben was disappointing. It was very average with thin sliced corned beef that wasn't very tender - did not look or taste like it was homemade. I have driven by but never went in. The ambiance and decor does feel like a typical british pub. I didn't have high expectations for the food and I was right since the food was below average. The tipperary reuben with sweet potato fries was flavorless. The chicken pot pie was not good whatsoever. It had a soupy consistency which wasn't appetizing. The puff pastry on top wasn't bad. The kettle chips were ok and made for a good snack. The lemon sole also wasn't my favorite. The dessert was a little better. The carrot cake with vanilla frosting was decent and the rice pudding had good flavor. The service was horribly slow as well so nothing really worked out. Good pub. We've been there numerous times. Fish and Chips. Chicken Pot Pie. Shrimp Po Boy. Burgers. Appetizers. All good. Atmosphere is lively. One minor complaint. I tried the lobster bisque and, I think they forgot the lobster. It was liquidty, not creamy or thick. Really didn't taste like bisque at all. For this I give them a 3 stars, Sorry, Chef, you have to do better than this for lobster night! read more
