Houston is such a vibrant, kinetic city and anyone that says there's nothing to do is a liar. Art Club is a multimedia museum (conveniently located in Post) that'll make you think, laugh, and appreciate the creativity of amazing artists. Whether you want to take cool pictures or tire the kiddos for the drive home, check it out! Discount pricing is also available for students, littles, and seniors.

Art Club is a museum space in the Post Houston, that transitions to a DJ club space on select evenings of the month. I had seen Art Club on instagram, and intrigued with their ambiance and vibe, checked their DJ lineup calendar online and was excited to see that Sam Collins was playing in April. My friend and I purchased regular admission tickets which were reasonably priced (around $30 after taxes) but quickly realized upon arriving that VIP is the way to go. VIP has the added benefit of being able to visit their multiple art installation rooms, all with very different vibes, in addition to the DJ space and with the gift of an Art Club thermal cup. Initially I didn't think that mixing a DJ experience with art exhibits would be worth the extra cost but it definitely was worth it. They do offer upgrade options for an additional charge once you arrive if you decide to change from regular admission to VIP. In terms of the DJ night - this is a cool experience! The acoustics and visuals are on point. They offer a full service bar with drinks that were reasonably priced for a venue (about $10 each). Unfortunately no private bar for VIP but we had no issues with lines. Parking is available at the Post and is $5/hr after the first hour during Monday- Thursday. Parking is slightly more expensive Friday- Sunday. Level 2 EV chargers are also available onsite for FREE (however you do have to pay for the regular parking rates). Overall, really cool experience! Definitely recommend and plan to return!

Online it says they close at 10 PM. So why does the Manager close shop at 8 PM every day?

The Frida collection was extremely popular and that's where most of the museums visitors spent their time. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and wish I had more time to explore. It is one of those places that can easily be a one and done. There is discounted weekday price starting at $19 for kids 3-12. Something tells me the $19 is if you buy it in advance. Meaning, not the day of. I paid $25 for the kids and $29 for myself online. The photo opps are what you make of it. Like for instance I've been to places where you press a button and the confetti drops down. For this, you have to actually throw the confetti up yourself. Good luck trying to figure this out with kids if you're looking for a good photo. They were also a bit underwhelmed with it. They loved the music room, the light bright room, and the balloon room. The goodies. It was cute. I'm trying bit to give the whole experience away if you are interested in going. It is best to pay for the ice cream online as it is a bit cheaper but not by much. Those cones were cute and delicious. I purchased the photo package. It really isn't necessary as you get to download the photos from a QR code you use when snapping the pics. There is a small parking lot near to it. If you wait for the group before you to leave then you can get a spot without an issue.

The security guards are rude as hell. Apparently you can't point at the art and god forbid you had your PAMPHLET open while you are walking. To the man who told me to close it, you are insufferable. The pamphlets are for the people and they can do whatever the hell they want with it. He must be so bored standing around doing nothing with his life that he decided to make an issue with my PIECE OF PAPER. The art is utter dog sh*t. I don't need to go to art school to say the art was awful. The art looks like someone took their poop and smeared it on canvas with scribbles. I think a toddler can create better art. Everyone looked so depressed to be working there which I can see why if I was staring at bullsh*t all day. I've been to so many art museums over the years and I have never had such an awful experience with the pieces and the staff. Rude staff, crap art. Only people who know nothing about art will enjoy this "collection". Make sure to not take pictures of the trash work, point at it, or have your pamphlet open because they will cause an issue with you.
