It's right next to Princeton's campus and the Battle of Trenton Memorial. My husband is a big fan of all the Signers of the Declaration, and unlike a more restored house about the people who owned the house, it focuses on the Stockton family who lived here and the American Revolution and a special exhibit. We were actually here for a few hours since there's a lot of signs to read and a lot of Richard Stocktons who lived in the house, followed by some governors. When I went, there was also a really interesting exhibit on Ma Bell and the history of telecommunications upstairs. This was a great historical site, a cheap price, and a nice space. Would love to come back when the garden is in bloom, and I will look out for future exhibitions as they rotate in.

Actually I wanted to just hang out there and talk to them all day. Also, the gallery has some incredible work--I mean the most incredible work that I have seen since moving to this area from NYC. I haven't seen SO much art that I like in this area--not that it isn't here, but the style around here tends to be a bit more traditional than what I prefer. I loved most of what they were showing and will be going back. I don't want to put a name to the style because I think they show some varied work and the exhibitions change. They're doing some renovations now, but any history buff will find this place fascinating. Inside you've got galleries, a gift shop, meeting spaces, and staff who are genuinely passionate about keeping history alive. Go, learn something, enjoy the energy of the fun tour guides. It's under construction right now, but I've been coming here for years when I visit family in Jersey, and it's always worth the stop. Trenton may be scrappy, but the Old Barracks is one of its gems.

They have one day classes and longer-term workshops that cater to beginners, and those who have been doing art all of their lives. All you have to do is come in with your imagination. They offer acrylic, pouring classes, watercolor, classes, pottery, and more! I believe the classes are a good value for the price and so are the items that are sold within the studio. As I approached the covered front patio there were folks on the chairs after their visit just enjoying the cool breeze and contemplating their visit together. You are in the historic Boone Farm after all. It seems fitting. Welcoming. Make your way to the front desk -at your left. You can get some good information . Get your map. Lots to see even there. A huge Selma Burk relief sculpture. Seems quite fitting. She represents so much of the story. Her Bucks County connection and historical connection! She designed the dime in your pocket. The museum honors the African American experience and especially locally. You have the opportunity to learn so many precious stories. BIG BEN! William & Daisy Meyers! Local folks! Even Fredrick Douglas came to BucksCounty & 300+ people came to Newtown Hall, to hear him speak. Harriet Tubman came to and through Bucks County. Learn these stories and so much more. It's quite amazing. Today there were oodles of docents. What an opportunity to learn from them some of which are accomplished authors . I spent two hours and I really could have spent more time.
